We all know the truth..... This region is Blessed in many ways. This fact is an open secret.
yes it is an open secret that people are determined to make a closed secret. It is quite dishearting when i come online (especially nairaland) to come and read comment heavily smeared by ignorance. I think this induce hatred against people you know little or nothing about and it must stop for peaceful and harmonious co-existence.
PoliticsRe: The Myth and Gross Mis-perception Of SOUTH EASTERN NIGERIA by Scholes007(op):
the myth of south east has no mineral deposit
This is another lie that have been flying around in some quarters for years now. Sometimes i ask myself do some people even research before believing bullsh¡ts. Can't people remember that there was once when coal was like crude oil in nigeria, can't they remember there was a time when Nigercem was the major cement in the country, are the forgetting that abia and imo state wasn't included in nddc just for fun. Well i will take it that those found to believe this lie are ignorant and needs to be enlightened.
PoliticsRe: The Myth and Gross Mis-perception Of SOUTH EASTERN NIGERIA by Scholes007(op):
The myth of igboland ends south east.
it is always said when lie/any evil is repeated over time it becomes a culture/belief. This can be liken to the devious lie spread in some quarters that igbos are only in south east. Some new atlas (the ones from hungry author) have falling cheaply into this mis leading perception.
Igboland/territory is any place that has ndi igbo as aborigins. Hence igbos are not only in south east but are also in south south region. Some will come with this known theory of ikwere denied their igboness, but that is a very big lie that has been left to grow to the extent of misleading some indigens in rivers state. If you ask, the person to tell you who is ikwere he will be beating around the bush but if the same person is told okechukwu amadi stole he will be quick to tag it igbo without asking where okechukwu is from. This lie cannot be allowed anymore to grow as it has been the root of all mis-fortune of the great igboland.

thank you my brother, i have been begging most of my brothers on this forum to refute any information that could lead to misleading perception of this great region with facts and less insult. The protection of this region and its potentials is in our hands.

THE MYTH ABOUT SOUTH EAST AND AGRICULTURE
most ignorant nigerians who maynot have been to south east have this belief that south east has acidic and infertile red soil which is not suitable for agriculture. Some even think that the little fertile land available will be carried away by erosion. Contrary to this belief(myth), south east soil is very fertile and viable for any agricultural purpose that pertain to tropical rainforest, freshwater swamp forest and forest savanna.
Some people might have some doubt with this claims, but testimonies of viability of agricultural activities in recent times should at least be able to remove some doubt if not all. The amount of agricultural and agro-allied investment in the region especially Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu states has a valued estimate of over $2billion in less than 5years.(2011-till date). "Oops", some will say, "here they go again with billions of dollars" others may say scornfully, but the truth remains that this value is for those investment viewed as mega.

This is not to massage some ego or measure d¡ck but it is a call to my igbo brothers and other potential investors to look towards agricultural potentials of this region, for us to have sustainable development.

Mr MORNDEW, last time i checked south easterns has been the ones that criticize their leaders more than any group. You can always see that online and offline. You were too quick to call T.A.ORji who his people call a failure, who always get disgraced by his people... Now tell me other region that can do it.(except ss).

You talked about education right? Well that depends on if you are comparing south east with usa. Data on education development in nigeria has always shown that se is not found wanting(by nigeria standard.). Others maybe bringing up waec result as their base for...

how sure are you about that?,so where are the monies from these rd projects coming from? No tell me ta Orji saved cash for ikpeazu
i know it might sound strange to you but abia for many years have not (never) been disclosing their IGR. Aba has a very high revenue generation potential which have been looted by our leaders. The only thing we often hear from them is that we only generate #600 million and #3000 is been collected from more than 100,000 shops in aba a month alone. We are not talking about the amount collected from tri cycle drivers daily talk less of industries. Umuahia, ohafia and other sub cities are also money bags

I sincerely hope Ikpeazu is applying the approved loans on income generating infrastructure; as he may have to swiftly run back to the state assembly for another tranche of multi billion naira loan! Abia state is not Lagos remember, with a very high IGR. He shouldn't leave an astronomical debt burden for the state.
aside the bailout loan of #14billion i don't think anyother loan have been collect yet

It is at best FANTASY and at worst a STUPID LIE
this is rather becoming too childish. Let me ask you a question. If you are to purchase a cloth from possible 5 places and the worth of the transaction is 50 naira what will you tell people if you are asked. Sometime i wonder why most people choose to live in this delusive sit of i sabi pass you. Calm down you will see nothing is wrong with that statement of $5 billion. It means the expected transaction in nigeria. Bring up some more things that made you to term people liars so that we can iron it out once and for all, at least it will help us look at things without hatred, bitterness and anger.

Frozen snails and all sorts Even Orijin and Nigerian Guiness. No one makes noise about these things so do not let anyone deceive you
did you miss this place in the article......Confirming this to newsmen in Lagos, ABX World Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Captain John Okakpu, said that the gesture was capable of generating jobs, eliminating poverty and restoring investors’ confidence in the State. Capt. Okakpu added that they are working with other partners, Arik Air and SAHCOL to ensure that about seventy-five (75) farm products of which Ugu- pumpkin leaf tops the list, are exported from Nigeria to Europe and rest of the world.

He expressed optimism that the project will create millions of jobs in the country as more States queue-in into it. He said:
