The good ones are not easily repelled, my sister. A man that treats his wife as property is a bad man.

There's no greater good in the book of Job.
His innocent children who were killed did not come back to life.

Ask a parent who has lost a child:
having a new child does not wipe away your loss and grief!
Otherwise, parents who have lost children will have no reason to grieve.
Do you understand?

TV/MoviesWhat Percentage Of Nigerian Movies Are Profitable? by Seun(mod): 4:16pm On Feb 10, 2008
How many Nigerian movies actually make money for their investors, really?

Out of every hundred movies, how many of them actually sell enough copies to break even?
How many of them are sold to marketers at a price that covers the cost of making the movie?

(2: what percentage of them are very, very successful cash cows like Osoufia in London?)

PS: If you're just guessing, let us know. If you have actual experience, please share with us!

I mean, is it right to give a man 20 years to life because he slept with his wife by force? shocked
I think 2-3 years in jail with extensive counseling is ok for any rape case. If there is additional violence involved, you can add another 4-5 years for "battery". If he holds her hostage for an extended period, add another 5-7 years for kidnapping.

The critical issue is not the severity of the punishment but the likelihood of conviction. Nobody wants to spend 6 months in prison, not to talk of 2-3 years. Most women would not testify against their husbands if the punishment is deemed too severe. Afterall, they were lovers. But if the punishment is appropriate to the crime, then they might.

Having said that, I don't see how forcing your wife to have sex with you could be seen as less evil than doing the same to your neighbour or sister or girlfriend, provided you understand that the wife is not your property. Is your wife not a woman, too? Why should a man rape his wife when he won't rape other women? Are other women more deserving of respect than his beloved wife? Is she a slave, animal or piece of property?

If you divorce him the first time he tries it, it will be the last time. Women are just too passive;
don't you know that if you let him rape you he's also going to rape your daughters when they mature?

she definitely can't force her daughter to believe in God, but maybe she should carry her along to church anyway. Teen pregnancy is a very real possibility here.
Buhahaha. Atheist kids don't get pregnant that easily. They use contraceptives.
It's the church kids who get knocked up because they can't be seen buying contraceptives.

Forget all that mumbo jumbo about praying together and celebrate her for who she is,
otherwise you will spend your last days on earth miserable and alone. it's a guarantee.

Don't just tolerate her beliefs. It's not enough. You must appreciate her as she is.
Don't allow your primitive religious beliefs to tear apart your family. Tolerance is just step 1.

She doesn't like arguments, so she should be with a guy who doesn't like arguments. In other words, the two of you are not compatible. Personally, I think the problem is that you two don't have much in common, so the only thing that could spice up your relationship is a fight. What a pathetic 'relationship'.

TV/MoviesRe: A Director Stole My Movie Script by Seun(mod): 3:52pm On Feb 06, 2008
I would not advice you to bother yourself with this "director". First of all, making a movie is not a piece
of cake. If he cannot afford to pay you for the script, which is the most important component, how will
he get actors? Will he steal Genevieve Nnaji or Omotola Jolade? How will be get costumes and props,
locations and equipment to shoot the movie? How will he edit it and market the movie?

As a screenwriter, you should have a couple of scripts you use as writing samples. These scripts are
not to be sold; they are meant to be shown to directors to prove to them that you are a good writer.

Your objective should be to get a director to hire you to write a script based on the director's own ideas,
after you have impressed her with your writing ability. If you work like this, your story cannot be stolen.

Assuming the script is good, what you need to do is take the script and show it to as many directors as
possible so it can be established in their minds that the script was written by you. If the script is that
good, they will probably not buy it but will call you the next time they want to make movies.

Why won't they buy it? It's an ego thing, mostly. Directors prefer to work with their own ideas or their own
stories. The stress of movie making is such that you don't want to go through it unless you are working on
your own idea. Trust me, I know. but they will be happy to hire you to write scripts for them.

So forget about whether your scripts are stolen or not stolen. Treat them as writing samples and get them in
the hands of every serious producer or director. Give them your phone number; let them know you are available
to write stories for them at short notice. Let them know that you are affordable and dependable. Cheers!
(So far, I have bought three short scripts, but they were all written on my behalf, based on my own ideas.) wink
EducationRe: ASUU To Strike Again? by Seun(mod): 10:54am On Feb 06, 2008
Private secondary schools used to be expensive, but now you have many cheap ones as well as expensive ones. In the same way, private universities don't have to be so expensive. Private schools are only expensive because demand exceeds supply

If the industry is fully liberalized, we will have expensive ones for the rich, affordable ones for the common man. In addition, there will be scholarships for the brilliant and student loans for promising JAMBites.

Even if private schools are expensive, by the time there are enough private schools for those who can afford them, there will be much more space in public schools for those who can't afford private schools. It's a win-win-win-win strategy i.e. common sense.

SportsRe: Berti Vogts Has Been Sacked By NFA by Seun(mod): 12:10pm On Feb 05, 2008
Nigeria Football Association (NFA) board was expected last night to have sacked Berti Vogts as the Super Eagles Chief Coach by the board of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA).

Also on the line to be sacked is Vogts’ assistant, Austin Eguavoen. The decision to sack the technical crew four months to the start of the 2010 Wolrd Cup qualifiers was taken by the board at a meeting that took place at the Alisa Hotel , Accra .

Vogts was fired as result of the poor performance of the Eagles at the on going Nations Cup.

The Eagles rated the top team in Africa barely struggled to reach the quarter finals of the Nations Cup. But they exited the tournament on Sunday after their dismal 2-1 loss to Ghana in the quarter final.

It is understood that NFA caved in to pressure from the Nigerian national assembly to sack Vogts for non performance.

I think it's a shame that the national assembly has time to deliberate on football - a sport among many.
