Jaideyone: 1990-1914 is 76 years. you need serious maths lessons
and calabar was also the fct for some time. Lagos island (fct) is less that 5% of Lagos is landmass. are you telling me Lagos island is even as vlbig as Ikeja not to talk of Yaba, akoka, agege, abule egba, iyana ipaja? the lekki, vi, ajah that was even more developed were not part of the fct!!!
the first industrial estate in Nigerian was in Ikeja built by Awolowo!!! clown I can educate you
ok. 76 years...see the shit hole it is. No nnewi was even an industrial hub b4 ikeja. Aba was an industrial hub long b4 nnewi
Tundeobama: na lie go kill you which east?Yoruba have good numbers in delta,edo,rivers/ph,akwa ibom which they are all south south not south east everyone is avoiding so dry nothing economical. come ogun and oyo igbos thier are massive.
i never been to ss except ph. Neva been to sw except lagos. Never been to north except abj. I have encountered a lot of yoro ppl, hausa ppl and ss ppl in enugu
Jaideyone: Omo ale oniro actually Lagos was fct for 860 years
clown were other cities not also fct? what about calabar and Ibadan? what about Enugu?
you obviously don't know the difference between Lagos fct and Lagos state. the Lagos that was fct was Lagos island around marina (doesn't even include vi-ajah-ibeju lekki-epe). fct Lagos doesn't include Ikeja, ikorodu road, agege, mushin, akoka, Yaba, etc.
there was still Lagos state under the southwest regional government so all those crap about being fct helped Lagos develop is just bull shit.
the effort of Awolowo made Ikeja the first industrial hub in Nigeria!!!
so Lagos is Yoruba effort (at least 80%).
Lagos remains Yorubaland
lagos was fct from 1914 to 1990. Yes not all parts of lagos. But most developed parts of lagos were part of fct and no ikeja was not nigerias first industrial hub. It was fct lagos. Lagos is yoro land no doubt. But yoro effort? Maybe 40%
OMANBALA1: One thing that God had blessed Igbo land with is cash crops but how many governors are investing in cash crops. Oji ugolo Oji Igbo Udala Utu Oloma Ube Igbo Ube Oyibo Aku Oyibo..etc should be planted in millions and in about 30 years we will be so ffuccking rich but everybody want something that will be done today. Our leaders are lazy and visionless. My father had a kola nut tree that brought so much money into our house and this was just one tree.
i tell u o bro. We have hundred of acres of fallow 'community lands' in enugu. Why not plant various cash crops on them. We would have a big agric gdp plus a green state.
How costly can it be...compared to wat can be gained from it
OMANBALA1: We love vegetation but the perennial neglect our environment suffered because of bad leadership is the reason why nobody seems concerned. We need leaders who can sensitize and encourage us to keep and clean our environment and when this is done and everywhere starts looking lush and beautiful we will come to appreciate the importance of vegetation. Good leadership goes a long way.
if u come to dubai and see the billions they spend to keep their desert nation green, u will weep for nigeria. We have one of the best weathers in the world. Why cant we plant more trees and grasses after we tarr roads?
Jaideyone: lol so Lagos is not part of the southwest? even if you remove Lagos, ogun is miles ahead of any south east state
lagos was fct for 86 yrs bro...u can only compare it with abuja...tomorrow hausa ppl will be claiming say dem too develope abuja like yoros are claiming u developed lagos.
Ogun state is not doing better than anambra under any index. Me am from enugu.
Abagworo: Nice thread. One of the major problems affecting trade in Igboland is lack of proximal seaports as those in neighbouring coastal communities have not been properly utilized as a result of insecurity and vested interest making all commerce basically Lagos dependent for Igbos.
