This is APC constitution section 13.5 xiv. Organize Primary Election forthe nomination of its Presidential Candidates, Governorship Candidates and Candidates for election into the National and State Assemblies.

You’re just arguing baseless. From your last sentence it shows that you yourself know that Obaseki is a goner in this upcoming APC primary. And mind you PDP can’t give him the party ticket with dividing the party also. Except he defect to another party he will not participate in the election.

I’ve telling those comparing this case with Zamfara and Rivers the same thing. But they choose not to understand they’re different cases. In rivers it is the ward congress conducted in 2018 that made them lose out because there were 2 parallel congresses. Most of them supporting Obaseki knows that he is a goner but they won’t say the truth because of their hatred for Oshiomhole or they’re novice. The electoral act as amended gave the NWC right to choose the mode of primary and submission of candidate to INEC.

And again, stop saying the law supports the NWC to determine the mode of primary because it is already causing controversy and dilemna. The party national deputy chairman accused the chairman of irregularities.
If you are observant, you will know this will lead to court and the case will end up as the case of Rivers or Zamfara.

The party deputy chairman is complaining about the the party national secretary and not the mode of primary. Obaseki is gone as far as the primary is concerned.

Bro, I disagree with you. It depends on their agreement, if not Rivers and Zamfara NWC results would have stand.

You got it wrong. What happened in Rivers and Zamfara is that there are 2 parallel congresses to vote the state excos. In the case of Edo the NWC has choose direct primary for the governorship election. If Obaseki like he should boycott the direct primary and organize his own election INEC will not accept his name. The amended electoral law gave the NWC power to choose the mode of primary and also so submit the candidates names to INEC.

You’re just arguing wrongly. Try and do more research on direct primary and you will see that Obaseki have no chance. And that’s the reason his sponsored state excos came out to say they will organize indirect primary which is now illegal and INEC will not be part of it. Because it’s in the electoral act amended that only the NWC can choose the mode of primary.

You’re just comparing to different situations. Edo will go the same way of Ogun and Imo. INEC will not recognize the primary that will be conducted by the state APC. What happened in Zamfara and Rivers states is not about primaries but about state party congress that produced the delegates that voted at the party indirect primaries. The NWC has avoid that issue by recommending direct primary and that means all the APC members will choose the party flag bearers including the factions. So far you’re a registered APC member you will vote in the primary. That’s where Obaseki will lose out because he can’t buy all the voters.

Oga the indirect method directly favours the person in charge of security, ambode failed because he had no structure of his own even his deputy and members of his government deserted him but in obasekis case only his loyalist are in government and well empowered.

Believe me in the primaries results from areas where obaseki looses will be discarded as it happened in kano and osun.

If you don’t know something please seek more knowledge. The NWC is the only legal body to write INEC and inform them their mode of primary. The direct primary is when the posters of the candidates are pasted and party members line up behind their preferred candidate, the results will be announced there immediately and this is what will happen in the whole wards of the state. There’s no delegate participating in the direct primary and that’s where Obaseki will lose out.

You forgot Collation of result will go through many stages and the security agents will have a say as it was done in kano and osun states.

This is not a general election. The results will be announced ward by ward. All party members will line up behind the posters of the contestants and the counting will be done there and results released immediately. There’s nothing like collation center because it is not general election. Obaseki can’t win this INEC will not supervise the indirect primary the State party want to do because it is the NWC that will write INEC the date and mode of primary.

The NWC didn’t erred. It is now that it’s the turn of Edo people want to change the rule. In Bayelsa APC lost out because it is the NWC not the NEC that determine the mode of primary and submitted the names to INEC. In Ogun and Imo NWC decide the mode of primary. What the Edo APC are doing now is just effort in futility. Obaseki should start sponsoring another party so that after the APC primary he can just move to that party. All odds are against Obaseki the day Oshiomhole escaped his removal as the party chairman and the death of Abba Kyari.

You forgot that this is not a delegate election. It is all the registered card carrying APC members that will vote. As it is now the Governor can’t buy all the members. Remember what happened to Ambode.

Oshimhole will allocate figures for his preferred candidate during the Direct primary and Obaseki might boycott the Direct primary to conduct his own parallel Indirect primaries and Inec will not be on ground to monitor it.. Another thing that will work against Obaseki is that only the NWC can submit the names of party flag bearers and this is the Reason the NWC came out with the Direct Primaries in order to inflate the figures in Oshiomhole's favor.... All in all Obaseki is gone as far as this primary is concerned.

He's downfall will be worse than Ambode, reason been that Ambode did not have any Abuja Godfather fighting for him. Obaseki has tried everything to bring Oshiomhole down to the extent of using the late COS and the cabal to remove Oshiomhole as the party chairman but now He has failed. If He like himself he should just send one of his trusted man to another party to obtain the parrty nomination while He is still fighting the APC battle so that when He lost out in APC He can go to that party and swap the nomination. Obaseki is fighting and shooting his bullets all at once.

Obaseki is running faster than his shadow.. The Electoral Law has mandate the NWC of parties to submit the names of party nominees.. Obaseki should learn from Imo and Ogun state where Inec only accept the names submitted by NWC of the parties. By sponsoring the state excos to go against the NWC directives will be his early downfall because by the time He will move from one court to another the time to submit and exchane names will have elapse.. As it is now the odds are not in Obaseki's favor. Interesting time ahead in Edo APC.

Name your state and let us know how much it generate in 3 months. What Lagos generate in 3 month might be what your state will make in a year and half.

By 2023 the NW would have spent 16 years both as the President and the VP. President Yaradua 3 years, Namadi Sambo 5 years as VP and PMB 8 years as president. This is democracy and nobody can stop any region from competing for the presidency, what you should be talking about is how those regions that are yet to get into that position should form alliance.
