This is a useful argument.

Here's my take:

The people wanted a change of the system of governance from prophets to kings. They chose to have a change of system of governance, and a change of governance itself. God acceded to that change and brought Saul. We can therefore say that God chose Saul, even if He didn't choose the system he emerged from.

Now, if we apply this to our political situation, Pastor Suleiman would be wrong. Here's how;

Nigerians wanted a change of system of governance from PDP, and a change of govt from Johnathan's. If we follow the Saul analogy, then God was the one that chose Buhari. QED.


P.s. in furtherance of the analogy, Saul didn't last on the throne and was replaced by David, a prophet and king (who had played for Saul to help him sooth his worries); can we say.....

@Puresolutions what other interpretation do you want, or are you trying to say there were no prophecy from God to anoint him, forget about your teaching. I have been backing all my points with Bible reference from the book of Samuel, why can't you do thesame? there was another prophecy from God to Samuel after Saul decline the Lords instructions. It's a construction process thing. It is better to construct the piers/columns and their appurtenances in the same location and at the same period than first constructing the piers over several kilometers only to move all the machinery back to point zero to start constructing other attachments.

This process removes the cost, risk and time of moving the machinery (and material, and man power) about.

I was going to ignore the thread, but the overwhelming ignorance of Nigerians would not let me. I blame the Nigerian government. Because the government does not actually cumaut its people, it does nothing to accurately share and teach the history of the various groups. If you go to other countries you will see how the academia has treated research into their own local histories, yet Nigerians (for all their talk about being educated) act like apes.

Well, actually history was taught in secondary schools before now. At least I know my parents were taught. We even still have some if their text books (or what's left if it).

Maybe it was stopped because it would be difficult to teach the history of all the different tribes (it was simpler during my parents' time cos they were just taught the benin, oyo, ibadan and ashanti empires, imagine if they have to add 200 more tribes to satisfy quota system)and also that some tribes have more info on their history than others. History will become politics if some part with more info are taught more than other parts with less info to teach about.

Besides this, the civil war is still a sore point in some parts of the country, you can imagine the history classes on those topics...emotional, heated, with each account labelled as biased or untrue cos it doesn't conform with such person's view of their history.

It's threads like this that really annoy me. The general Nigerian populace should be aware by now of the fact that Igbo people do not historically form a single block of people until colonization. No joint military action occurred between "Igbo" and other Nigerians until the Biafran war. That was a loss. Before this, most interaction "Igbo" communities had in pre-recorded history was between them and other "Igbo" communities.

Most interaction, such as settlement in what is now called "Igboland", was pretty laissez-faire. Heterogeneous hamlets, villages and townships were formed without much intervention and disturbance. It was rare for any fighting to occur across town lines, as such it was rare to see any sort of large scale militaristic mobilization. At the "fringes" (something that did not exist until colonization), there are scores of townships and villages which constitute various hamlets of various settlement history and very few record any major conflicts that exceed family feuds.

To that extent, "Igbo" communities do not share history, despite this "Igbo" label people keep using. So, it should come as no surprise then why most Igbo cannot recall a single battle fought against other Nigerian groups. Most Igbo communities did not fight battles against other Nigerian groups, period. And where a historical battle did occur, its relevance was limited only to the communities which were involved.

And until this day, nothing in pre-recorded history is shared as an aspect of modern "Igbo" history. No one should expect to hear much about pre-recorded historical battles between "Igbo" and "non-Igbo".

The op asked a very simple question. It was an opportunity for our Igbo brothers to proudly reel off their history and confidently educate us on their past conquests; but all I've seen as response here are insults on the op and the Yoruba tribe.

This is the culture section. Igbos should come and teach us their history. Else we'll just assume they either don't know it or that there was no history to tell in the first place...

Hmmm. You're sure this isn't pile foundation? I can see pile heads with grade beams on top; with the spaces between the pile heads filled with weak concrete to support the grade beam reinforcement and help form a good level.