This makes the ongoing building of the largest air cargo handling facility in West Africa at a community near Owerri one of the most vital projects in Igboland as it serves as a direct access to international trade. The interesting thing is that the storage facilities are being built for perishables which will make for easy import and export of agricultural, medical and other perishables easier for people of the Southeast and beyond. The project to the best of my knowledge is at the finishing stage and should soon be ready for bidding.
the south west is better in GDP, industrialisation, IGR, mineral resources, contribution to the federal purse, etc
our governors are over taxing us yet your brothers are running down to the south west
we see Ibo men all over the south west even ondo and ekiti
why are your people leaving your land and moving in droves to mine? it's the same reason you won't resist the idea of working in the US. there are more opportunities in the south west and the south west is eons ahead of the south east case closed
lol the 2 story building in front of my house in enugu is only rented by yoruba families...and the house na igboman get am o. Thats enugu o.
Yoruba full onitsha aba and ph like crazy. The only reason we dont talk about it or gloat about it like u guys is that we realise that all people seek out opportunities outside their domain. Its part of life.
Plus we are not as childish as u guys. I used to fvck the daughter in one of the families. She is from kwara..kinda dirty tho...but still good pvssy
the south east/ss collision against the south west is only a fringment of your imagination. I've work in calabar for two years. stop clinging to the south south like slaves!!!
stand for your region and tell us how you are better than the south west I dey wait o
i repeat...there are 3 zones in the south...the better south are 2 of the 3. Se and ss.
U know this bro...why argue. Besides enugu looks better than oyo state...and anambra is considered a big commercial hub than ogun state. Ur govs are ovee taxing u in the west and quoting huge igr...but nothing on ground to show wat they do with all that money. Ebonyi is doing better than ekiti.. imo state is better respected than ondo state..all u have is lagos which is a mini nigeria...i will take rivers state over lagos anyday and rivers is 50% igbos
Jaideyone: lol from the way you jumped into the thread you are from the south east and very typical of the Ibo man you've attached yourself to the south south
maintain your south east and tell us how you are better than the south west
clown
i have told u who the better south are. Where i come from dont matter. But ask other people who the better south are
Ioannes: And who or what is the Oduduwa Development whatever?
Have you heard of them before? I certainly haven't. Mention one person you know from this group.
I on the other hand can grow through your previous posts for example and show you where you've supported corrupt public officials.
I can also go through the posts of others like you and show you same. But I'd rather not sift through your garbage, thanks.
Don't take every criticism as hatred of your tribe. Once you understand that, you'll grow. But pride and the thought that your tribe is perfect makes you all bristle when we point out the truth.
can u mention any recognised igbo body who fought for an igbo politician indicted on corruption?
Ioannes: So it is the Yorubas that is stopping Buhari from investigating Adeosun or firing her? Try and get some sense.
Even you know what I said is the truth and you aren't even denying it.
Igbos on this forum are famous for supporting crooked politicians like Saraki and Dino Melaye. It's even worse if that politician is from the east. No insult intended to Igbo members on this forum. I'm only stating an obvious fact. This isn't about Yoruba vs Igbo.
Igbos you need to start practicing polygamy, your population is dwindling fast. the north agenda is to keep up breeding kids until they take over the country and enact laws that the the majority will have a say. check out Syria,Lebanon, iraq, turkey. they all had Christians but where are they now. they've been chased out by Muslims by persecution.
polygamy is the best thing for igbos, let's check this out, there are more women than men if all the men decide to marry then they'll still be women remaining who won't be able to marry if it's all about monogamy. this women need to be looked after.
polygamy is not about men looking for wives but rather about women needing husbands.
secondly there's no place in the Bible that condemns polygamy, there are so many sisters in church without husbands getting old, this is necessary to save these women. the number of wives a man has is not a standard of holiness. John the Baptist father was a priest and served in the temple, he had two wives.
if you go to igboland, you'll see prostitutes everywhere, the truth is that these women will never marry. Is it not better to marry 2 or 3 wives that to indulge in extra marital affair, since extra marital affair is a sin before God and man.
In recent times we've seen NGO's come to Igbo land to share ideas about family planning I.e how to kill our babies but they never teach us on how to get babies considering most Igbo women are barren because thy enter marriage at an older age than other tribe before you know it, they enter menopause, so is the man supposed to freeze because his wife entered menopause early.
