Good Afternoon House,

My husband and I were granted B1/B2 visitors visa in 2016 and in 2017 I gave birth in the US although we wrote to the embassy informing them of the change of plans. We paid all our bills and we have our zero balance.

We sent our passport via Dropbox for our visa renewal but we were asked to come for an interview. No reason was ticked on the form.

We are about to schedule our appointment, has anybody experienced this. Please advise Thanks.
This is not the Birthing Thread and it's perfectly normal for you and your husband to be invited for interview since you've had a baby in US.

thanks bro.

Is there any limit to the amount of money one can travel with to US as BTA?
Mr/Mrs Enemyofprogress you can take any amount but anything above $9,999 must be declared to the Nigeria Immigration/Custom and U.S Immigration/Custom.

Good evening everyone.

Please does one need to have the yellow fever vaccine before travelling to US?
No not necessary but you can get it just for your own good (Health reason).

I know that there are taxis that queue up to pick passengers at the airport. If it is one of the taxis you entered, you can contact the airport authority, describe the taxicab, describe the driver and time you entered the taxi. That way they can narrow down on the driver. It wouldn't cost you much, just a phone call and couple of mails. America is a place where compliants are looked at very well. You might even get your money back.
Do this Asap....

There’s a reason I generally avoid this online bickering and throwing shade, it’s pointless. Earlier on, when I started this thread, some persons put a lot of effort into derailing the thread, it didn’t work then, it won’t work now. All these “I’m right, you’re wrong” posts no dey help anybody. Live and let live, abeg.

I don't think you should be worried. not using the visa is not an offense. for the Poe, Houston and Chicago in my opinion have overzealous CBP's . You can go thru New York if you're still worried

Oga, good morning.
I'm 6'3. I wasn't seated behind the buckhead.

I already wrote,above,how it happened .

On a second thought, it could have been worse. What if he drove off with my waist bag?I had my passport and credit cards in there. I feel used, and I hope I get over it.
Sharing it will help in a way.... Pele... sorry.. This is for other travelers, you must open your eye well well.

I don't know what they did to the meter thing that made me see 227$. From the airport to Manhattan. I was furious, but needed to get going. Gave him 300,only for him to return it,saying I gave him 3$. I couldn't do anything, I gave him another 300$. He came down to help bring out my luggage. When I stepped out of the car, my waist bag dropped in his car. He picked it,asking me to put it in my box, before bad guys snatch it. Acting all nice asking me to take care of my health.
I had 400$ inside an envelope stuck in the bag. The ID!OT took the money.

I got to the hotel only to realise all that's happened.
WOW WOW WOW..... Why not get a train card at the airport... Maybe it's due to your illness, you seem not prepared for this trip at all.

Brother, I have a small concern I am hoping you can help clarify. My wife and I applied for US B1/B2 visas and we were granted same back in January 2017.

We explained to the visa officer during our interview that we will be travelling during the Easter of 2017 for a vacation but that we also intend to make enquiries in Houston about giving birth in the US.

However, wifey and I didn't get pregnant and an opportunity came to travel to Australia in October 2017 which we preferred. This year 2018, we have been to the UK but we never really had reason to go to the US.

Our US visas will expire in Jan 2019 and I am concerned that we may have renewal issues if we appear to have wasted the 2 years we were initially granted.

So, I have arranged to travel to Houston in September 2018 for a one-week training and my wife will accompany me. The training is legit., company sponsored etc.

However, two of my colleagues in the office claim they were grilled at POE to the point of humiliation because they hadn't travelled for a while on their US visas. One of them was so offended that he claimed he told the CBP officers point blank that he would rather return to Nigeria instead of enduring further humiliation.

Then at that point, the CBP officers allegedly calmed down, treated him more respectfully and eventually cleared him.

I don't want my wife and I to suffer a similar fate. Should we engage the US embassy before travelling and inform them of our changed travel circumstances? Or should we just plough ahead to POE and hope no similar issues arise?
To be honest I see no problem here so far you have good intention for visiting US and you have plan to return as at when stated. I will advise you to give a good reason for not visiting U.S when you're not suppose to.

This is really unfortunate! Stay and process your stay in the US on a visitor's visa? How can you make a comment like this in a public space with your first name and surname? POE officers know about nairaland! They probably visit this sight to read up and stay updated with Naija US travel trends!
I tire oooo

Hello fam,

How are you all doing today?, i have an appointment with the Usa embassy this coming week, me, my wife and my mother, my wife is pregnant and planing to give birth in the USA,am A ceo of 2 companies, And i have i my CAC, also am into car business, and i got most of all my cars in USA, thinking if i should get an invite from my car dealers in USA, and get a normal invite from my friend in USA as well, might give me edge, please what do you think about my plans,in getting two invite letters? or i should just go and face them, i hate USA embassy thou, i have been to dubia like 6times, south africa once,Russia once, we expecting our 1st baby,i was even told to lie that i we have a kid before, please help me out
You must not lie because it will affect you later. You need to invest your time in research (Read thread 1-3).
You want your wife to birth in U.S but you're thinking of using 2 invite, Do you have a doctor in U.S already and if yes you need to show the embassy your correspondent with the hospital/doctor and lastly you must go to the embassy with your bank statement.
Please do your research on thread 1-3 and also on the U.S Birthing thread, it won't take you up to 3 days.

