Christianity EtcRe: What Does It Mean To Bind The Strong Man? by Scholar8200(m): 1:19pm On Jan 20, 2016
Binding the strong man means to do something after the manner of Revelations 20:1-4 such that he is unable to perpetrate his activities among the people he is dominating.

And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more,
Revelations 20:1-3a

A vivid example of saints doing this is what Maria Woodworth-Etter did in the place called Devil's Den and John Oxtoby did in Filey. Here we act according to what we see the Father doing meaning we dont just act presumptuously, we wait on Him for orders before we act.
Christianity EtcYusha And Isa: Why The Disparity? by Scholar8200(op):
In a recent thread, Maamin, in replying DeathStroke007 said:

Bible was originally penned down in 3 languages 1. Ancient Hebrew 2. Ancient Aramaic 3. Koine Greek before it was translated into English.
Eoshoa Meeshkha(aramaic) = Jesus the Christ (English)
Yashua ha'Mashiakh (Hebrew) = Jesus the Christ (English)

Now I am curious, since Yashua= Joshua=Jesus= Eoshoa; and since the Quran was given word for word by the same personality, why did the speaker derive Joshua from the Hebrew as Yusha ibn Nun but rendered Jesus obviously from the Aramaic as Isa?

Would it be right to say that some parts of the Quran were reproduced from extant manuscripts?

i would have expected that the author would render both Joshua, Eoshoa and Jesus the same not observing differences peculiar to manuscripts written in various languages.

These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: John 17:1 (STANDING WITH EYES LIFTED TO HEAVEN SPEAKING TO YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER)

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: Mark 11:25 (STANDING)

I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears. Psalm 6:6 (LYING ON A BED)

And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven, (SITTING)
Nehemiah 1:4

WHAT IS THE KEY FACTOR IN PRAYER:
With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee earlysadIN SPIRIT & TRUTH)
Isaiah 26:9a

and

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.(FAITH)

Mark 11:24

Pray goes beyond recitations and repetitions by rote!

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Matthew 6:7

THE REAL ESSENCE THEN OF WORSHIP AND PRAYER IS THAT IT BE DONE IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH FOR:

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

ehn ehn.. paul beheaded? so that guy na lair abi.. d Christian who owns the site ...laughing
Go ahead and laugh while I bring more facts:

Writing in 2 Timothy 4:6–8, Paul seems to be anticipating his soon demise: “For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come.

Second Timothy was written during Paul’s second Roman imprisonment in AD 64—67. There are a few different Christian traditions in regards to how Paul died, but the most commonly accepted one comes from the writings of Eusebius, an early church historian. Eusebius claimed that Paul was beheaded at the order of the Roman emperor Nero or one of his subordinates. Paul’s martyrdom occurred shortly after much of Rome burned in a fire—an event that Nero blamed on the Christians.

www.gotquestions.org

Meanwhile, John the beloved lived till 100AD almost 33 year after Paul's death!

As regards the scribes:
21 Timotheus my workfellow, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you.

22 I Tertius, who wrote this epistle
, salute you in the Lord.

Romans 16:21,22 Paul authored the epistle to the Romans but the scribe names himself here.

Even your link confirms the use of scribes! Besides, there is NOTHING there that credits Paul as being the author of John's Gospel! The letters of the Apostle are NOT the Gospels! Those letters are 1,2 & 3 John and 1 and 2 Peter!

Moreover, Paul was beheaded long before John who was the one that lived longest. How then will Paul preserve the Gospel of John or the 3 letters of John and Revelations when he died before John?

Your site was authored by one who apparently wishes the Messiah came for Israel alone. This however contradicts many prophecies and God's promise to Abraham!

All Paul's writngs were letters to Churches, not biographies. John authored all the books bearing his name and Revelations. And in keeping with the practise then, this does not mean he was the scribe just as some of Paul's letters were written through a scribe eg Tertius wrote Romans see Romans 16:22, Jeremiah authored the book that bear his name but Baruch assisted as a scribe etc

That's not true. He already said to His disciples:

Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.

32 For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:

33 And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.

Luke 18:31-33

Matthew 26:39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face(BOW TO GOD JUST LIKE WE MUSLIMS DO), and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

3 SHAKY FACTS ABOUT BIBLE....

1. IF THE SON OF MARY WAS MENTIONED BY NAME IN HEBREW AS YUSKHA, SO HOW DID THE NAME Jesus COME ABOUT? THERE WAS NO ENGLISH GOSPEL AT THAT TIME OF THE CLAIMED Jesus
And how did Oshea change to Joshua? Do you know? How did Elisha change to Eliseus, and Elijah to Elias?

