So much for the unity of the Igbo peoples and the dream for a "United Biafra" |

Let's create a french thread, then. ![]() |
Good point. Still, I have no interest in dying for anybody. Sorry! |
I second that. The most important thing is for everyone to know that they will face the music if they embezzle funds. |
I also have interest in agriculture. It is important that we should be able to grow our own food and source agricultural raw materials for our industries locally. Nigeria is oil and gas rich and if we can add agriculture and other sectors to it and maintain peace and stability (with some patience) the sky will be our limit. |
If you are young and still studying them please don't take your 'relationship' too seriously because it's not meant to last. You should socialize with many different types of people so you can learn the type of person that fits you best. Once you know your type of person and you are working and ready to settle down, they you can start commiting yourself to long-term relationships that'll end in marriage. |
No, that is a wrong response. Since you're in the UK, you should go to the Police. Even in Nigeria, you can go to the police for a serious case of beating. Two wrongs do not make a right. You need to understand that you cannot beat these violent men at their game. If you hire a gang of rogues to beat him up, he will hire his own friends to beat you up in retaliation, and you will suffer more in the end. If you want to see the effect of fighting violence with violence, go to the Middle East. Women should learn to think with their minds and not with their emotions when dealing with men. |
Governor Mu'azu pays salaries to medical students so the state will have more doctors! To find out more about this and other facts about Governor Mu'azu, read this: http://www.independentng.com/backpage/thurnov240501.htm |
Owo, what are you talking about? You have no point! Anyway, what the government has done for the security of Niger Delta can be referred to as outsourcing and I support it 100%. Other smaller countries in Africa enjoy the use of our military forces from time to time, so why can't we ask a bigger country to support our own country's where it is needed? |
Pastor Bimbo Odukoya is rumored to be one of the victims of the Sosoliso plane crash (she was on the plane ...) Note: the main thread for the plane crash is "Many Die in Sosoliso Plane Crash |
What is an Obong and what is Eze Ndigbo? |
Well, the questions should be directed to the authors of that article. How can we go on and on about a 'plot' when we cannot answer these fundamental qustions about the nature of the plot? |
We want to know if the questions have already been presented to Baba, and where you got them from before posting on this forum. For example, was it a Nigerian newspaper website? Or are you a journalist who was at the press conference? |
I agree with you, pendelite. I think our privatization is being done in such a way as to favor some groups of people who are closer to the Government over the rest of us who are not. This Transnational Corporation appears to be one means towards that end. They want Transcorp to become Nigeria's Haliburton - the company that gets all the government contracts in the name of privatization. But you see, the only thing worse than a public monopoly like NITEL is a private monopoly. I mean, if we look at the way MTN has behaved in the past before the arrival of solid competition, you will agree with me that in the absence of competition private companies can be even more exploitative than government parastatals. I don't like how the president is using his office to favor certain private interests above others, and how the Chairman of Transcorp is the DG of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. |
Some people believe that real hard work is when you are doing some sort of physical labour such as working on a farm. To those people, those of us that prefer office work are 'lazy'. Personally, I do not believe that agriculture can contribute as much foreign exchange as oil for the near future, but if we can achieve self-sufficiency in food production and also provide agricultural raw materials for starch-production plants, bakeries, cosmetics manufacturers and so on, I think that will be good enough. |
Well, from what I've gathered, most girls are like Theresa. After much posing they eventually give in! |
I might have been too aggressive on my previous posts on this thread. Sorry michelin89, it happens. |
"Loving You" by Minnie Riperton "... everything I do is out of loving you. Lalalalala, lalalalala, lalalalala lala lalala ..." "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera "I am beautiful, no matter what they say, 'cause words can't bring me down" |
Helo mimmy1, Welcome to Nairaland! Seun |
They may sound cool, but I don't agree with most of the points. Many of them would still seem to be true if you swap the words 'guy' and 'girl'. |
Oya, Nairalanders, don't you dream at all? What is wrong with this topic? |
In the same (deceptive) mood, I'll ask you this: where did I say that you "promote" violence against women? All I said is that you are encouraging him in that regard. Such behaviour needs to be condemned in the strongest possible way. If you give him the slightest excuse to do it, he will do it. That is how we men behave. If you give excuses for a man's unacceptable behaviour, he wil go ahead and do it. Any excuse you give for his behaviour will encourage him to do it next time. If you ask, "why did you do it" he will respond "even on Nairaland, a girl said that when you are angry you can't control yourself and you just have to beat the person to hurt that person". But what I am saying is that even when you are angry violence is not acceptable. As I said, I get angry a lot and I do not hit people and I am not an exception to the rule. Lots of guys have disagreements and they do not settle it with their fists. I will say it again. If you put your head on the floor, men will step on it without remorse. If you give excuses, they will be exploited. I don't think there's anything I can say that will be too harsh for someone who is willing to settle disagreements with his fists in the 21st century. |
BTW For Buyers Web design is something that can be very expensive or very cheap depending on how much knowledge you yourself have. Those who are going to take your mere idea/name/business and turn it into a website will definitely charge more. Those who are just doing predefined tasks for you might accept an hourly rate depending on where they live. Try freelancers on sites like www.rentacoder.com or www.scriptlance.com |
According to the articles linked from this thread, Africa has for only 4% of the world's Air Traffic, yet 25% of those crashes are in Africa. This means that a plane in Africa is more than 6 times more likely to crash. Would you attribute that to lack of prayer - meaning African countries are prayerless? No, I think it's more reasonable to conclude that the poor state of maintenance of airport facilities and a planes are strogn contributary factors in these crashes. So if the standard of airports and planes in Africa are raised to the level of the rest of the world, the number of people dying in air crashes should be reduced six times. Isn't that worth the effort? |
Welcome to Nairaland, Otemu my brother! |
[Moved to Joke, etc] |
They do it because women are gluttons for punishment. They forgive it too easily unlike the way they are harsh about other vices. |
She should try to choose hairstyles that partly cover her forehead, like the one in the first picture which is so cute. In the other pictures, the forehead is just to noticeable. If she is well advised, she will choose the hairstyle that complements her and makes her forehead and asset. Please! |
On behalf of everybody - you're welcome! ![]() |
