texazzpete:You are just trolling and and haven't answered my question. Don't be churlish |
What the heck is this tosh doing in the home page? It is doleful that NAIRALAND is now going dramatically from the sublime to the ludicrous! |
micheall36:I dont think so. By deductions the OP must be male. |
Gosh! I am yet to fathom why twenty-two grown-ups should be running about in the field chasing one bunkum-- football, and call it sports. The worst part of the whole shebang -- and the most infernal-- is people's obsession with this nonsense as they are held spellbound and glued to the TV watching it. They discuss it as though it were their private business or puts food on their tables. In fact some fight and even commit suicide just because of football. What for? I can't seem to decipher what bearing a practice such as watching football can have on my life. They play football, get paid undeservedly. OR do they deserve the undue pay they get? I'm not saying that they shouldn't be properly remunerated. But it's just that what they get is dogmatically excessive, especially amid people's abject and piteous existence. Worse still, they spend the money frivolously and injudiciously, especially on women. C. Ronaldo, I garnered, has twenty-eight girl friends, isn't it an insult on our moral sensibilities and psyche? In addition to the above, is the harm football has done to our vacuous and callow youths as it is unimaginably abysmal. These green beings can delightly reel of the names of these footballers, how much they are paid, how many goals they scored, including how many girl friends they have; whereas some can't name ten states in their country. So, what then is my business with football if directly or indirectly I can't gain anything from it -- financially or otherwise. Having said the above, I would love to be convinced beyond reasonable doubt that football can have any bearing on my life/personality. Thanks for your attentiveness! |
Some just see a topic and without having a glance of the previous responses and replies begin with their deluge of pontifications. Both relevant and irrelevant. Some are still asking about the OP's sex whereas it is pellucid that he is male. (because he inferred it). Having said the above, I want to tell the OP that in reality his case is neither piteous nor pathetic. There are countless number of women out there that are ready to marry you. Just communicate your seriousness and plans to settle down. In fact, without any flattery or being unctuous, YOU HAVE NO CASE, as you can easily settle down and raise healthy kids. So all you need do is put it in prayers and meticulously search for a mate that is not interested in your dough. I reiterate, there are many of them out there. The Lord will guide you. Good luck! |
@Sexkilz, Discomb, What? Had you accepted corrections, I would have discounted the gaffe in your grandiloquent sentence as an oversight. But since you have proved to be recalcitrant and unregenerate, I can't but indict you. You just misused/misapplied that word (discom, ), thus rendering your pontifications erroneous. Ask me how if you don't fathom. |
Okay@ Natasha, hope the admission stuff works out, |
The senate are nothing but visionles and rudderless. Balderdash. |
You will see a number of people you have never seen anywhere in your life. |
@Natasha, how are you and what's your score? |
I can't understand all these with these 'university abuse' students. 19 years? I thought the minimum age requirement for varsity admission was 16 years? |
Joshua is a prophet of doom. Has he ever prophesied and had it averted. When he prophesied about a plane crash then, he and his congregation prayed but the plane still crashed. He prophesied about Gani Fahewinmi's death; was it averted? And he never prophesies about good things. Balderdash! |
I wouldn't advise sending of your ward to boarding school at early stage. Even if he should go, let it be from say, SS1. At least at that staged he must have got strong background/training (including morals) from you. This will ensure that he doesn't get easily swayed or misled maybe by peer pressure while he is there. |
YOU obviously are saying the same thing with me. Or didn't you catch my drift. I didn't say that you can't use 'made' together with manifest. I was only trying to buttress the fact that putting 'made' in that context as asked by 'Contumely' is analogous to saying that 'the ability in disability seen in that man' was done by ANOTHER PERSON/THING. In other words, it wasn't appropriate in that situation/context. Or isn't there a difference in these sentences: ''The man was rich'' and ''The man was 'made' rich'' The former suggests that the man apparently became rich all by himself. While the latter infers that the man was made rich maybe by a benefactor. Okay? Check these ones also: ''The example was clear'' (in itself). The example was 'made' clear'' (made clear by another thing/person). And the sentences you cited in your examples bears witness to the foregone: All things that are reproved are made manifest (ie obvious) BY LIGHT. It wasn't manifest by itself but was made manifest --- by light. Let's take another: The way of life and death made manifest and set before us. It suggests that somebody/something made it obvious (manifest) and set it before us. Thank you. |
NIGERIA: celebrating a failed state

Contumely: Ola one:Yea. But in this context, as it has been used as an adjective here; I think the author was only trying to convey that that trait was obvious in Mr. Emeka. Because of that, putting 'made' there makes the trait (ability in disability) look like it was done by another person. In other words the fact that ability in disability was obvious and visible in the man looks like it was done by another person (if you put 'made' there). Just like saying that 'the girl was made happy' instead of 'the girl was happy. Conclusively, I think the 'made' there isn't relevant especially in this context. |
Ola one:Language and structure nowadays is erratic. Whichever way me I go use 'are' |
Ola one:'Is' also okay? No naw, Ola! You mean, solecisms that 'is'? No I don't think it's correct. Or is it also okay to say: One of the traders who sellS tomatoes, instead of who sell without (s)? |
Ola one:Whatchamallit? Eeh! Okay, Manner. Ola how u dey? |
Ola one:should be themselves |
Ola one:I will use ''they'' Ola one:''Are'' |
Ola one:I will use ''they'' |
You can now pay your acceptance fee. |
Who are those giving misleading info. Why don't you shut up if you don't know what to say. @PETER, it was explicitly stated that you can only get the forms at FIDELITY and INTERCONTINENTAL BANKS, anywhere in the country. After which you go to unnportal.com, submit your teller number and other details. http://m.unn.edu.ng/news/instructions-candidates-offered-provisional-admissions It will do you good if you join unnforum.com There you will see other folks and also gain insight. Good luck! |
@earnfast, I am interested, tell me. |
fame12k:When registering for what? If you mean DE, then it is the number you scrtatched in the card that normally starts with alphabets and ends with numbers. |
This should be on the home page. |
Yea, it is now in their website, also are the details for supplimentary. |
mcdokwe:Ha! MAC, but I thought the cards used for checking of results was not the same with the ones used for registrations? |
@MCDOKWE, welcome back and how was your holiday? |
UNN aspirants can now check their Admission Status through JAMB Click here: http://jamb.org.ng/postregistrationefacility/CheckAdmissionStatus.aspx?id=08 Cheers! |
fame12k:You are right. But there is tendency that the date 30th is what is actually meant as the discrepancy might just be an oversight. So I guess you should be cool and wait for clarifications. And mind you that the date should also be stated in your acknowledgement slip which you will print out after registrations. Good luck! |
