what about disabled people
I read a story about a man who was born without arms and legs. But he can still talk, so he's an international motivational speaker!! Capitalism allows him to exploit the profit potential of his limited abilities and escape poverty.

people without degrees
That includes me, and my site is the second most popular Nigerian website through entrepreneurship. wink
Under capitalism, people without degrees can do business, learn a trade, or sponsor their own education.

foreigners who can't speak english
They can learn english, and then become rich by serving as professional translators for others.

women who have lots of young children
I have no sympathy for supposedly intelligent women who breed like rabbits. Human beings are not supposed to give birth to children they can't care for. Under capitalism, they can simply give up the children for adoption.

and so, may not be able to work?
Most of the cases of "inability" to work, as I've demonstrated above, are actually cases of unwillingness to work. But in the very rare cases where someone is truly unable to work, we have family and charity. wink

I'm anti-capitalist and will continue being one.
Until you grow up and study Economics 101.

It is only the rich who benefit from capitalist states.
It's only the lazy that have to remain poor in capitalist states. In communist states, everyone is poor!

Communism is the best. <<snip>> no one is saying it's perfect, but it's a lot better than capitalism.
If this is true, then why is it that people living in communist countries (USSR, Cuba) are always trying to escape?

How can you be in a society where people work hand in hand to benefit everyone and say it's not good?
Because there is no such thing as "everyone". Because what benefits me may not benefit you. So it's just a lie.

In Theory Communism is the best, but in practice name one good fully communist nation?
Which theory? According to the many theories of economics 101, communism is utter foolishness!

Socialism is the best! I mixture, the government should control the emenities, but not strangle hold every business, thats just bad economics
Why should government control the amenities when the private sector can provide them perfectly well?
Why is it that whenever the government of any country tries to control food the result is famine?
If they are so bad with food, it's stupid to think that they will be better with water or electricity. Wake up!!

Yeah, they are victims of capitalism, because, some of the state government,
You've said it yourself; it's the corrupt government.
The problem of corrupt government is present in communist countries too, so it has nothing to do with capitalism.

Capitalism is very much against theft: why bother to work hard if others can just steal your possessions?
Business › Re: Ethics In Capitalism by Seun(mod): 11:46am On Mar 25, 2007
Adequate laws against theft in Nigeria? Could it be possible that unpaid public servants in Nigeria can utilize such laws to their advantage?
Unpaid public servants in Nigeria are not victims of capitalism. They are victims of a corrupt government that wastes limited resources trying to inefficiently provide what the private sector can provide adequately. But we do have nice laws in Nigeria - the problem we have is in the enforcement of those laws. More laws won't help.

That's ridiculous. Without money, people won't be able to do anything. Money is man's most useful invention.

- Minimum wage is rubbish. Forget about it.
- Exploitation of cheap labor is not corruption. Americans call it 'outsourcing'. The practice equalizes wages.
- Cigarette smoking is bad for your health, but for some people, the benefits ("image"wink may outweight the risk.
Capitalism doesn't force you to accept tobacco ads, but it allows you to start a business to help nicotine addicts.
- Workers with unpaid salaries are victims of theft, and we have adequate laws against theft in Nigeria.

NGO: "non-profit" organization that collects huge sums of money from bleeding-heart westerners to "solve" problems like malaria and gender violence. NGO means non-governmental organization. It's the business of charity. wink
Politics › Re: Eight Years Later: Power Generation Worsens by Seun(mod): 9:45am On Mar 25, 2007
Your components are imported, so it's the same thing. Who says generator components can't be imported too?
There's nothing evil about generators or the people importing them. Without them, things will be much worse. If we privatize PHCN properly tommorrow, the generator importer that will "sabotage" it has not been born. wink

Computers › Re: Advantages Of Desktop Computers Versus Laptops? by Seun(mod): 9:18am On Mar 25, 2007
1) A desktop computer tends to be cheaper than a laptop computer of similar specification
2) A desktop computer is more easy to upgrade. There's more space for new PCI cards and IDE disks to fit into.
3) Faulty accesories and components on a desktop are easy to replace, sometimes without even opening the case!
