The court can’t throw away the direct primary. Reason been that it is conducted by the National body of the party and all the factions in Edo participated in the primary. This case is same like Ogun and Imo. Obaseki and his camp knows this and that’s the reason they’re making accusations all the time.

If i am obaseki this matter is very easy for me with the rising cases of covid 19 in the state there is no way Ithe government will allowed direct system of voting in the primary election. All I need do is to increase the numbers to over one thousand before that day and call for a partial lockdown.
Then let me see how oshos and his gang will bring out all the APC members in the state to come and vote.

You’re funny If Obaseki tows this path, he will be burying his remain political relevance because this will give his opponents the opportunity to do what they like. They only come online to shout other regions don’t like them, but the hatred among themselves is so much that they don’t support themselves. OBJ contested the PDP primary in 1998 against Alex Ekwueme and majority of them votes for OBJ against their own.

Is the Governor that will organize primary election? Shuaibu should wait till the day of the primary. Obaseki will come far 3rd. Even if the court disqualify Ize-Iyamu, There will still be someone in the 2nd position and that won’t be Obaseki. This is a chess game and it’s not for the lousy mouths like Shuaibu and co.

See the face of one of those advising Obaseki. It shows that they’ve not learnt anything from the crises they’re in. This man is jealous of Oshiomhole’s achievement and that’s the reason they’re misleading Obaseki against his benefactor.

OP didn’t know that there are about 3 different cases in the court and those cases arises from the congress conducted in the State PDP. As at now there factions in Edo PDP the question is which faction will submit the candidates list to INEC. PDP is not ready for this election in Edo.

At first Obeseki goofed with that Gazzette. The election is a constitutional matter and theexecutive gazzette can’t over ride the constitution.
Now which security agency will make sure that his Gazzetted order is carried out?
This shows that Obaseki has lost this battle already and he should remember that after his tenure expired. They will come hard for him.

It’s now glaring that Obaseki is going down. Who advised him not to inaugurate those 14 members in the first place? Can those 14 members forgive and forget what happened knowing fully well that Obaseki is doing this to get the 2nd term ticket. And he will come out hard on all of them.
He lost this battle already.

The Court has ruled many times before now, even as close as December when 33 political parties told the Court to stop INEC from delisting them.
The Court said you cannot challenge an intent in Court.

The last time I checked this is a public forum, and you accusing me of jumping from thread to thread to attack Obaseki shows that you are biased.
Oshiomhole was able to fight Anenih because they’re not in the same party.
Obaseki didn’t think it through by fighting a Sitting National Chairman of his party when he knows that the same NWC headed by that man will organize and submit the name of the party flag bearer for the election.
This is a simple logic.

We told them that most of those with Obaseki will start decamping few days to the primary election. But they called us names.

Why can’t Obaseki submit his form at the Edo state APC secretariat if we want to go by his claim that only the state Exco can organize/decide the primary mode.
I like him as a person but he didn’t manage the crises within his party well and as it stands now the party can’t safe him.

There will be an electoral committee and the chairman is not part of that committee it will consist of APC Governors and other stakeholders. The election will have INEC in attendance

Before you say this try and read Article 13 of APC Constitution and you will know that NWC is bested with the power to organize the Governorship primary.

All your comments shows that you’re not ready to learn aside what you read online. The reason why APC lost Zamfara is because the 2 state factions organized their indirect primaries separately. And the NWC has avoid what happened in Zamfara by going for Direct Primary so that all party members irrespective of the faction they belong to will participate in choosing the party flag bearer. Try and study the case of Ogun and Imo where their Governors organizes their own tomatoes against the decision of the NWC and INEC/Court didn’t recognize them. Obaseki knows that he is gone and that’s the reason he has been running to Lagos and Abuja to beg people to please on his behalf for soft landing but as it is now nothing can safe him.

So will the election also be indirect because of crowd controlling? Direct primary is a true definition of democracy. Why is Obaseki scared of facing the whole APC members to choose the person to represent the party.

Where is it written in APC constitution.For I know that state chapters choose their own mode of Primaries and communicate same to NWC who then tables it at the NEC meeting for ratification.NWC has no say in the mode of Primaries.

Google the APC Constitution. Article 13v says the NWC shall organize the primary for the position of President, Governor and National Assembly seats.
The Edo APC chairman and Obaseki are just trying to play the victim card.

From the looks of things actually Obaseki has significant number of the state party machineries on his side and external alliances...while Ambode had no one even down to cleaners expert few his Epe people...Obaseki has guts and knows how to use his powers which also put him to advantage.

Obaseki has People who are not grass-root politicians. Those that can’t even win LGA election on their own and Obaseki has come to realize this in the last 1 month and that’s the reason he is running from Lagos to Abuja to beg those that have say in the party.
On the day of the primary election I can assure you that Obaseki will lost before 12pm because the forces against him are more than those with him. Also know that some of his loyalist will jump ship once it’s few days to the primary election, that’s if the election committee from Abuja did not disqualify him before the day of the election proper. Nigerian Politics is a dirty game and it’s meant for the shameless only.

You got it wrong. Indirect primary is where a candidate will dictate the outcome of the election.
Direct primary is where all the registered party members line up behind their preferred candidate. This is done ward by ward.
