PoliticsRe: South Leaders Threaten to Boycott 2007 Polls by Seun(mod): 2:49pm On Dec 21, 2005
These people are not my leaders. As a yoruba youth, my decision to vote does not depend on what some corrupt "South Leaders" are threatening. Just because they are Yoruba and I am Yoruba doesn't mean they can make a decision for me on whether I want to vote or not.

Why can't these so-called leaders ask us what we want want before going out to make decisions for us? angry
WebmastersRe: Why Web Hosting Companies in Nigeria Should Reposition for 2006 by Seun(mod): 2:22pm On Dec 21, 2005
mohammed, can you give us one good reason why Nigerian websites should be hosted in Nigeria rather than in the US which is where the Internet originated, bandwidth is extremely cheap, electricity supply is constant and companies can afford to have redundant Internet links, power supply and servers?

RomanceRe: If Your Girlfriend Gets Pregnant Unexpectedly by Seun(mod): 1:02pm On Dec 20, 2005
It is not sensible for a man to claim to know more about the body of women than women themselves. Condoms can fail and pills too. Pregnancy is not easy and no woman would want to be pregnant if her child is not going to be catered for.

RomanceRe: Nigerian Raised at Home or Abroad: which would you prefer to marry? by Seun(mod): 12:40am On Dec 20, 2005
That's what I get for listening to "what people want". I'm going to remove that last option so we can start voting properly
RomanceRe: Nigerian Raised at Home or Abroad: which would you prefer to marry? by Seun(mod): 12:15am On Dec 20, 2005
That last option shouldn't have been added at all. Now everyone will claim it doesn't matter instead of choosing their BEST option. Too bad.

Fill the 5 litre gallon to the brim with water
Pour 3 litres of that into the 3 litre gallon (that is, pour it till it's full)
Empty the 3 litre gallon.
Pour the 2 litres from the 5 litre gallon into the 3 litre gallon
Fill the 5 litre gallon to the brim
Pour water from the 5 litre gallon into the 3 litre one holding 2 litres, till it's full (1 litre)
Congratulations, you now hav 4 litres in the 5 litre gallon!

PoliticsRe: Nigeria External Debt Forgiveness: Where Do We Go From Here? by Seun(mod): 11:16pm On Dec 19, 2005
It's too early to celebrate. The Finance Minister is having trouble comvincing our lawmakers to authorize the first $6.4 billion dollars of the debt as agreed in the debt reduction deal. Who knows if they'll keep frustrating her until the debt reduction deal is withdrawn?
BusinessRe: National ID Card to Become Credit Card? by Seun(mod): 11:13pm On Dec 19, 2005
The mandatory national ID Card cannot be a credit card because the Federal Government is not a bank. Any credit card provider that secures placement in the national ID card would have a natural monopoly in the credit card business and that would be unfair to other credit card providers.

Would petty traders be happy if the federal government started supplying mandatory pure water to every Nigerian? Would MTN and Vmobile be happy if people got a free Globacom sim card with their National ID cards, paid for by the registration fee? That is why this idea is so absurd!

FashionRe: What Do Men Think Of Women Who Wear Anklets and Waist Beads? by Seun(mod): 10:15pm On Dec 19, 2005
IAH: Really? Either you're lying or I'm not yet that good at interpreting girl-talk.

[s]Also, it appears from that picture that one can wear a waistband on top of one's shirt. Wait a minute, is that a shirt or a white girl's tummy?[/s]

What's the point of wearing a waistband if you're not going to be walking about with your shirt off? huh
FashionRe: What Do Men Think Of Women Who Wear Anklets and Waist Beads? by Seun(mod): 10:09pm On Dec 19, 2005
What IAH is trying to say is that she won't buy an anklet or waistband with her own money, so she wants one as a Christmas gift!

I guess if it matches and all that then it's good, though I'm not so crazy about it. Can a man wear a waistband too?

I'd love to help you manage and promote your project. Thanks to Nairaland, I consider myself as being in the media business and I think your project falls under media. We can create a great animated work and make money out of it. I can bring the perspective of someone who gets the job done without any corporate sponsorship.

CrimeRe: Housewife Wakes Up With Nail in Head <caution> by Seun(mod): 9:18pm On Dec 19, 2005
Doctors know what they use. It appears that she has been psychologically affected by the nail due to the region of impact. What a pity. However, the idea of arresting some woman in the house without evidence, with the investigators considering the possibility that "juju" was used on her. What is that huh
RomanceRe: She is 30, I'm 28, she want to dump me by Seun(mod): 9:15pm On Dec 19, 2005
For a 30 year old woman to want to break up a relationship with a 28 year old man who has not wronged her, then it's either:
1) She has found someone else to cling to, or
2) She thinks you won't marry her and wants to quickly become available to other men.
FashionRe: What Do Men Think Of Women Who Wear Anklets and Waist Beads? by Seun(mod): 9:09pm On Dec 19, 2005
Anything looks fine on a lady if the lady is 'yours'. Anklets can be lovely, but I don't understand what waistbands are for. If you're wearing waistbands, will you have to wear a transparent blouse or skirt so people can see the beads on your waist? huh

Can you post some pictures to demonstrate what these anklets and waistbands look like?
EducationRe: 30 Years Old and Still Seeking University Admission by Seun(mod): 9:04pm On Dec 19, 2005
Ideas:
- Follow rilla's suggestion and take a part-time degree.
- Entrepreneurship, the route I have chosen, can make you a rich man after some years of struggle. Plus: if you're rich and independent, apparently smart and you speak good English, wife materials won't really care that you don't have a degree. This route is only recommended for desperate and hardworking people.

Life is to short for you to be pretending that your destiny is tied to a degree from just any University. What do you really love to do? Tell us and we'll have more ideas to share with you. There are so many opportunities yet to be tapped in this country of ours as long as everything remains peaceful.

FoodRe: Do You Eat Your Meat Before, During, or After a Meal? by Seun(mod): 8:51pm On Dec 19, 2005

RomanceRe: How Do You Know When a Boy Likes a Girl? by Seun(mod): 8:42pm On Dec 19, 2005

RomanceRe: Inferiority Complex in Dating and Relationships by Seun(mod): 8:40pm On Dec 19, 2005
I really can't understand the ;more knowledgable' part at all, if u believe that you're knowledgeable to an extent, are u willing to marry someone u can't gain anything from?
Intellectual stimulation is good, but if the woman is always trying to demonstrate that she knows better than me, then I think we will have a problem. If you are about the same, then it's good. Something irrational inside me tells me that when a woman is so smart to the extent of being much smarter than me, she will use it to try to beat me down and manipulate me and make me feel stupid instead of using it constructively.

(Well in my life, I have been thoroughly outclassed [outsmarted] in a quarrel by two just women. One of them is gay, and both of them are Yoruba, and I will never forget them. Maybe that is why I have these ideas that are not progressive at all; perhaps other Nigerian men are not like that, but I doubt it cheesy)
