So if you don't believe in Jesus Christ you're not righteous? huh
I'm sorry, YOU ARE NOT!!!
right works without Christ only makes you a moralist and maybe a philanthropist.

Use grammar to vague all they say and then tell us we need some deeper understanding to crack the knowledge. I wonder how crazier one can get. Jesus taught in the simplest of structures, yet diz self acclaimed holier than saints come here to give me puzzles to solve. Keep it up...
If you think OP's "Grammer" is beyond your level of comprehension, Kindly take your time to read the Bible yourself and you will understand Jesus's words.

The piece didn't ask you not to do right, it's just an eye opener that your right doings aren't what makes you righteous. Believing Jesus Christ is what makes us righteous

Beautiful piece... This is a message the devil is trying so hard to prevent from circulating because he knows it will only make Christians stronger In Christ as we will become solely dependent on Him and the works He has done for us. Beautiful!
CelebritiesRe: In Defence Of Miss Chidinma Okeke Side Of The Story by Scatterscatter(op): 1:55pm On Nov 12, 2016
It's so sad to see what the Nigerian community has turned to, a country that is always eager to celebrate bad news and always waiting for more bad things to happen, a country that is always on the lookout for the bad in every good situation, a country that has lost its sense on reasoning and decision making!

Fast forward to what prompted this, I saw a thread earlier regarding Miss chidinma's side of the story; after reading it carefully with an objective mind then going down to read people's comment, I must confess I was disappointed as I'm very sure most of the people badmouthing her on this forum do worse things!!!
You find it easy to belive any story that supports her wrong doing yet throw her own side of the story to the bin. I pray you all find yourselves in situations where people won't believe what ever you say to defend yourself.

However, going by what she said and considering the pageantry in its entirety, the competition looks more like a scam! The organisers should be arrested asap and made to explain the whole process and also provide proof of payment of the full cash price and car maintaining allowance. With what she said, I believe the competition should be purged and every other peagent competition should be thoroughly scrutinized by security agents before, during an after the competition as most of them are just means of luring naive and desperate girls into despicable things as this.

Yes chidinma made a mistake for ever even thinking of doing the video under any guise but I'm sure there are over 1001 girls that will fall for same especially the naive ones, moreso we all know how gullible girls can be regardless of their age, they can be easily manipulated especially when faced with threat, material things or the right words. No one knows what the poor girl went through.

Whoever released the video should be arrested as blackmail is a criminal act punishable by law.
For once, let's all join hands to protect our young girls, let's protect them from hungry perverse and sex hungry men and women roaming the streets, let's stop the spread and promotion of the video as we are only encouraging the blackmailer to do more. Who knows, it might be your kid sister or daughter tommorow.

Let's all learn to correct in love and understanding.

@babs612000

This life is very funny. That same Jakande Estate I was born and bred my brother.

Good to see you have been there a few times.

Let me add my few cents to the on going demolitions. You see my brother we Nigerians have a mentality of erecting anything in a residential estate is just okay. You see here in the west we might call them oyinbo people whatever. But at least they live like civil people. I have shops that were demolished too. But the whole make shift shop was just becoming an eyesore. In as much as 9ja is in a recession. It's at leaSt one credible thing that have done right. Having said that. The government should endeavour to help better the estate by building commercial market place where people can sell their goods and services to the general estate populace. Just my one cent my brother.
I agree with you wholeheartedly and I'm not in support of the shops, I'm only being realistic here.
Alternatives were supposed to be put in place before demolition but in this case, non was provided.

Stop trying to compare us with the West. America is over 250 years old and we haven't being thru 1/3 of what they've passed thru.

Provide the basic amenities and tell me if Nigerians won't be civil.
Listen, AN HUNGRY AND OPPRESSED MAN CAN NEVER BE CIVIL!!!

Sorry to say, people like you do not think beyond your local environment. You need better living condition beyond what was there now. Its never to late to do things right to improve living condition of our people. do you knew what festac town looks like in the 80s? Pls go and find out
Can you compare the economic situation of the country in the 80's to what we have now?
Did the restructuring happen overnight as against wat is happening now?

Listen, I'm very sure you don't know jack about good living condition!
Do you improve living condition by collapsing the economy?
Do you improve living condition by rendering ppl jobless?
Do you improve living condition by ignoring the bad roads?
Do you improve living condition without good power supply?

Answer these questions before saying any other thing!!!

Permit me to ask you some questions to jolt your thinking...

