Thanks for participating in this topic. We have examined a very wide range of ideas and opinions here, and I want to suggest the creation of new threads titled, "How to Ask a Man Out - For Women" or "How to Ask a Boy Out - For Girls"

I think we care more about 'understanding' and 'respect' than 'romance'.
RomanceRe: Ugly Intelligent Girl or Beautiful Dull Girl? by Seun(mod): 11:35pm On Nov 30, 2005
Even if a girl is too 'ugly' to find the man of her dreams, she might not be too ugly to change the world like, say Mother Theresa.

PoliticsMilitary Weapons as Raw Materials for Blacksmiths in Sierra Leone by Seun(mod): 10:26pm On Nov 30, 2005
https://www.nairaland.com/img/Pg3_Tank.gif
According to the Good Gifts Catalogue (a website where you can buy various gifts for poor people in developing nations):
"Peace is paying dividends in Sierra Leone. The same civil war that depleted the country of tools and work is now providing ample raw material for recovery: weapons. Enterprising blacksmiths and metal workers convert them into farm implements so that a Kalashnikov becomes hoes and axe heads and a rocket launcher transforms into pickaxes, sickles and even school bells.

"The indisputable heavyweight champ is a tank (or a heavy duty 16 wheeler) that can provide a year's work for 5 blacksmiths, turning it into 3,000 items vital to equip a farming village of 100 families. Jobs, tools, agriculture. It isn't everyday that what you long for comes true."

Currently, using a credit card, you can buy 4 kinds of used military weapons for blacksmiths in Sierra-Leone:
- A Kalashnikov (AK-47 Machine Gun) for £25.00.
- A Rocket launcher for £55.00
- A Small Armoured Vehicle for £250.00
- An Armored Tank for £1,000

So who is planning to buy a military weapon for Blacksmiths in Seirra-leone who are trying to rebuild their lives after the costly civil war?
FamilyRe: My Cousin's Story About Her Pregnancy by Seun(mod): 8:26pm On Nov 30, 2005
I'm touched by your story, chocolatte. If such a thing happens to your child or another young person in your family, I want to believe that you would be more supportive than your family was to you. Big ups to you.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Create-CV.com: Create Your CV Online by Seun(mod): 6:33pm On Nov 30, 2005
You should make it entirely free for job seekers. Currently, they have to pay 2000 naira and that it not really fair because it doesn't guarantee them a job. And since it doesn't guarantee them a job, I'm that they'll prefer to create their CVs using Microsoft Word to save money and have more control over their work.

Besides, having to pay 2000 naira to a bank account without any possibility of getting a refund is not very convenient or safe. Especially when they have no prior business relationship with you and they don't know who you are or where you are!

PoliticsRe: "Mobitel Boss "Accidental Fell Off" From Window" - Police IG by Seun(mod): 12:40am On Nov 30, 2005
I think what happened is that one of the police officers accompanying the receiver-manager shot him by mistake they are all now trying to cover up their mistakes. I don't think they matched into that company premises with the intention of killing the CEO, but this their cover-up will only lead to very harsh penalties when they are finally convicted. It's tragic.

Yes, your posts were off-topic. Currently, we are facing a moderator crisis that doesn't enable us to remove all posts that break the rules, so those whose posts are removed tend to feel that they are being targetted. Which is not true!
RomanceRe: Dating your Sister or Brother's Ex by Seun(mod): 8:58pm On Nov 29, 2005
I agree with smartsoft. When you break up with someone, it's none of your business who decides to pick her up from where you dumped her and start dating her. If you don't want your brother to date your girlfriend, don't break up with her. Simple!
