It would have been better to use our energy to talk about what we like. It is always best to look at things from the positive angle! |

Lauryn, your idea is a good one. I thought I dropped a comment that this is not necessarily something for the government to do. This is something that the private sector can begin to do. For example, you could sponsor a bright student and have him work for you for a few years after graduation and do his internship at your place, too. |
Nice stats. About President Obasanjo's rule: - The coup that brought him into power the first time was not his doing. - He willingly left the seat of power after a short time. - His last 8 years have been by the people's choice. |
Please turn 18 as quickly as posible so that action can begin! |
casper, he gave a shout-out to me too. Am I a woman? No, I am not! Raymond, welcome to Nairaland! Wishing you many more years of enjoyment of the friendly Nigerians on this forum! |
Don't feel pressured to marry him because as females, the society makes us feel like our biological clock is running out at a certain age.Look: - Most men are willing to marry women who are younger than them. - Most men are wiling to marry women who are the same age, or older (but cuter) and respectful. - Most women are only willing to date men who are older and more mature. So if you're a lady, then your biological clock is running out pretty fast. And whose fault is that? It is your fault, because you are unwilling to marry men who are younger than you. By the time you are 30, all the good men who are older than you will be married. At this point, you will either stop dating or start going out with married men or old-for-nothing bachelors. Younger men will be available, but you will be unwilling to go out with them. This is what we mean when we say a woman's biological clock has run out. Such a woman is on her way to becoming what we call an old maid. ![]() Ok, now that this is out of the way, let's go back to the topic. Advice our soon-to-be-engaged lady. |
Since such a thing hasn't happened to you before, I don't see how you would need the answer! |
Once again, welcome to Nairaland |
It is easier to teach English to a wife material than to turn a good English speaking lady into a wife material. However, if your love for her depends on her grasp of the English language, it will lead to a lifetime of quarrels. Because you will be correcting her all the time, and after a while she'll just snap, shoot your head off (with her mouth), and run off with your gardener! It is not wise to marry someone if you can't accept her just the way she is, without any improvements whatsoever. |
Happy birthday! ![]() |
What about Graphcard - www.graphcard.com ? Any experiences with it? |
I am tired of these comparison threads. If you want to promote Tnaija promote her and leave Genevieve out of it ![]() |
Were is Jeta Amata in the above pictures? |
Precise, proud, and polite. Don't alienate foreigners just because they are confused about Africa. They can all be assets in the future. |
I don't think it will work that easily. Spend time learning more about each other. Are you truly ready to settle down with one man for life? |
But again, why is the man going around looking for girls to date in the first place. It's quite obvious: the men are looking for fresher, younger bodies to have sex with. For many men, what they get from women is the ultimate pleasure they have in their lives. Majority [of girls] are interested in the financial benefits derivable. The men are aware of this, but for some reason they feel that the sex and the additional respect they get is worth what they pay for it! These "home-breakers" are basically sophisticated prostitutes. ![]() |

Vinna from Lagos, you're welcome to Nairaland! So, tell us, are you single? How old are you? How did you discover this lovely site? |
If Access Bank is indeed dismissing able employees, then they will be picked up by other banks. Those that can't find employment will use their contacts at the bank to get loans to start their own businesses. Others will pool their compensation packages together to start new businesses to compete with Access bank. If Access bank is making a mistake, they will be punished by the market. So the Government is not supposed to do anything. Let the market decide. Whatever you do to force the private sector to employ certain people will only make it more difficult for others to get jobs. Government is not Father Christmas! |
chocolatte, thanks for sharing your story. It's enlightening. |
I've had some interesting dreams and I wonder if you'd like to help me interprete them. If you've also had some interesting and possibly recurring dreams, I'd like you to share them here - so the rest of us can try to figure out the meaning of each dream. This is for fun! I have had several dreams along the lines of running away from something (lion, snake, etc) in the middle of a screaming crowd or small group of people also trying to escape. In the dreams I run, jump, dodge, elbow people away, and so on non-stop for hours, then I wake up something really terrible is just about to happen in the dream. For example, I may wake up when I'm about to fall down a cliff or get caught by the assailant. I also have this recurring dream of going back to secondary school to study among young boys and girls who are much younger than my junior ones and being unable to pay attention on class and study. In such dreams, I tend to 'fail' the exams and then the teachers will be asking, "Seun, you're supposed to be brilliant. What has happened to you? What's wrong?" I had a dream recently in which I was in a group of Igbos and Yorubas in a farmland dispute. They were moving from place to place arguing over landmarks and ownerships of various plots of land (e.g. "my grandfather planted this tree so this section of the land belongs to us!" . Eventually, they came to an agreement on where to divide the land. Majority of the men (28) were saying, "yes, this is where we should divide the land" and two were still complaining (which is natural). Then a bunch of children came out from a mosque and started chanting. Westarted telling them, "don't worry, we have reached an agreement! Then another man came out of the mosque with a cutlass, and without saying a word walked up to a man in our group. Without saying a word, he raised his cutlass and amputated the man's hand. I woke up from the dream as the rest of us started running away from the man with the cutlass. Are these dreams meaningful? Can you interprete them? What about your own dreams? |
Several Nigerians all over the country became proud Apple Ipod Mini owners in the Coca-Cola 'Road to Refreshment' Promo, which ended on the 30th of November. Congratulations to them! |
I don't really get the joke. Please explain it! |
I don't know why you prefer to take advice from people who are not older than the boy in question. Well, it's your call. |
