OmoBendel24: It may not necessarily be a B1/B2 visa that they are on, else, that would be a very dumb move made. I believe strongly the situation isn't really as illustrated nor as understood here. There are several other visa category that could allow such move. I bet if it were a B1/B2 visa the other family members were holding, the woman barely would have left that building without her own visa being cancelled, barely! This is my personal take however.... I thought he said the dad is in U.S and you know us Nigerian, we can dare anything. |

AfonjaBoston: Just curious, this mystery lady that was denied she "came down " from the USA with a visa to pick up the kids?
She living in the USA on a visa and want to immigrate with the kids on a tourist visa too?
Things they happen for naija! Lol Can you imagine? they both got U.S visa using the kids as ''ties'' the next plan is to get visa for the twin so they can all move abroad. |

aboyaji: That's true though. A travel history is good. Not everyone has the money. Like that woman heard the last question I was asked "have you ever traveled *****"? She came outside and was asking why I hadn't traveled to Dubai or Qatar.
For my little mind, no be everybody get money o. why bother apply for U.S visa which is more expensive to travel to then those mentioned countries? |

After checking all the cheap flights from newyork. And doing all the plus and minus...Na dem i settle for las las from JFK? |

hammed71: sir you can try caboverde airlines since it's Boston, they have cheap prices but might not be as comfortable as emirates With 7-8 hours stop over, I can fly Cabo if they will allow me leave the airport. |
Travel › Re: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by seyewest(op): 7:37pm On Feb 08, 2020 |
OmoBendel24: It depends on several other factors though. Many a time during search have I seen cheap return flights, if not cheaper flights, on Emirates, either coming into or originating from BOS. Yes but since they reduce the flight to Boston to one daily flight, it's a bit expensive to fly to Boston with Emirates, I think the cheapest might be on Delta or Airfrance. |

OmoBendel24: True.... But you go gat transport yourself from JFK to LGA, that one na additional cost, person must factor those things in. But you see that their "first two checked in baggage free" policy? Na Bae! For inside America? I value am wella. Some 70-80 dollars saved if you are flying from a local wing of same airport you flew into, e.g LAX, LAS. Then LGA vs JFK, DAL vs DFW, HOU vs IAH, etc na somehow bad market. But I ain't using no SPIRIT, na laptop bag be their biggest free baggage allowance . Every other thing na black market price you go get am from dem! I just realized I've not been to LA |

Apparently, you didnt read the fine print Southwest is the oga... |

fkj950ax: 31 is also under 40. You can't categorically state this is the reason she got approved.
I don't think it has to do with age or gender. She was assessed as a person
She has good pay and great travel history, but if we look at it NL style, we would have said she has no strong ties, being single and no kids is the reason for refusal.
These things aren't hard and fast rule.
Her transcript for me shows a methodological person who prepared well and stayed confident.
These are my opinions. Better pikin, your brain is working. |

highvibration: approved b1/b2. Lagos embassy. and i have to say, I couldn't have done it without this thread.
vo: where are you going to? paper me: i ramble for about 30 seconds. (he is nodding his head as if its enough abeg) vo: i'm going to approve your visa.... (hands over pink slip)
observations/advice: 1. i wasn't asked for any documents. in my application as I was going for a conference, i selected only B1 ( i got that tip from here) 2. i prepared my questions and answers and rehearsed (nairaland tip). even yesterday i read the thread and saw a lady answered her question immediately with the name of the course, venue, state. so i updated my answers so my response will be concise (another tip from here) 3. i didnt hesitate with my answers (the benefit of rehearsing) . too many people were saying 'ehn?', meanwhile me far away could hear the questions 3. don't ramble. be confident. don't lie on your application. i've been refused over 10yrs ago and even though i didnt do biometrics, I mentioned it. (nairaland tip) LIES WILL MAKE YOU NERVOUS. 4. don't engage in chatchat with people. all that 'naija is bad/they arent giving visa's etc etc. it ruins your energy. be silent and focus on why you are there (my personal advice) 5. they were approving and refusing people. the vo i met refused a lady for student visa because the course date was in the past. he advised her to get a new i20 from the uni. he refused a mama who couldn't explain what she did there her last visit for 2mths. they aren't demons. they have their reasons for either refusals or approvals.
Good luck to all. I hope this helps. Good news and congrats. |

Mancala: I can't do long layovers. Time is always of the essence. I wish more airlines would join Delta in doing direct flights to/from Nigeria. They have a monopoly on that route and squeeze us for every penny Delta should do better, we're one of their most important market in Africa. |

earthrealm: emirates usually hv long stop overs in uae, with minimum being 9hrs . they used to lodge pax in hotels for layovers exceeding 8hrs, am unsure if such still happens That does not happen with Emirates anymore, They do Dubai Connect now and there's eligibility rule to it. Some fares with long layover do not guarantee hotels for lay over. |

OfficialMrsJ: Hi guys I'm new here, I've read a lot and I've learnt somethings in my short read. But I want to ask a question that I don't seem to have seen anything on, maybe coz I've not gone thru all the threads, its quite a lot though. Who does one send an invitation letter to? The Visa applicant has a copy but does the person inviting need to send the letter to the embassy? I need to know asap as our interview is in two weeks. How is the issue of invitation letter done, we are going for a wedding. Thanks in anticipation of a quick response I will advice you not to stress yourself with letter of invitation especially if it's from family and friends, most time your interview is less than 2 mins and that letter carries no weight, what you should be worried about is your ''ties'' to Nigeria, those are very important. |

AfonjaBoston: What type of hotel? na Econolodge? lol
While classification of nationwide chains or independently owned hotels are purely subjective and based off customer reviews The likes of Embassy, Radisson, Four Seasons are typically "3 Star" and I would love to see a link that gives you a deal at that price
I am interested.
Anyways baba I get a business trip to make to naija around October 7- 27 make I bless your hustle find me tickets
I don't do long layovers and preference is usually direct flights but would not mind a Paris or Frankfurt stopover no more than 2hrs I just realized they gave me genius discount due to my patronage on booking.com, please send me PM. |

Thanks seyewest for the ticket you got me at a very good deal. Though we haven't met before but you've proven to be a very honest dude. Your communication technique with your client is topnotch, trying to make sure all is fine . So grateful!
POE was cool(though was sent for secondary inspection) the immigration lady was very friendly. She got me cracking up while going through my luggages. There wasn't much asked.
I here say Chicago POE tough these days Thank you for trusting me, I tried not to route my client through Chicago unless I have no choice. Happy you had a nice trip. God bless you always. |
