If the CBN was concerned about notes being clean, the new notes would have been polymer notes.
TV/MoviesRe: Ken Saro Wiwa Film To Be Shot Soon by Seun(mod): 11:29am On Feb 18, 2008
I think it's very clever of you to base your movie on the life of a well-known political icon.
Another very effective strategy to set one's film apart is to adapt a popular novel. Good luck!
TV/MoviesRe: Film Versus HDV Versus DV For Nollywood Movies? by Seun(mod): 8:56pm On Feb 17, 2008
I don't really understand this "HDV and DV are the same thing" vibe.

First of all HDV is 6 times the resolution of DV, and on a high definition TV or computer monitor the difference is clear. The difference in resolution is more than the difference between DVD and VCD resolution, so what are you saying?

Some video cameras support HDV, while others (such as mine) don't support HDV. Obviously I would need to buy or rent a new camcorder if I want to use HDV, and I will need a more powerful editing workstation to handle the editing. So how can you say no difference?

Have you ever compared projected HDV and projected DV on a cinema projector? And there was no difference?

As for DV vs HDV there is noooooo difference in acquisition apart from the extra pixels you get with HDV.
This is like saying "there is no difference between white and black except that one is lighter than the other". It is a pointless waste of words. And in fact, there are other differences such as the limitations of the interframe compression of HDV when you're shooting sports or other high motion content, leading to blockiness in your video.

TV/MoviesRe: Im Looking For A Job As A Cameraman. by Seun(mod): 9:11am On Feb 17, 2008
Trust me, you won't be happy in Nigeria unless you:
(1) run your own business, or (2) work in a very big multinational company.

Cameramen don't get paid a lot; nothing like what you're used to in Canada, afaik.
The way Nigerian videos are shot, the cameraman is like a replaceable commodity.

However, if you run your own professional and reliable videography business, then
you can earn as much as you need to earn by getting lots and lots of clients.

CareerRe: Advertising Or Lecturing? by Seun(mod): 1:49pm On Feb 16, 2008
Job security is a funny thing:

- Those who have it - the most competent employees - don't need it
because if they are fired they will easily get jobs elsewhere.

- Those who need it - the less competent employees - can't have it because
an employer who retains incompetent employees will eventually go bankrupt.

So forget about job security. What you need is lots of money and room for advancement.

TV/MoviesIs Film School Necessary? by Seun(mod): 9:15pm On Feb 15, 2008
Do aspiring filmmakers really need to go to film school,
or can they learn everything they need by just reading books and practicing the craft?
Are people who have attended film school generally better than those who have not?
It's a very controversial topic, and I am throwing it to the house!

Christianity EtcRe: The God-shaped Hole by Seun(mod): 9:19am On Feb 14, 2008
Sorry, but my experience does not support the God-shaped hole theory.
It's just something pastors tell you to make you feel the stress they make
you go through in the name of serving God is truly worth it. It's a myth.

It is true that there are some people who are never happy no matter what
they achieve in life, but that is just a symptoms of clinical depression, a
disease which responds well to drugs and other medical treatments.
Depression can make even Bill Gates feel that he is a loser in life, etc.

Many Christians are unhappy, but they deny their unhappiness in the name
of faith. They claim to have "true joy" which is "different from happiness".
But if an unbeliever is unhappy, they claim it is because he lacks Jesus.
ComputersRe: Buying A Hard Disk by Seun(mod): 8:51am On Feb 14, 2008
How long did the Seagate last? How long did the Maxtor last? Were they external hard disks?

Really, it's not the PC outlet that determines how long your hard disk will last. Provided they don't mishandle the hard disk, it's a matter of luck. That's what the warranty is for. (The hawkers are the ones who don't give you any warranty!)

Laying down your life for any reason is silly.
ComputersRe: Buying A Hard Disk by Seun(mod): 8:26am On Feb 14, 2008
I agree. Either you seek out the 10% that are not glorified hawkers or you buy a cheap drive from a well-known brand ( Seagate? Western Digital?) and take your chances. What brand was your old hard disk that crashed?

ComputersRe: Buying A Hard Disk by Seun(mod): 7:58am On Feb 14, 2008
A bad drive will pack up in a few weeks, so you just need a warranty otherwise it's all about luck.
PoliticsRe: Why The Nigeria Police Is Not Effective by Seun(mod): 7:04pm On Feb 13, 2008
The issue with Nigerian police is not leadership. , not until they are well equipped, trained
You are right and you are wrong. Yes, they should be trained. Yes, they should be equipped. But who is going to do it? The leaders. Also, it has been observed that apart from the low pay the officers on the road are entitled to, they are also required to pass along certain amounts of money to their leaders regularly. They have to settle their bosses. And how will they do that if they do not extort money one way or the other? And once a public officer is initiated into the habit of corruption, he/she is tainted for life. Every time he is broke, that will be the first thing that comes to mind.

Your mother needs to be punished for what she did to you ladies. And your father for allowing it.
If i marry a lady that believes in child abuse (impossible!), I'll do all I can to protect my children from her.
