Good day all, I wouldn't wanna bore you all with a long story.
I've been dating this girl for 2years and we stay in different towns but I normally visit her at any given opportunity.

On Thursday after Easter, I decided to travel down to her place and see her, I'm close to her family so I just went straight to their home instead of staying in a hotel.

When I got to the house I met one of her aunt who doesn't know me,she was scolding her brother and asking him how he'll allow such abomination happen under his nose,that my girlfriend and her cousin have been having an affair for almost a year now and they just kept quiet about it.

Later in the day,I decided to talk to my girlfriend.
I didn't want to go ask her about the incest stuff because it seems the family don't want people to know about it and I don't want her to know that I have an idea, so I just asked her if she's seeing someone else to which she replied NO.

I also asked her when last she had sex, and she just laughed and said that its not necessary.

I left for my place the next day and I've not called her or picked her call, I'm so confused and need lots of advice.

Please I'll appreciate matured comments.

Hello good people, please i need ur candid advice, I have been in this relationship for 5yrs now, but there has always been a major problem, my boyfriend cages me, Anytime I tell him I'm going for an occassion(weddings,birthdays,e.t.c)or to my family members place he always insists I should not go and when I ask why he will always scold me and tell me I have no right to 'ask him why'. Normally I'm an introvert, but he makes matters worse, I have no friends, nobody at all. I'm at the verge of leaving that relationship. He even tells me sometimes that when we get married, I wouldn't work, when anybody calls me on phone he will tell me to put the call on loudspeaker, he is hot tempered, I don't even know how I survived 5yrs with him. Currently we are not in talking terms because I violated his order by going out for a training and not coming back home at the time he said I should. Please i just need your advice because I don't even have anybody to talk to. Thanks and have a Blessed day!

it was just like a film to me ,wen my fiancee became jealous over a stuff his male neighbor bought for me,is not like I didn't tell him about that stuff but because of over jealousy,he started beating me and calling me all sorts of names,and he really beat hell out my body,saying i shouldnt have collected it,because the guy is making advances at me and he knows that, now he is asking me to forgive him that it was the devil,he didn't know wen he did that,and promised never to do that again.

I was based in Abuja. Last year, i was on Facebook when a guy chatted me up. Normally i hardly respond to chats, buh on that fateful day i was kinda bored so i responded. He was really excited cos he has been tryin to chat with me for some months now. We got talkin and after about a month, i started having feelings for him(though i didnt let him know). He started askin me to come visit him in Ibadan, but i declined cos i know it's dangerous. Within 2 weeks, he visited me. Ever since then, our relationship has been very okay. He is a great guy, he has his flaws though, buh who is perfect? I have known almost all his family members and they all love me. My family has known him too and they love him. Now the relationship is no longer online because my company has transferred me to Ibadan and we see almost every weekend. Very soon we will tie the knots.
Though in many cases, online dating has proven to be dangerous but mine has been an exception. It takes the grace of God get a good and compatible partner be it online or otherwise.

When we heard this we were so dumpfolded and surprised that we didn't believed him until the babe showed up and we heard them discussing and crying together inside his room.

My guy is so confused now because he said the girl is with him at his parents house and the new guy is still calling her babe. He have told the girl to choose between him and the other guy, but her babe was just crying and begging that it won't repeat itself again.

Pls my guy said he's confused, that should he continue do the introduction his planning or breakup with her, he fears this is what she might be doing when he married her completely, cheating on him.

So my people pls your advice is strongly needed because I don't want him to embark on what he will live to regret that his friend did not advice him well.

Growing up as a Nigerian female, you're told to sit, talk, act and respond to situations in certain ways or you'll be branded as "unladylike". Women are conditioned in a certain way and most of us have adhered to these rules.

Notwithstanding, these questions have always been a puzzle to me, other women and, I suspect, even men:


1. Why do men feel they should be forgiven when they cheat on their women but the rules change when these same women cheat on them, even once or just emotionally?

2. Why do contemporary men insist women share the bills but they think it beneath them to help out in domestic chores?

3. Why should a man be hailed by his friends for bragging about his sexual encounters with women but they slut-shame a woman who's honest about her escapades with a man she's into?


4. Why do Nairaland men insult a woman who's liberal in her views but cheer on a guy who says lewd things about women?

5. Why do men generalize all women as "_bitches" and '_hoes" but take offense when allusions are made to their female relatives being the same?

Even on this thread, some men would prove me right but the question is: WHY THE DOUBLE STANDARDS?