The NGO's in Igbo land are all about distributing truckloads of condoms every three months but they never do that in the north because it's rejected but they instead share food and clothing instead. The packet of condoms that they share in the east are 100 inside. this has stunted our growth as a tribe. If the igbos are willing to correct this trend, they need to start now.
When the children of Israel were in Egypt, they didn't use family planning neither did they use condoms, they were so populated that Pharaoh was afraid.
if we were not a minority, we won't be played by this country called Nigeria. we would become so many that when we enter a place we can never be resisted. sometimes I begin to believe that 10℅ statement.
The only solution to our marginalization is having more kids, let's start with five first. when I was young I used to hear that the child was brought up by the community. you don't need to have money, we can all help each other it should be a community thing. Everyone need to work together.
I was in the spirit when I was writing but i mistakenly deleted it so that's why it's cut and join. I couldn't go back to the way I wanted the write up to be and I don't write them down it just flows.
lastly I'm ready to debate anyone that says polygamy is banned in the bible. uchesecondus.
read this link below and you'll know this senator was telling the truth but he was mocked for it.
the truth is the Igbo can not risk being a minority in Nigeria.
i actually like this post.
In 2050, nigeria will be more populated than america...guess who that population will be? Hausa-fulani and yoruba alone will be 50% of that. The remaining 397 tribes including igbos will share the other 50%.
But then again nigeria wont have oil in 2050...so just imagine the shithole it would be by then
Best thing is to gather the igbo nation under ohaneze and actively pursue division of nigeria
achi4u: Hahahahah anumanu, that u are working in one of those outdated cyber Cafe doesn't make you a real human.
People that have cash here don't talk too much.
Mind you, one of us here is looking for at least 10 plots of land @250,000 per plot to set up a cattle ranching and you are here posting a pic with old CPU.
panafrican: Not true. The rampant corruption culture in Nigeria is not Buhari's fault. He cannot be the police officer at every corner of the road,, he cannot be the custom guard everywhere or the civil servant in all offices across this huge country with almost 200 million people. The only problem with Nigeria (and Africa in general) is this delusional need for "democracy" and separation of powers that prevents the man in charge from sending crooked folks before a firing squad. Had at least 40,000 crooked people faced a firing squad in Nigeria over a 4-year period, you can bet this country would have been lifted and would be striving today. Rawlings understood that, reason why he taught a lesson to Ghanaians. Let's all keep in mind a United Africa is doomed if we don't uproot corruption.
everything u said is true...but the idea that buhari has integrity is FALSE.
What is integrity? How does Buhari have it?
People are dying because of poor hospitals..he is in u.k receiving the best medical care...he has been president for 3 yrs...wat has he done for the medical sector?
How does buhari have integrity? Obj put more vips in prison than buhari has done in his 5 yr rule in this country...yet nobody is calling obj a man of integrity.
How does buhari have integrity when he has been championing mundane ideas like sharia and violence since 1999....Go and tell families who lost loved ones because he lost in 2011 that buhati has integrity..forgeting the country is multi ethnic and secular?
How does a man who orchestrated a coup against a civilian govt have integrity.
A man whose kids are married to billionaires and all schooled abroad. A man living in a mansion in abuja? U think he was getting money to vie for president 4 times from Holy Spirit?
Buharis integrity is political propaganda...not real.
horsepower101: Thank you. Never let evil and devilish hearted person/people discourage you from your passion. The character above has more than 10 nairaland accounts and he signs into them to like his own comments and make it look like people support him.
He even argues with himself using different accounts when he realizes everyone is ignoring him.
My brother don't be discouraged.
well i like the pics the bestview fool posted of onitsha...thats wat we need here...not dìck measuring of which state is best or posting silly stats up and down that has no real bearing on anything
Patrioticooduan: Yoruba people share more in common with Fongbes, Ewes and Ajahs. Fogbe men and women dress like Yoruba. We don't share anything in common with Ibos and Hausas. Igbos look like central Africans e.g Congolese, while Hausa and Fulanis look Black North Africans e.g Malians. We should not be in the same country. May Eledumare continue to bless Yoruba race. Ashe.
yeap...we Igbos dont have anything in common with yoruba or hausas.
