If your parents are very strict/wicked/distant then you'll prefer boarding school because at least you'll have friends. |
Right now, we need people for our conflict resolution team. Greatpeter seems to be away, so we'll have to replace him. I think we need 3-5 people to help Vexxy with the peacemaking responsibilities she accepted. |
If you don't know the specific exact name and features of the device you are dealing with, how can you code for it? |

ABUJA (Reuters) - Disguised as a woman, smuggled across borders by train, plane and speedboat -- the flight of a Nigerian state governor charged with money-laundering in Britain is fast becoming the stuff of legend in his home country. Diepreye Alamieyeseigha earned the title of "Master of Deception" in Tuesday's This Day newspaper, which published a digital photo-montage of him in a red dress, sparkling necklace, red woman's head-dress and lipstick. Cross-dressing governor's escape fascinates Nigeria The ThisdayOnline Montage (not real) Corresponding Article: http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=33889 |
I don't think the London police will intentionally want to disgrace themselves by letting him go. The peoplle who paid 1.5 million pounds to secure his bail and guarantee that he'll show up on Friday, are the ones to suffer for this. ![]() |
Hello Tolulope, Welcome to our 'small' but active forum. And I want to say "thank you" to goodguy for inviting you. Seun. |
abacus, thanks for providing that information. |
One interesting angle to this issue is that our Attorney General travelled to the UK to testify that if they grant him bail he is likely to look for a way to escape. And this is exactly what he has done! |
Without knowing the exact name of the system you have in mind, we cannot verify whether or not our suggested solutions will work on it. Can you give us a link to the manufacturer's website? You are not paying us to help you, so the lest you can do is give us all the information we need to be able to help you. I will show no further interest in this thread if you do not provide this information; I am sure that others wil be able to help you! |
NITELNET, the Internet arm of the National Carrier has concluded plans to launch its wholesale internet service next week. Nitelnet wholesale internet service would sell bandwidth on wholesale basis to Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Private Telecom Operators (PTOs) and Application Service providers at discounted rates designed for volume customers. http://www.vanguardngr.com/articles/2002/features/technology/tec512042005.html (April 13, 2005) The Nigerian Telecommunications Limited (NITEL) on 28 April in Lagos launched its Wholesale Internet Services (WIS). WIS is a set of Internet connectivity services that will enable Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Application Service Providers (ASPs) and Carriers with an Internet Protocol (IP) carriage capacity throughout Nigeria to provide IP-based services. The standard delivery point of the services is at NITEL’s IP Gateways in Lagos and Abuja. Both Gateways are connected to the SAT-3 IP connection to the World Wide Internet. http://www.nigeriafirst.org/article_3910.shtml (April 29, 2005) |
[s]The official name of the service is 'IP Wholesale' and you can read about it on Thisday Online: "The IP Wholesale service provides bandwidth to the worldwide internet using the NITEL IP Gateway in Lagos. The Gateway is connected via the SAT-3 cable to the worldwide internet and will provide access to a broad range of clientele who are increasingly deploying as the platform for their businesses in the networked global information economy." http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=15076 (login with username nairaland, password nairaland)[/s] |
I'm going straight for the pictures! |
If I didn't think he was wonderful, I will not have conducted the interview. |
I'll use it to rent my own flat and install adequate security to continue running my online business. I'll use some of it to open an account and go into the website hosting business. |
Doesn't this device have a name? ![]() Anyway, since your application is a client-server system, what you need on your micro-controller system is a web browser. If the system supports Linux, then you can set up a minimal Linux configuration with X-windows and Mozilla Firefox or another lightweight Linux browser. But you will need to connect each e-voting client to a standard server than runes Apache, PHP and MySQL. |