This is what they keep showing me.

Do I continue checking while hopin that a dare pops up or do I call the embassy to make enquiries.

I want to go for the interview by October
That means you're not telling us something... when was the last time you visited US embassy? because it seems you've been denied recently, this is the reason why you can't see any date.

What's the problem, don't hit on me like that, your manner of passing message across doesn't reflect your best level of politeness, thank you.

Okay, I've stopped thinking about myself but don't understand what else you mean by ties, from going through hundreds of pages on this website and and the US embassy website itself, I realised that ties has to do with social economic, family, job, travel history and anything else. So the only tie I don't have right now is the travel history but I earn a good enough salary to self sponsor the trip, I'm married, for almost as long as the period I've been working, which is not less than 5yrs as I said earlier, my husband is in the medical profession and I've a daughter.

Pls correct me otherwise so I can get a better picture, thank you.
Must you go to U.S now? build your travel history i.e. go to Europe, South East Asia... try to attend Conference abroad and present papers, if you want to be absolute sure of getting U.S visa 100% (U.S Visa is not guarantee even for those with very good travel history, reason is that a lot of Nigerians has abused the U.S tourist visa making hard for people like you to get one)

I have no recent travel history outside of Nigeria, lately(I'm a very introverted type, I could spend a lifetime indoors and yeah, I mean that seriously) but I'm an academic freak, I can go to the moon just to get some knowledge, that's the kind of person I'm.

I've been working, not less than 5yrs now and married.

A little more research showed me that this international organizing body of the conference, has chapter in Ghana, South Africa and Uganda, what I'm not sure is if they have as many and are as coordinated as the ones in the US. The chapters in the US are many and hold meetings at different times, so attendance would depend on convenience, right?

What is background check please?(is it an FBI kind of thing?) Lol.

Finally, what's the rationale behind my scheduling to next year?
You're still thinking about yourself.... You don't have strong ties... your ties are normal not extraordinary...
work on your ties.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by seyewest(m): 11:38pm On Aug 15, 2018
Mzblossom1:
Wow, I finally got a response there, thanks for your time and attention.

Let me lay some facts bare, I can also answer more questions later, if there are any. First off, it's a one day conference, secondly this conference is falling during my leave(so I'm wondering now, won't the VO be reasoning that I'll be on leave and I'm supposed to be probably /most likely vacaying, @ with my daughter), instead of leaving her at home and rushing off a few days for a one day conference when I'm supposed to have a full blown one month leave...huh

As for the sponsor part, I'm doing that because, it's my leave period and free time, just like I can spend my money on vacation, same way I can pay to improve
myself.

It's a free conference because the US oganizers of the event is a not for profit organization.

I have no travel history.

Waiting for the critics,

Thank you.
You're thinking about yourself not from the V.O perspective, one thing you need to understand is that, the V.O come across your type of profile more than 200 times a week, so what you're saying or thinking is not special or exceptional... Can I ask you 3 questions?
i) Do you have any recent travel history outside of Nigeria?
ii) How long have you been at your present work (They do background check)
iii) What is your martial status

You need to dig deep and do research, you may end up shifting your interview to next year if you happen to be honest with yourself.
Goodluck

is it in USD or Naira? you can give it a try but you need to check the exchange rate of the day you will be making payment. Also which airline.

I'm sorry i forgot to mention that.
It's okay... One thing you need to know about one way ticket especially from Nigeria is that if return ticket to JFK is N350K, one way ticket for such trip will be around N250K or more.
Your best bet is flying into Chicago and fly to Minneapolis or take a bus. I checked Wakanow and the cheapest fare for that date is Turkish airways N332K and return for that date is N388K.

I am sorry, your post was unnecessary.

A one way ticket doesn't require a return date. You should know this by now. Just so you know, a student on an F1 visa going for a degree which requires at least 2 years to complete doesn't need a two-way ticket.

Thank you

If you're trying to avoid scam, you should invest in research.... we have different site to check flight to U.S and the cheapest flight to U.S till then will not be less than N305,000, you won't see anything below that amount.
As for the site you can try Wakanow, Travelstart, Skyscanner and the airline websites.

Good luck.
