I've been going through Marx's statements on Wikipedia, and it seems to relate with the Nigeria situation. In his time, Marx understood the effect religion has on the masses in making them illusioned with expectations. This illusion helps them forget their immediate suffering and enslaves them to doctrines which are purely irrational. Read this: "Marx was making a structural functionalism argument about religion, and particularly about organized religion.[3][4] Marx believed that religion had certain practical functions in society that were similar to the function of opium in a sick or injured person: it reduced people's immediate suffering and provided them with pleasant illusions which gave them the strength to carry on. Marx also saw religion as harmful, as it prevents people from seeing the class structure and oppression around them, thus religion can prevent the necessary revolution.arx was making a structural functionalism argument about religion, and particularly about organized religion.[3][4] Marx believed that religion had certain practical functions in society that were similar to the function of opium in a sick or injured person: it reduced people's immediate suffering and provided them with pleasant illusions which gave them the strength to carry on. Reflecting on the above statements, its beginning to get clear why Nigeria is the way it is- highly religious, yet highly undeveloped |
bamirotola:Diet should be able to provide a solution |
Salmoneus:Your kind with lack of home training are the main problem of Nigeria. The same way your parents couldn't train you on how to talk, is the same way the parents of the 7 year old girl couldn't train her on how to dress. You end up destroying the social system, but transfer the blame on others. FYI I'm a Christian, but the truth will always remain that Muslims got it right on proper dressing for women than christians. And maybe also on alcoholism. I know people like you don't like to hear the truth. |
Lucifer66:Don't mind those talking against the men. The same reaction the laps of a 25 year old lady produces to the sight of a sex hungry man will be produced by the laps of a 7 year old girl. That's the only thing I like about Islam, they understand that the body of a woman is holy and FORCE them to cover it properly. Naturally, women like to walk around naked. Except maybe the elderly ones who have nothing to show. It happens naturally, because that's the only way they can attract a male fool to come satisfy their numerous desires for them. |
Things are changing. Girls who don't want to be caged inside marriage can now get a boyfriend, have sex until they "fell pregnant", deliver the baby and come to church for dedication. And continue enjoying their free life. The era of marriage is fast coming to an end |

Faithway10:If it takes a second man to impregnate Tonto, then what is she? |
NwaAmaikpe:Does it mean you do not appreciate this beautiful and happy family? What's the essence of marriage if not for love and happiness? But to you it seems the essence is to obey your mom, your siblings and your tradition, and then live in bondage. I've always looked forward to reading your comments. But think about this one more carefully. |

The first official assignment sanwo olu should undertake after being sworn in as governor is to dismantle whatever political structure Tinubu is using to control Lagos. If not, he'd be the next victim come 2023 |
Kemi is a business woman who makes money from attention. Also she's a member of church of Satan in level 999. She's been commissioned to prepare the way for the coming of the Antichrist by spreading lies and rumors. |
TheSorrowfulMan:That would be wicked of her. What does she need a tower for? There are more important things to do with money. |
MexxIT:You need to understand how traditions evolve. Its usually an idea started by one person, usually a person with the authority figure, who influence others to accept and practice it without questions. Some traditions are useless and should be done away with as the people become civilized. It also takes one person to start the process of doing away with it. Virtually corruption has become a tradition for Nigerian public office holders. It took one man in Ghana to do away with the tradition of corruption. We need such a person here in Nigeria |
MexxIT:Who is laban, Jacob's father in-law? A greedy and evil man. Its his kind of people that Satan will use to establish such evil tradition. Is that who you want to follow his footsteps? The same spirit is what made Judas sell his master Jesus, and we see that a lot in a Igbo land. Imagine what will happen if Judas were to be your father in-law. Igbo's must rise and fight against this unbiblical and satanic tradition Marriage is not supposed to be used as an avenue to make financial gains. Its this very spirit of using humans for financial gains that motivated Omenuko and his cohorts to start slave trade in old bende. Its evil and against the will of God for humanity. The right way is the way Rebekah father did. Receive good will gifts from your in-law according to their strength. Never impose heavy burden on them. |
CuTTiieAngeL:When has humans become a commodity for sale? That's what the Igbo tradition does. It sets a price on you and your daughters and that's evil and unbiblical. |
CuTTiieAngeL:There's no marriage list in the bible. The West don't have a marriage list too. Its Satan that brought the concept of marriage list to Igbo tradition fueled by the spirit of greed and wickedness |
When Abraham wanted to get a wife for his son, Isaac, he instructed his servant on where to go get the wife from. Definitely not from the Canaanites, because of their way of life. The servant eventually met Rebekah, who brought him to her father's house where the marriage was contracted. What caught my interest was the manner in which the marriage was celebrated, as compared to what is obtainable today in Igbo land. 1. The marriage was celebrated strictly within the lady's immediate family. There was no umunna, umuada, or any extended family of any sort. 2. There was no marriage list. The bride's father accepted the gifts given to her by Abraham's servant. Considering the burden being placed upon intending couples as a result of exorbitant lists, its becoming clear that this tradition is unbiblical and satanic in nature. It adds no real values to the parties involved but only serves as a means of delaying divine purpose in the lives of young people who have attained marriageable age as well as impoverishing them. Its high time churches and christians in Igbo land begin to speak out out against this unbiblical and satanic tradition. |
" The army of the zoo killed my dog Jack and few other people in my compound... " - Nnamdi Kanu (21st October, 2018) As I was going through the live broadcast of Nnamdi Kanu, I was only interested to hear what he would say about those his loyalist who were killed by the Nigerian army. To my utmost disappointment, he had no regard for them. In fact, he honored his dog, Jack more than those people who lost their lives defending him. To him, the Nigerian army came to his father's compound and killed his dog, Jack, and a few others. I wonder why my Igbo brothers are so foolish to read in between the lines. This is a man who led others to lose their lives, while he saved his and that of his wife and children. Yet he could not as much as feel remorseful for the destinies he destroyed but equates their lives to that of his dog, Jack. Even honoring his dog more than them by mentioning his dog before them. They are just a few others. Any Igbo man following Nnamdi Kanu by now should have his head examined by a psychiatric. |