Jacqie: I hope he is back to resign?Resign? Apparently, you don't understand Nigerian politicians. The man is here to secure his position as Governor of Bayelsa State! Here is what we know about his escape: His travel documents were seized, and he was granted bail under the condition that he must not leave London. The case was adjourned till Friday, but he dressed up as a woman (aparently with false documents) and arrived in Nigeria this morning to a thunderous welcome by hundreds of supporters. So he did not swim to Nigeria! (I am beginning to see the humor in this case ) |
Too bad. And I was thinking of opening a smal account with them. |
dbanj is understand upset about the post that said he "wowoo with confidence". An apology is required. |
On AIT I saw a footage of the grand welcome he recieved from his supporters. I saw many young men, young women, older women and older men in the crowd. Such a shameful display! It's obvious that the problem of Nigeria is not the leaders alone. Obviously, these people who are welcoming Governor Alamieyisiegha without asking questions about the money found on him would do the same if they were in his position. Shame on Nigeria - thieving leaders, thieving followers, thieving children, thieving adults. It seems that everybody is corrupt and democracy alone cannot solve corruption because it is normal for corrupt people to vote in corrput leaders. Shame on the [supporters], the man is stealing from them and they are hailing him! |
"The governor of an oil-rich Nigerian state has fled the UK, where he was charged with laundering £1.8m ($3.2m) found in cash and bank accounts." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/4456300.stm |

Nigerian parents can be very petty, so if your boyfriend is worth the effort then follow WesleyanA's advice. When you are around them, do what you can to impress them and when you are away, be yourself. Better safe than sorry. |
alheri: WOW, am glad he's back in Nigeria. How did he do it? I hope they wont try to sanction Nigeria because of that. Ive always like that GovSo now that he's back, his money laundering activities have become a non-issue? |
https://www.nairaland.com/img/sirleaf.jpg Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf (born October 29, 1938) is the President-elect of Liberia following the 2005 election. Barring any exigencies, she will become the first elected female president of an African country. Educated at Harvard, Johnson-Sirleaf became involved in government when she became Finance Minister in President William Tolbert's administration in 1970. While running for Senate in 1985, she spoke out against the military regime, and was sentenced to ten years in prison. Released after a short period, she left in exile and returned in 1997 in the capacity of an economist, working for the World Bank, and Citibank in Africa. Initially supporting Charles Taylor's rebellion against General Samuel Doe, she later went on to oppose him, and ran against him in the 1997 presidential elections. She managed only 10% of the votes, as opposed to Taylor's 75%. Taylor charged her with treason. She campaigned for the removal of President Taylor from office, playing an active and supportive role in the transitional government, as the country prepared itself for the 2005 elections. With Taylor's departure, she returned to take over the leadership of the Unity Party. In the first round of 2005 voting, she came second with 175,520 votes, putting her through to the runoff vote on November 8 against former footballer George Weah. On November 11th, the National Electoral Commission of Liberia declared Johnson-Sirleaf to be President-elect of Liberia, while her opponent, George Weah, refused to concede and filed a writ of prohibition with the Liberian Supreme Court to halt the ballot counting. Hello Brittney, I am also a supporter of home schooling. Welcome to Nairaland; I'm sure you're going to enjoy the ride ![]() Seun. |
Queen2, where did you get these interesting (but deformed) pictures? |
This Christmas Party is probably not going to happen. I hereby apologize in advance! |
Apparently, I am the only honest Nigerian who cares about doing something to improve the Nation's image. I would have been better off not reading what all of you had to say on this thread. Shame on you, Nigeria! ![]() |
First of all, it's not a big deal that the bible didn't get bunt. Many bible have hard covers unlike most books which do not. In addition, the bible may have been placed in a different part of the house than other books. However, I am sure that you are exaggerating in this case. I am sure that there were other things which didn't get burnt like metals, ceramic cups, etc. Did you see the burnt house with your own eyes, or is it just another story? |
I have decided to learn C, C++And while you're at it, why don't you learn assembly language too? ![]() And by the way, the person that said Java is 20 times slower than C++ was lying. Java is as fast as C++ or 50% of the speed depending on what you're doing with it. |
