OmoBendel24: True @the bolded. How many people really wan go holiday for inside that yeye cold? But don't try that rubbish for summer tickets from late May into June, till after summer, ticket prices will mostly only be climbing. Also avoid doing that for Christmas/New Year period, buy such ticket from between September and deep into November, that's even for those of us traveling from Naija to that side, but for those coming, na die! Exactly and thanksgiving weekend. |

As much as you're not happy with the outcome, I will advise you to try other countries and re-apply in 12 months. |

Mjolnir: well, i challenge/test everything, i dont just swallow it. cos some1 said so try booking lagos to newyork or houston, check next weeks prices...versus 5months price. then come back, lets talk. you need to be aware that certain factors come into play in ticket pricing...such as holiday season, weather..winter/summer etc
the cheaper rates for booking ahead is more pronounced for local flights ....my 2 cents From my experience, almost all plane will be fill from Europe to U.S and vice vicersa and the price always will almost remain the same except for weather conditions and holiday period, most issue is on the flight from Africa to these European or Middle East hub, filling the plane is tricky which leads to the difference in price, e.g Emirates : Lagos to Washington 14th February to 24th Feb is N332,000 and same route on May 14th to May 24th is N345,000. From these examples we can see that February 14th flight on Emirates is not filling up fast while the May 14th flight is performing normally for that date. If you're tourist, I believe your decision should not be based on flight alone but hotel, Flight to New York is generally cheap but hotel is expensive, you won't get a standard room for $75 a night in a 3 star hotel in New York, calculating that amount over 10 days is like $800 the only advantage you will get from flying to New York is if you have free accommodation whereas you can get $450 for 10 days in another State. |

fkj950ax: It is a not a special case.
Your cheapest ticket 10 days to go will have some hidden restrictions, you better don't have any reason to deviate, alter or over pack luggage
It is not an age old logic.
It's a COMMERCIAL system by airlines to maximize profits on passenger tickets sales. Yes true.... |

Mjolnir: That age old logic, appears to be gradually going away..or mine is a special case. Have been watching ticket prices for over 5 wks now, and it actually got cheapest about 10days to go. Most times this is caused by change of equipment from 777 to A380 |

Buhari there, whatever issue you have with the President, please don't turn it on me and respect my opinion as I have respected yours, I will be objective with the issue on ground and Nigeria was not Dubai or Singapore before Pres. Buhari became President in 2015, Please can you get me a link to that travel ban in 19984, Please I beg you, please the link should not be from our uncooked journalist because in 1984 it was never travel ban due to Nigerian overstaying in U.S, I need a real reference. flourishing247: Isn't that expensive? I've not flown to Turkey before but I know some US tickets is cheaper than that. it's same day ticket on e-visa... if you're traveling to Turkey next week you can get it as low as N260k but if you're traveling on e-visa then you must fly Turkish Airline which is N354,000. |

Airline ticket prices increase every hour as the flight gets nearer. Even local flight. Just paid around N535,000 for Turkish Airline to Istanbul for my sis. |

KaptainAfrika: You would be right but then you have to wonder why CHINA, SAUDI ARABIA with their wonderful HUMAN RIGHTS RECORDS do not have Visa restrictions by the US. you fail to include Philipine, Egypt and Uganda..... They do not understand what is going on. Politics is bigger than your B1/B2, I'm not denying the fact that the Govt has failed massively but we do not help matters with the way we migrate to U.S and stay put illegally. |

Nigerians with U.S Visa who decided to stay put in U.S or move to Canada from U.S are the reason for what is going on. We can only blame ourselves. |

OmoBendel24: I won't want to undermine the embassy though, but going by your transcript and profile, you mostly should have nailed this with just little margin for denial. But we no dey know finish!
Meanwhile, I go still tell you, una wey dey support the disaster GMB, una no dey go different market or EMBASSY from us. This refusal (and so many others of late) is a whole lot related to what this current government has turned the country into. Till 5-6 years ago here sef, everywhere still soft for that embassy, ordinary Ghana, SA or and UAE travel history still dey work that time. But una see una na? nawa oooo..hnmmmmm |

OmoBendel24: That definitely is the main/default account attached to your card, the current is the added/secondary one. If you like, have 10 million naira in your CURRENT ACCOUNT without money in that your SAVINGS ACCOUNT and you need to use that card for a POS transaction even in Nigeria and you happen to be in a place where their POS machine doesn't give you the option to select account type (it invariably will only pick your default account for the transaction), that transaction will not fly as long as you don't have that figure in your SAVINGS ACCOUNT. Oh okay, I get it now thank you. |