2. BARABBAS IS A GREEK NOUN WHICH MEANS SON OF THE FATHER IN ENGLISH...THAT WAS THE ONE WHO WAS FREED BY THE PILATE FROM PRISON. IF THAT IS THE CASE, THEN WHO WAS THE ONE ON THE CROSS? CHRISTOS? THE TITLE? THE ANOINTED? WHY THE WORD BARABBAS WAS NEVER TRANSLATED INTO ENGLISH UP TILL DATE? WHAT IS THE PURPOSE? DO YOU KNOW THAT IN HEBREW AND JEWISH HISTORY THAT THE SON OF MARY USED TO BE CALLED SON OF ABBAS? DO YOU?
Quote that history let's see! Besides, there was an open choice between Jesus and another criminal held for insurrection. This claims will hold water if only Jesus stood for the trial.

3. CAN YOU ATLEAST TELL ME MATTHEW WHOM? MARK WHOM? LUKE WHOM? JOHN WHOM? .....WHO ARE THOSE PEOPLE WHOM TAUGHT THE MOST IMPORTANT STORY OF Jesus FOR MANKIND? THEY NEVER MET Jesus OR ATE WITH HIM.. INTERESTING ISN'T IT? .....

ANOTHER PROOF THAT Jesus WASN'T CRUCIFIED NOR HE DIED
Hebrews 13:20
Now may the God of peace--who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood--

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

Hebrews 12:2-4

Since you quoted Hebrews then the above too is from the same book. Do you believe them too?

Psalms 91:10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 91:12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 91:13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 91:14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 91:15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 91:16 With long life: will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Christianity EtcRe: Some Contradictions In The Bibble by Scholar8200(m):
Ahmedie25:
1. God sent his prophet to threaten David with how many years of famine?

(a) Seven (2 Samuel 24:13)
(b) Three (1 Chronicles 21:12)
Matthew Poole's Commentary
Seven years of famine.

Object. In 1 Chronicles 21:12, it is only three years of famine.

Answ. 1. Some conceive that here was an error in the transcriber, and that the true reading is three years, as the LXX. read it in this place, being supposed to have found it so in their copies, and that otherwise they durst never have presumed to make so great a change in the text.

2. In Chron. he speaks exactly of those years of famine only which came for David’s sin; but here he speaks more confusedly and comprehensively, including those three years of famine sent for Saul’s sin, 2Sa 21. And this sin of David’s was committed in the year next after them, which was in a manner a year of famine; either because it was the sabbatical year, wherein they might not sow nor reap; or rather, because not being able to sow in the third year, because of the excessive drought, they were not capable of reaping this fourth year. And three years more being added to these four, make up the seven here mentioned. So the meaning of the words is this, As thou hast already had four years of famine, shall three years more come? And that it is said of these seven years, that they shall come, it is a synecdochical expression frequent in Scripture, because part of the years were yet to come; even as it is said of the Israelites, that they should wander in the wilderness forty years, Numbers 14:33, when part of that time was already spent.

Matthew Poole's commentary.

2. How old was Ahaziah when he began to rule over Jerusalem?
(a) Twenty two (2 kings 8:6)
(b) Forty two ( 2 Chronicles 22:2)
Coming to issues that were obtained from the efforts of the scribes and recorders in an age when there was no press or printing machine and when the only means was to write with hand, the issue an hand is purely historical and largely immaterial to the essence and purpose of Scripture. Besides, studies have shown that:

Thus the sense of Ahaziah’s being “a son of 42 years” in his reigning is seen to refer to his being a son of the dynasty of Omri which was in its 42nd year. Putting the two Scriptures together reveals that Ahaziah was 22 years old when he began to reign during the 42nd year of the dynasty of Omri, of which he is also an integral part
Chronology of the Old Testament, Dr Floyd Jones.

Before anyone refutes the quote, let him/her prove to us that as at the time in question, Omri's dynasty indeed was not in it's 42nd year.

3 . How many stalls for horses did Solomon have?
(a) Forty thousand (I Kings 4 : 26)
( b) Four thousand (2 chronicles 9: 25)
Solomon had 40,000 horses kept in Four thousand stall meaning 10 horses per stall. But I wonder what influence this has on the Essence of the Bible.

2 Chronicles 9:25
4 . How many where children of zattu
(a) 945 (Ezra 2:cool
(b) 845 ( Nehemiah 7: 13)
I have c more than 100 contradictions in Bible I hope
my Christian brothers will explain this few ones written above.
Answer to this is same as (2). All these were picked from purely historical aspects of the OT! Nothing relating to prophecies, Christ, the New Covenant etc! Do you realise that these books are with the Israelites today and it forms their history? These are matters that were compiled by scribes and judges, and expecting men at such a primitive time to be accurate and perfect with words and numbers is anachronistic!
The true contradiction will be if one passage says Moses died and was buried by Gershom and another says he went up the mountain and God handled his burial!
OR
If one passage says Elijah went to heaven while another says Elijah was beheaded by Jezebel!

