Two people that repeatedly hurt each other cannot claim to be in love. They are just relationship addicts.
Romance › Re: Should She Let Her Lying Boyfriend Go? by Seun(mod): 10:50am On Aug 12, 2006
If you don't trust a man, you shouldn't even think of marrying him. The time she spent with this boyfriend of hers would have been better spent dating other people or just facing her work. She should get rid of him quickly!

its just human nature to be destructive even when we're happy
No, it is immaturity. Love and emotional immaturity are not the same thing, sister. Love is 100% positive.

Life is more glorious that death. Instead of "dying for" your partner, why not live to love him/her?

Picking the two top progressive male candidates in presidential popularity polls? That's simple common sense guesswork, which may still be wrong. Even if one of them becomes president, it only means he guessed right.

Wasn't there another 'prophet' who said Ghana would wil this year's world cup? What happened when the 'prophecy' failed? We forgot about it. That's what's going to happen to this 'prophecy' if it fails. We'll forget!

Chances are that either:
- He hasn't seriously considered the possibility of friendship with women. He just wants love (i.e. sex).
- Your views about what makes a friend special are not compatible.
- You're ok by him but he he's already with someone else that's also ok.

Now for some unsolicited advice: manage your emotions, don't let your emotions manage you!

Love does not hurt. Whatever you're experiencing that is hurting you is not love. Better realise it!

This is no western conspiracy; it's simply the work of one unprincipled photographer.

Is it that God is not sure of which one of the two men will be president, or is this man just guessing?

God cannot wake up one day and say he has changed and is no longer wicked.

Afterall he is the unchanging God. An unchanging God will remain as wicked today as he was in the past.

Don't you get it? Not all whom God kills are DEAD. They are dead in flesh but not in spirit. For all you know, right now they can be rejoicing in heaven.
Tell that to the judge next time God asks you to kill someone on his behalf! grin

David murdered - Yes. However David suffered
I don't think you're counting the non-Israelites he killed for fun. David only "suffered" for a single Israelite man he murdered, but non-Israelites are human beings too. How come he didn't pay with his life? The "suffering" he experienced for killing a man was the death of his innocent son. That's injustice: his son was not guilty.

He was a prohet who RELEASED the slaves from phoroah's wiked ways.
He fought for Israelite slaves but permitted Israelites to kill and enslave others. Are you a jew? No? So die!!
Islam › Re: Why Do Muslims Hate Christians So Much, Could This Be The Anti-christ Coming? by Seun(mod): 11:38pm On Aug 08, 2006
David was happy to murder 100 (or is it 1000?) innocent Phillistines in order to get a wife.

Joshua led the Israelites in their campaign to completely annihilate inhabitants of the "promised land". Specificaly, they were asked to kil and utterly destroy men, women, babies and even cattle.

The old testament laws written by Moses allowed Israelites to own human beings as property and to sell their daughters (and sons?) into slavery. Foreign slaves had absolutely no rights, while local slaves had few. Unmarried women captured in war were allowed to be taken as property and then raped (forced marriage, forced sex).

In the old testament God killed a man's innocent wives, children including babies, and servants for his petty theft. It is cruel to punish theft with death, and to extend it to the thief's innocent family. It is not acceptable.
Islam › Re: Why Do Muslims Hate Christians So Much, Could This Be The Anti-christ Coming? by Seun(mod): 11:26pm On Aug 08, 2006
David was a murdered and Joshua practiced genocide. Moses was in support of rape and slavery.

Accounts in the old testament reveal God to be cruel, unyielding, and hypocritical. Let's leave Muhammad alone.

Those things happen because people allow their emotions to overule their minds when choosing a mate.

lauryn, you want friendship that will lead to marriage. Is this man especially qualified for the role of a husband?

Business › Re: Nigerians Abroad Remit $5bn Annually by Seun(mod): 2:30pm On Aug 08, 2006
the fact remains that mos of us in the diaspora send money home to help their loved ones, some to the point where they deny themselves of what they need in the diaspora.
The greater fact is that the unwillingness of diasporeans to keep their money is not the Nigerian government's fault.

Also, for the most part, such monies are usually recieved unappreciated.
This is also not the government's fault. It's the fault of the unnapreciative relatives demanding the money.

I, first of all, didnt say or imply "excessively high unemployment"
Actually, you did. You said, "If the government, for instance provided the right environment that would create jobs (yes, via various policies, it is the govt's job to create the right environment to attract foreign direct investment, etc), then there would be no excessively high unemployment"

The unemployment rate in Nigeria is very low because of the prevailing market freedom. People work because there's no alternative. Job-seekers are willing to accept any jobs they find because parasitic living is not an option.

They should be banned, the drivers should be arrested and the jail keys thrown away. Case closed: we´re better off without their menace.
How can you even think of something so ridiculous? How can you want to ban someone's occupation? How would you feel if someone decided to ban your own occupation? Please, let's be sensible and fair in our thinking.