- when a customer comes to buy sachet water and other items usually wrapped in polyethylene, can those shop owners claim to ensure that they were properly disposed? #pollution

- being that the estate is a residential area, it's safe to assume that all occupants are documented, is it safe to assume that the multitude of "strangers" drawn to the vicinity by the presence of these illegal structures/shops are documented?
#insecurity #guysofunderworld

This means that the absence of these illegal structures/shops will help improve security for the residents and the area in general as well as the aesthetics.

Again your argument for "source of livelihood" is emotional at best and continued emergence of "shanties" have to be addressed as it is becoming something of an epidermic countrywide.
I am a realist and I don't believe in making people suffer if it can be avoided. FOI, one thing most occupants love about the area is that u can get almost anything you want without leaving the estate {comfort}
The shops emerged early 2000 to address issues of insecurity and environmental pollution and all the shops are being owned by landlords in the estate not by any Tom, dick nd Harry.
I don't know what part of the world you are speaking from but I can tell u categorically that the so called developed countries fixed their economy and provided food for the people before considering ascetics or any useless beautification.

Now answer this question, what do you expect an able bodied man with criminal tendencies being contained due to the Lil business that he is managing to do when the government forcefully takes it from him without providing any alternative?

Listen, before you say anything or take any action, try to have a deep understanding of the whole issue and weigh the good nd bad sides.

Polices should be made to improve the standard of living but I maintain my ground that this particular one is a capital NO! NO!

The shops are illegal and should go, but not at this time cos we have more pressing needs that needs to be addressed. Also FOI, we have agberos at the estate gate collecting money from commercial drivers thereby causing serious menace, increased tfare which the estate occupants suffer nd insecurity . The govt didn't see this all cos the money gets to them at the end of the day.
FACE THE FACT AND STOP TRYING TO MAKE NIGERIA, AMERICA OVER NIGHT AT THE EXPENSE OF THE POOR MASSES.

Do you not understand? The cancer, headache wouldn't be there in the first place if people adhered to/obeyed the original plan/design.

I don't even know where to start nor where to end in trying to elaborate on the problems associated with the deviation from initial plan, design and purpose of the estate with the ere.ction of these "illegal structures". There's insecurity, pollution, environmental degradation to mention but a few.

Imagine buying yourself a nice piece of land in a quiet area mapped for residence and erecting a cosy house only for the area to be turned into a faux market place in a few years time, how would you feel? I'm sure lots of the original occupants and potentially interested citizens would've been forced to vacate/abandon their plans to reside there due to these "illegal structures" and the "headache+cancer" associated with them.

There's never a wrong time to do the right thing.
The problem with lots of us Nigerians is that we actually do not understand the importance of urban planning and why areas are mapped out for residence, trade and what not. I think government needs to start sensitising people on these things.
You've gotten it all wrong.
These so called structures helped curb insecurity and environmental degradation as the shop owners take care of their environment. I've been in the estate for the past 26 years and I can tell you categorically that this exercise will lead to serious insecurity as guys of the underworld now have a free atmosphere to perpetrate their acts.
No responsible government takes away people's source of livelihood in the name of urbanization without providing any alternative. AMBODE got this wrong!!!

I'm not here to debate the issue of IGR, but the justification of the demolition exercise. Like I said, it's painful and I can't even begin to imagine what the affected persons are going through but, they shouldn't be there in the first place for an infinite number of reasons.

Government has already provided multiple alternatives in markets and private individuals in malls and mini marts.

We either clean up the system and move forward or keep with the "norm" and continue degenerating.
Pls which malls and market are you referring to? I'm sure you don't have a clue of the place in question. The only market is the one built in the 80's to cater for less than 1000 occupants in the estate then. Now the population is above 10,000 and no extra market or mall has been built. Only say what you know, don't mislead the general public

Yes, the sewage had been abandoned. The estate had been abandoned. All the zones had altered the original plans.

But I analyzed the situation some years back and I told myself "how can government turn a blind eye to this.
The question is, are those shops truly illegal?

To me the structure were illegal and it is good to remove them.
Do you realise there are other illegal structures asides the shops? Do you know Tree of Righteousness is also illegal?

It's a sad experience surely, but your argument (against the demolition) is rather emotional than logical/rational. Those structures are not meant to be there and wasn't planned for.

Yes it's been the norm now (makeshift shops) but that doesn't make it right. Infact it directly mirrors everything that is wrong with Nigeria, we've all abandoned the hard right decisions for the easy "normal" albeit irrational ones and it's been haunting us.

