This is not about Rivers state or Wike... Food is on the essential list but why did Wike choose to deny food stuff into the state all in the name of Lockdown. Let us stop playing politics with everything.. As at today Wike is a governor of a state under the Federal republic of nigeria and i don't think He is supposed to be going against the FG directives all the time..... We all see how other states detain or return the Almajiris and give pass to the trailers conveying the foodstuffs but the case in Rivers State is the opposite. He seized the trailers with goods and even boasted that he will auction them.... Ships are on the high sea and can't berth at the ONNE port just because Wike arrested the port workers who reside inside PH and they're among the essential workers which the FG gave pass to.

During Lockdown Governor Wike did not allow food items to enter the State. Not even from the neighboring states of Bayelsa, Abia and Imo... Other State Governor allow food to enter their states. This is not about Rivers state alone the FG gave a directive that food is part of Essential materials and Governor Wike choose to only become authority among the state Governors.

As for the papers, I need to recheck these. I have non-factory tint and I have a tinted permit already. I learnt that I will also need a doctor's report as well. Don't know how true that is cos I have never been asked that so far. But I am already processing one sha to ensure I don't get delayed unnecessarily.

Make sure the Doctor's report is back dated to a week before the permit is issued.

From reading some of posts here I have an impression that there are many interstate travelers in here.

Please, I will be embarking on a road trip from Lagos to Abakaliki after the interstate movement ban is lifted. I wish to know how the road is cos I will be driving down. Will it be wise to drive Honda EOD for this trip?

Get all your papers updated, if your car is tinted please make sure you have a valid permit, if this is your first time going on this journey alone please make sure you are not overspeeding because there are some deep port holes on the road, between ondo and Edo state you will encounter over 25 check points some will just ask for your papers while majority will ask you to find them something i will advise have 100 and 200 naira notes totaling about 3k to 5k. follow commercial buses and make sure your Google Map is also available... Pray the day you will travel there won't be much traffic at the Niger bridge head.. And also don't park anyhow in any of the cities so that the Agberos won't use you chop.... Safe Journey

Success is different from method.

Success is measured by the number of cases a cosmopolitan state like River has vis-a-vis other similar states like Lagos, Ogun, Kano, Kaduna. Now I don't support thuggery or violence and other sort of criminality in the name of enforcing restrictions. But do you think such behaviour will abate or increase in the absence of the Police?

Now with the removal of policemen from the task force they will now approach people with respect because as it is now they vulnerable, unlike before they will act with impunity and those useless policemen will threaten the innocent citizens with their guns.... Now that there is no police protection it will be hard for the task force members to slap or assault anybody because they know what they will get in return. Interesting times ahead in rivers state and we the law abiding citizens are waiting to see how things will unfold.

You're getting it wrong.. The IG did not remove the police from the borders what he did was to remove the policemen escorting the state task force.. imagine all the 36 states are using police escort in all the 774 LGAs to escort state covid-19 task force....

I don't know how other states are operating. But I do know there have been mixed results and River State Covid Task Force is largely successful in managing the infection rates in the State. If teh Police Escorts contribute in this success why tamper with a winning combo just so you can show you have the power to.

I don't support Wike demolishing of the Hotel, and several of his brusque methods and I believe the FG has other method of resolving this things. Maybe even a Phone Call from the President may suffice. But experimenting with winning combo only put lives at risks and could hamper the overall efforts to curb the virus spread.

The taskforce is successful?Are you living in PH? The so called task force consist of OSPAC, COmmunity thugs and Party loyalist who are going around assulting people with the protection of police. There is restrictions on interstate movement but a mobile policeman is helping someone I know to go deliver a car.... As a matter of fact, I'm sure he has already gotten to his destination as we speak cos he drove away right in my front. Is it not his colleagues that are on the road and would issue him a pass despite the fact that interstate travels are banned?

When the Former CP was doing Wike's bid he said it on live TV that we the citizen should not complain about police collecting bribe at the borders because if we are there also we will do the same. 2 weeks after the CP was changed and now he is saying something else.