I live in the United States--over here, almost all of the major scholars and scientists agree that bible isn't the word that can be attributed to god. Bible has been corrupted. We have hard evidence of that.
But that was the same Bible that broughT about the First and Second Awakenings in America! Lives were transformed by those who believed the same Bible just as it happened to those recorded in the Bible who believed. In what area has it been corrupted then? What then should be happening to those that believe that is not happening because the Bible was corrupted? America will glory in her founding fathers and past generations but will rebel against any of their legacies that point Godwards, that is not surprising.

Archaeologists claim to find evolutions missing link, they believe; archaeologists find artefacts confirming Bible records , it becomes propaganda; places and people who have these records as their history are here with us what then?

There are thousands of mistakes within bible passages and difference bible manuscripts say different things. How to know which one is truth?
pls since you have heard this man yourself, enumerate some of these 'thousand'mistakes' This same excuse was used in another form by Israel: we dont know what happened to Moses so let's forsake God, make an idol and have sex parties to it (like they must have seen in Egypt and was their real intention else were there not other decent course of action? Was the God that rescued them dead?);
And is the same excuse used by muslims,''the Bible is corrupted!'' Pray, by who? For what intent? Do deceivers now deal in peace, righteousness, love, holiness of life, love for enemies , respect for constituted authorities etc?

That's why people are leaving christianity in droves here. Not because of emotions, but because of hard evidence.
Do vouchsafe us some hard evidences.

Sorry but you should search for truth in light of evidence rather than just sticking to one thing because thats what you identify with. God wants us to find HIM and HIS truth right? Then go with the evidence.
which evidence?

Why don't you watch some of Dr Bart Erhman's debates with other christian scholars? He totally dismantles them with evidence and even they agree with his findings that bible has indeed been corrupted. Even CATHOLIC CHURCH now agrees with this stance that bible has been corrupted over the years.
here lies the real propaganda in my opinion. It seems those shows are stage managed.

My my do you know how many times ive tried repenting by "willing it" upon enlightenment but no way!
The words 'try' and 'willing it' explains your failure here. These are not religious rites! Rather you seek God on the basis of the Gospel, not thinking that repentance makes you 'fit' to approach Him but confessing the symptoms (sins) of your need for the salvation He has to offer through Christ.
Now you do not recite this like we do the Lord's prayer, rather it's a heart to heart talk with the Savior. However, God sees your heart; nothing will happen if you are insincere, wanting to hold to some pet sin or define sin in your terms. (just like a sick person who cannot treat or cure himself BUT DESIRES TO BE HEALED will open up to the doctor that has the knowledge to)

After nodding in agreement i still see no sign of a changed life.
Consider the audience in Acts 2, they did not just nod in agreement, they expressed a desire upon seeing a need.

Is there no power that can make me truly hate sin because as it stands i dont hate sin even after all my prayers of repentance. My heart is still the same. I've never mourned over my sins. I have not seen why i should.
Have you been this open before God in prayer? This portion of your quote reads like the cry of the seeker found in Romans 7 and Romans 8 revealed the answer that there is such a Power through the indwelling of the Lord through the Spirit. I wish you will go to God with this exasperation and also study these refs like you did John 3.
God wants to save you but he cant if you dont let him. Really? Why did he come in the first place without asking us if we needed him and his offer.
Well there had to be a Provision before an offer!
Besides millions have accepted that offer and did not remain the same. Why? After the fall, Salvation has remained a real need, not felt need. Most people do not appreciate the former as they do the latter. If God heals the sick , but makes no provision for the eternal destiny of the healed person what difference does it make?

God knows am dead spiritually to him but still expects me to hear him spiritually and believe before he wakes me up? arrrgh this is crazy !
Who said so? That is why I said believing involves the whole person. You hear the Gospel with your ears, understand with the mind and intellect and respond with the will (or reject) and when this is done sincerely, trusting in the Saviour presented by the Gospel, the Spirit regenerates your spirit and the Life comes, at that point, you become reconciled to God.

God does not assist you in salvation, He saves however, it wont happen against your will. Right from the OT, it has been, ''if you are willing''. Now when you read John 3, did you see where Jesus said just as Moses lifted up the serpent... Kindly read the story. The remedy was provided but anyone bitten by the snakes still needed to take a conscious action of faith. Note that the remedy would not appear to make sense, it seemed foolish but those who obeyed lived.