There comes a time when we have to take a step back and take the painful and hard but completely right logical decisions. It's for the best.
It is emotional yes but tell me what is more rational.
If only you have a deep understanding of our plight in the estate, then u'll understand. I'm sure you are being feed stories from the media.
Cancer and Headache, which will u treat first?
Our government end up leaving leprosy to treat ringworm! Demolition is not the solution at this moment.
Good things done at the wrong time = wrong
PropertiesRe: Illegal Structures At Oke Afa Demolished By Lagos State Government (Pics) by Scatterscatter(m):
What happened yesterday was the height of wickedness and government's insensitivity to the plight of the masses. For everyone that cares to know the truth, the demolition had noting to do with Givin the estate an uplift. I live in the estate and I can categorically tell u that we've had the worst power supply in our axis frm January till now, the estate has terrible motorable roads, the govt has stopped financing the operation of the central sewage flushing; individuals in my zone contributed to get the sewage to work when the entire zone became an eye sore due to sewage spillage.
Back to the demolition, the govt called the structures illegal but ask them if LBIC AND EJIGBO LCDA don't collect money from the shop owners or if LASSRA don't collect money for shop name advert. Listen everyone, those structures are shops that are mostly owned by pensioners/retirees and it is the only source of livelihood for most people at a period when rice= 23k, fuel=145, dollar=475>, December is around the corner and all the govt can think of is to stop the only means of survival of poor masses without providing any alternative. To give the estate an uplift, start by improving the power condition, fix the roads, get the sewage to work andprovide affordable shop alternatives before thinking of demolition. Only God will judge all those behind this wicked and satanic act.

PoliticsBreaking News!! Efcc To Invite Patience Jonathan For Questioning by Scatterscatter(op): 8:34am On Sep 25, 2016
Having frozen her personal account with a balance of $5m as well as four other accounts linked to her with a balance of$15.6m, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is set to invite Dame Patience Jonathan, the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan.Impeccable sources at the EFCC toldSUNDAY PUNCHthat detectives had visited the Skye Bank branch on Adeola Hopewell, Victoria Island, where the accounts were opened and had obtained the files containing Patience’s information. The source told our correspondent that the detectives had been able to establish a prima facie case of money laundering and forgery against Patience. It will be recalled that as part of investigations into a former Special Adviser to the President on Domestic Affairs, Waripamowei Dudafa, the EFCC traced four company accounts to him all domiciled at Skye Bank. The bank accounts of the four companies — Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited; Seagate Property Development and Investment Company Limited; Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited; and Globus Integrated Service Limited — were said to have been opened with stolen identities. Some of the directors of the company were also said to be domestic servants of Dudafa who did not know that any account had been opened on their behalf.Shortly before the EFCC could arraign the suspects, Mrs. Jonathan deposed to an affidavit insisting that the monies belonged toher, a move which prompted the commission to beam its searchlight on Patience.A detective at the EFCC said, “After three months of investigation, I can confirm to you that we are set to invite Patience Jonathan. We obtained the files from the bank and we realised that those accounts with the $15m were opened with fake identity cards, including driving licences.“We took the cards and went to the Federal Road Safety Corps to verify if the cards were authentic. We found out that the cards were fake. So, this is not just money laundering buta clear case of fraud.“If they had nothing to hide, why did they go to this length?”While the companies have pleaded guilty, Patience insists that the money belongs to her but claims she does not know the companies. In an affidavit, one Sammie Somiari deposed to on behalf of Patience, Mrs. Jonathan claimed that Dudafa helped Patience to open the bank accounts in 2010.However, EFCC investigations revealed that the accounts were opened between 2013 and 2014.According to Somiari, Dudafa had on March 22, 2010 brought two Skye Bank officers to meet Patience at home to open five accounts. The deponent claimed that Patience was the sole signatory to the accounts. He, however, claimed that after the five accounts were opened, Patience later discovered that Dudafa opened only one of the accounts in her name while the other four were opened in the names of companies belonging to Dudafa.Meanwhile, sources within the agency told our correspondent that the commission had been under pressure to drop the case as there are plans by Patience’s supporters to embark on a series of protests this week.On Friday, scores of supporters of Mrs. Jonathan stormed the Port Harcourt zonal office of the EFCC asking the commission to stop probing her. They insisted that Patience, who is also from Rivers State, was innocent. The protesters, who were led by one Sara-Igbe Sukubo, a self-professed anti-corruption ambassador, said they were inthe commission to express their unhappinessand submit their letter of protest over what hecalled ill-treatment of Mrs. Jonathan. In his response, the South-South zonal head of the EFCC, Ishaq Salilu, told the protesters that the EFCC as a creation of law dischargesits responsibilities within the ambits of the law.He said, “The EFCC is a law-abiding organisation which discharges its duties not minding whose ox is gored. We do not shy away from our responsibilities. Where there isa case, we pursue it to its logical conclusion, if there is no case, there is none, we move to other things. The motto of the commission is ‘Nobody is above the law.’”Copyright PUNCH.