I am my "brothers" house. He is working a night shift at the hospital right now, but my friends are all feeling very strongly about not being alone right now. I'm with his wife and mom. One of their friends who is a professional counsellor stopped by and I talked to him about it. He had some input, and so did my brothers mom. The counsellor said it sometimes happens that African guys come here and will just mess around with a girl with no real intentions. He said he would talk to him, but he seems very confused about what he wants, and I am fortunate he is doing this without taking years from me. He also knows the African community here and said he highly doubts his mom is the problem. He thinks it is his pastors wife. She is very controlling, and he has seen a lot of young people do poorly, get confused, and loose direction, because of her influence. Sometimes they can get help and find their feet again. He told me if that is the case, and this woman is the influence behind this, he can either teach me to act holy in a way this woman will love, OR this woman has found another girl for my boyfriend. . . Who is African, from a well off family, etc. he said he will talk to him, and see if he can get a feel for what is happening. He also said he would take me by this pastor lady's business so I can see her interaction with people so I can understand.

When he left, my brothers mom said he will talk to my boy, but she really thinks he will probably end up finding someone else for me. He told me to focus on my licensing exam, said he was worried I would give this boy too much of my emotional energy. I got all defiant and said I was by golly passing my boards. . . I lost everything and graduated. I was passing my boards, because I was never going to be homeless again. He was happy to see it. When he left, my brothers mom said that she doesn't know what is happening with my boy, but that i shouldn't take him back. Whatever he is doing, he is lying to me. She doesn't believe a word of it, and he is not trustworthy.

I am starting to feel there is an overwhelming bit of counsel that are concerned with my wellbeing with this boyfriend. As I think back on things, some things he has said-- minor things-- that contradicted each other, so him lying wouldn't be utterly beyond the realm of possibility. The thing I'm struggling with is the possibility that I completely fell for the act. If there IS another girl, I hope that becomes clear, because it will remove any disappointment, but given the fact that my brother immediately got suspicious of another girl, and now what I'm being told about the people in his life. . . I'm not sure I could ever trust him again.

Atiku or Kwankwaso are more of mythical symbols than their actual prowess, I used to believe Kwankwanso was so "big" , it's the power tussle between him and Ganduje that taught me a thing or two.... Ganduje's mere allegation (political antics i believe) that Kwankwanso was working against Buhari in Abuja, dropped his Kwankwansiyya stock like you wouldn't believe, bear in mind that his 2011 campaign posters carried Buhari's CPC image, which goes to show that part of his mystic has been his Buhari alignment, just like Yuguda, who is now claiming PDP is evil....

Atiku is more social media and southern politician, even in his north east, his featherweight status is indubitable...

I know better than to make absolute statements but 99% sure neither of these people will go far if their movement is in opposition to Buhari, especially in the NORTH.. #fact..

If you read my first post here you'd see I was just giving the perspective of each side. What one person took lightly, the other took seriously and vice versa. I honsetly don't think I'd go into an online marketing without first tying up all loose ends on my part.

The op also admits she was impatient, and while she does not want to adduce this to naivety (she may think I'm trying to insult her, but I'm not); showing full pics of finished labelled products (which is what she's selling) and just letting him know the size in ml or litres would have discouraged anyone from inferring a dubious motive.

In fact, she should have introduced her product online with full labelled pics.

Trying to promote products before 100% packaging doesn't equate scam, that's impatience. I didn't promise that products are ready for delivery that night, not even the following day. I said Thursday. I didnt ask him for money, I didn't send him my account number. I told him the moment he called to make enquiries about the product that the finished products are not ready yet, if he didn't believe my story he should have just moved on without asking for pictures, he just wanted something as evidence so he could label me a scammer, thereby blackmailing me in the process .

What I'm blaming you for is that impatience ( and naivety). What you consider as not scam can be considered as scam by someone else, even if they are wrong. The onus is on you ( as the person trying to do business) to remove such suspicion.

Point is, you should learn from this going forward. I'm trying not to side any of you guys here. Mr Ade has said he doesn't own the text. The only mistake I made here was I was too quick to send pictures when the products weren't 100% ready, should have waited till the following day when the products were ready before I sent the pics (which I promised him to do the following day but he insisted on seeing the SIZE). didnt know he had a hidden agenda.

Yes it truly could be anybody's hands, but that can't stop anyone from drawing suspicion from it. Just like you can draw suspicion from him using his supposed wife's phone and account. He can also say that's not supposed to be a big deal. See the different perspective?

The lesson here is not to do anything that would bring up suspicion. You admit that you were impatient in posting the empty bottles, and while I understand this can happen to anyone who wants to sell her goods, it still has brought suspicion whether you like it or not. Things only cleared up after you posted the complete product.

If the accused is a blackmailer/scammer, he would need something to hold unto, you gave him that "something".
