Some people believe that film is the only right medium for movies, and everything else is superior. Others believe that even HDV is a waste of time and you should just use a good DV camera, because it will eventually end up on a DVD at best, or a VCD, which is a quarter of the resolution of DV. That you should focus on story and direction. I think I fall into this category because a recent project of mine fell apart when the producer insisted that I should pay to rent a HDV camera (and deck) instead of using my 3CCD DV cam & accessories. But the majority seem to prefer HDV, though they don't take full advantage of it. Which camp are you in? |

Is there anyone else who has stumbled upon this "Quiz Line" programme on NTA? They have this attractive presenter who keeps asking you to call their line number 35855 to win 5,000 naira or more. But the line doesn't work, and as such they hardly receive any calls. I pity them because they must be wasting millions getting a slot on NTA and nobody is able to respond because their phone line doesn't work. I've tried it on Glo, Celtel and Multilinks. The only network I've not tried is MTN. Somebody help them; they are wasting money! |

Do you make a movie to entertain people, to say something to society, or both? Hollywood movies seem to be all about entertainment, but in my experience it's beginning to seem as if the process of coming up with a movie script is so thankless and painful that one may as well write the script for one's personal enjoyment and hope that others will equally enjoy the story. It's unlike other businesses in which you can just ask your customers what they want. People are vague and unhelpful when it comes to movies. How does one balance these two priorities when choosing a concept for one's movie? |

Feminism is about gender equality. Femininity is the way women behave in the absence of gender equality. So you can't eat your cake and have it. If you want to enjoy the privileges of being a woman, then you have to be willing to be treated the way a woman is normally treated. Either way is fine; we can't all live the same way. Grrr. Feminists should marry modern men, and feminine women should marry "real African men". Problem solved. |

Single core pentium Ms are too expensive for people on a budget, and almost impossible to use for someone who has gotten used to dual core.Look for the HP 530 laptop. The better model comes with a solid Pentium M processor. |
