Well, amayo, I'm interested in running the sort of company you want to work for, but trust is the problem.

Programming › Re: What Programming Languages Have You Used? by Seun(mod): 8:45am On Mar 26, 2007
looking at the array of software talents we have(above),
I'm afraid I'm no longer one of them. I'm not patient enough to write a program if I can't see money flowing in. wink

why don't we get together and do some open source stuff to tackle software problems basically in Nigeria
The way to benefit from open source software is to use and customise free software packages that already exist. Just go to www.sourceforge.net and www.freshmeat.net and download to your heart's content. wink

Not all, but most. More than 50%. wink
Christianity Etc › Re: Who Should We Pray To Jehovah Or Jesus? by Seun(mod): 8:34am On Mar 26, 2007
babaearly sounds like a Jehovah's witness. Otherwise he would have said "God the Father" instead of Jehovah.
Business › Re: Please How Can I Use This To Make Myself Finacially Independent With Machine. by Seun(mod): 8:26am On Mar 26, 2007
You bought the machine without knowing what it's for? So sad to hear that.
This section of the forum is full of ideas, anyway. Just search: www.nairaland.com/nigeria/action-search
Business › Re: Do You Have Many Ideas? by Seun(mod): 8:25am On Mar 26, 2007
I also have ideas, many of which are "great" ideas, but I know that what I need is the right idea.
The right idea may not be great, but it would be an idea I can act upon with my limited resources and succeed.
Politics › Re: Vote The Igbo Man For President, Why? by Seun(mod): 8:19am On Mar 26, 2007
Right now, Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa are all the same - they all go there to take our money.
That is why we need to limit our government so there'll not be so much money for them to steal. Privatization!
Nairaland General › Re: Say Something About Seun (the Ruling King) by Seun(mod): 8:08am On Mar 26, 2007
I have the right to be autocratic because the forum belongs to me. On the other hand, Nigeria does not belong to Obasanjo or Abacha, so there's a big difference. I'm not very good at making people realise how right I am. wink
Business › Re: Soccer Bookmaking Web Portal: Great Business Idea by Seun(mod): 7:48am On Mar 26, 2007
Oh, come on, akinlabi. You can't possibly believe that you are the first to come up with this simple idea.
Celebrities › Re: Is Neyo Gay? by Seun(mod): 9:09pm On Mar 25, 2007
Gay men are not necessarily more sensitive or feminine than straight men like handsome me. wink
Politics › Re: Niger Delta Militants Kidnap 8 Highway Workers by Seun(mod): 9:05pm On Mar 25, 2007
The guys kidnapping expatriates down here are all criminals!
Exactly. I wonder why people like to politicise common crimes like murder and kidnapping.

A lot of people are quick to abuse all Niger Deltans. I guess it's the same thing when foreigners see all nigerians as 419ers. It's the cross they have to carry until the system is cleansed.
Exactly. I'd like to apologize on behalf of these well-meaning but mistaken people.
Romance › Re: .. by Seun(mod): 8:59pm On Mar 25, 2007
He might still be 'friends' with his ex but do you think he'll want to marry her?
It could be that the lady is his insurance policy in case his long distance relationship doesn't work.
But seriously, should a man have to completely abandon all his female friends because of marriage? huh
Family › Re: I Want Her To Be My Wife But My Dad Says We're Not Compatible by Seun(mod): 8:56pm On Mar 25, 2007
Ok, I agree with others that you should ask him why. Also, ask yourself whether the two of you are compatible.
Politics › Re: Eight Years Later: Power Generation Worsens by Seun(mod): 8:49pm On Mar 25, 2007
All this trouble because we are afraid of privatization? We human beings can be quite irrational!
Music/Radio › Re: Nokia 'First Chance' Show by Seun(mod): 8:42pm On Mar 25, 2007
A well-executed clone of West African Idol is much better than a boring musical show that happens to be "original". If I want to copy a reality tv show, West African Idol will be it! So, I think this show will be successful. wink
Christianity Etc › Re: The True Sin In The Garden Of Eden: Eve Slept With Satan by Seun(mod): 8:28pm On Mar 25, 2007
Actually, Adam also had anal sex with the devil. Satan is bisexual, you see.
Romance › Re: .. by Seun(mod): 8:16pm On Mar 25, 2007
If you have any doubts whatsoever about your upcoming wedding, then you must postpone it.
Marriage is not something you can jump into and jump out of easily, especially as a Nigerian woman. I say postpone.
That is not to say that your fiance is at fault, but you must be convinced beyond any reasonable doubt,

Sports › Re: Basketball by Seun(mod): 7:23pm On Mar 25, 2007
Isn't Basketball rather complicated? There are rules about how long you can stand at a spot, how many steps you can take, when you are allowed to intercept the ball in the air, et cetera. How can one just have fun playing it? huh
Sports › Re: Basketball Fans! by Seun(mod): 7:22pm On Mar 25, 2007
I'm not yet a basketball fan. The only interesting matches are the very close ones (101-99, 75-74!)

What about you, Oga McRen? Oya, contribute!
Sports › Re: Grassroot Soccer Sponsors Needed Please by Seun(mod): 7:10pm On Mar 25, 2007
Investors will need to know how many spectators your club matches are able to draw, the resulting revenues based on ticket prices, the cost of renting the stadium for a match, and the total cost of sponsorship. wink

Webmasters › Re: Efficient Wap Site by Seun(mod): 3:19pm On Mar 25, 2007
You can't design a site on your phone as far as I know, but you can design a wap site for your phone.
Search the Internet for 'wap 2.0 tutorial' and come back if you don't find something good.
Programming › Re: Article: Why A Career In Computer Programming Sucks by Seun(mod): 3:11pm On Mar 25, 2007
Intriguing article. It argues that computer programming sucks because of the following reasons:
- Temporary nature of knowledge capital: you always have to learn new things to remain competitive.
- The low prestige of a career in computer programming.
- The foreignization of computer programming (this point actually favors people in delevoping coutries)
- Project management sucks too: even when you are promoted, it still doesn't get better.
- The working conditions suck: I don't know, but I think air-conditioned server/coding rooms are pretty ok!
