Please, I will be embarking on a road trip from Lagos to Abakaliki after the interstate movement ban is lifted. I wish to know how the road is cos I will be driving down. Will it be wise to drive Honda EOD for this trip?

Get all your papers updated, if your car is tinted please make sure you have a valid permit, if this is your first time going on this journey alone please make sure you are not overspeeding because there are some deep port holes on the road, between ondo and Edo state you will encounter over 25 check points some will just ask for your papers while majority will ask you to find them something i will advise have 100 and 200 naira notes totaling about 3k to 5k. follow commercial buses and make sure your Google Map is also available... Pray the day you will travel there won't be much traffic at the Niger bridge head.. And also don't park anyhow in any of the cities so that the Agberos won't use you chop.... Safe Journey

Success is different from method.

Success is measured by the number of cases a cosmopolitan state like River has vis-a-vis other similar states like Lagos, Ogun, Kano, Kaduna. Now I don't support thuggery or violence and other sort of criminality in the name of enforcing restrictions. But do you think such behaviour will abate or increase in the absence of the Police?

Now with the removal of policemen from the task force they will now approach people with respect because as it is now they vulnerable, unlike before they will act with impunity and those useless policemen will threaten the innocent citizens with their guns.... Now that there is no police protection it will be hard for the task force members to slap or assault anybody because they know what they will get in return. Interesting times ahead in rivers state and we the law abiding citizens are waiting to see how things will unfold.

You're getting it wrong.. The IG did not remove the police from the borders what he did was to remove the policemen escorting the state task force.. imagine all the 36 states are using police escort in all the 774 LGAs to escort state covid-19 task force....

I don't know how other states are operating. But I do know there have been mixed results and River State Covid Task Force is largely successful in managing the infection rates in the State. If teh Police Escorts contribute in this success why tamper with a winning combo just so you can show you have the power to.

I don't support Wike demolishing of the Hotel, and several of his brusque methods and I believe the FG has other method of resolving this things. Maybe even a Phone Call from the President may suffice. But experimenting with winning combo only put lives at risks and could hamper the overall efforts to curb the virus spread.

If Wike makes allegation of bribery against the Police, such allegation should be investigated and those found culpable should be arrested. If Wike is found to have made false allegation, I'm sure there a provisions for dealing with such.

But withdrawing Police from Covid-19 Task Force is not only endangers the Task Force and Rivers Citizens, but it does endanger every Nigerian. It's far worse barbaric than Wike demolition of hotels.

Wike will now have to rush through a legislation to authorise another agency to take over the duties of protecting the Covid-19 Task Force. That's if River State doesn't have some sort of 'Vigilante' Corps. Surely he won't allow the FG to undermine his agenda to protect River State people.

Is Rivers State the only state with Covid-19 task force that they must move around with police escort? Even common illegal motor packing and street trading are going around with police escorts and assaulting the masses... Wike and PDP should stop politicising everything.

When Wike called out DCP Mohammed that he is collecting money and issuing movement pass to all and sundry and he is sabotaging the state government works. Same Wike said the police are the ones collecting bribe to allow people enter the state.
Same Wike said he is taking the FG to court for taking money to find Police from the FAAC account.
