Foreign AffairsRe: Biden Says Palin Family Is Off Limits To Critics by Seun(mod): 4:39pm On Sep 05, 2008
The real question is why do they feel so threatened by Sarah Palin?
to warrant these kinds of ferocious and venomous attacks?
They (we?) are afraid women will want to vote for Sarah just because she's a woman.
HealthRe: Nigerians And Dirty Habits: Can We Ever Change? by Seun(mod): 3:49pm On Sep 05, 2008
I totally disagree with Seuns comment. Floods have nothing to do with people throwing trash out of their cars
That is precisely my point.  Did you read the first post?  Anyway, she has clarified it. It's all good. cool
RomanceRe: Confused by Seun(mod): 3:18pm On Sep 05, 2008
You said your girlfriend is lazy. In what respect? You mean during sex?

Anyway, if you don't like her, you should terminate the relationship.
HealthRe: Nigerians And Dirty Habits: Can We Ever Change? by Seun(mod): 1:38pm On Sep 05, 2008
First of all, the whole of Nigeria is not as dirty as you describe.  Just some parts of Lagos, and Aba.

People throwing things out of their vehicles: yes, that's bad, but it's not the reason we have floods in Lagos.  We have floods in Lagos because it rains a lot.  That's all there is to it.  The gutters are not clogged because people throw waste in their gutters; the gutters are clogged because there's no place for the water to flow into.  Much of Lagos is around sea level and the gutters don't reach everywhere.  Many roads don't have gutters at all.

Question: Why don't Nigerians always use waste bins.  Answer: which waste bins?

Why do Nigerians often pee in the bushes instead of peeing in toilets?  Answer: which toilets?  When was the last time you saw a public toilet in Oshodi or by the side of any road in Lagos?  What do you do when you have to pee and there's no toilet close by?   Question: Where do white people pee when they are camping?  Answer: In the bushes, just like Lagosians.  If you have a problem with that, go and construct public toilets in Oshodi.

Nigerians and their habit of complaining instead of taking concrete steps: can we ever change? wink

Art, Graphics & VideoRe: Professional Video Editing by Seun(mod): 10:18am On Sep 05, 2008
Just wondering if anyone is in the field of Professional Video editing and the challenges they face.
I'm not in the field per se. I am more or less a student filmmaker, rather than an editor, but I know some things.

The current state of editing in Nollywood has been criticize over the years for lack of professionialism in delivery the video contents.
Nigerian editors are perfectly competent. Nollywood movies are bloated for commercial reasons, not technical ones.

Also, anyone know of Naija animators, is there a current prospect for animation now, any animated movies yet in the country?
A couple of animators are springing up here and there, but thanks to NEPA animated movies are relatively expensive.

Anyone heard about digital juice yet? Let us know what you have to say about this.
Nope. What's digital juice? Tell us everything about digital juice, it sounds very juicy!

From what I've heard, the only people that edit with Avid are those who grew up on it: the UI is strange.

Actually, it goes for as low as 85k. what's the catch with that laptop? it's cheap, but what are the limitations. I use the 510 and it works nicely except that I can't play hollywood DVDs on it. it's too slow. Hope the 530 is different?

EducationRe: Corruption In Our Higher Institutions by Seun(mod): 6:13pm On Sep 04, 2008
My younger one applied for an admission into the University of Abuja to study English Language and he scored 122 in the last UNIABUJA post UME, their cut-off mark for Faculty of Art is 120 but he was told to pay N70, 000(for runs) before he could be admitted, we were even told that some students/parents pay much more than that, is this fair?
Of course it's not fair. The question is, "what do you plan to do about it?" Probably nothing, right?

Christianity EtcRe: What Did Pastors See In Pretty Women? by Seun(mod): 4:54pm On Sep 03, 2008
What do men see in beautiful women? Beauty, of course. These pastors are men, aren't they?

A more interesting question is, "what do beautiful women see in pastors?" Money and fame.
