7Alexander: Ladyguinivere justwise
Please I need an urgent reply. My cousin was booked for an interview at the US embassy Abuja for tomorrow, 15th. She actually left Lagos for Abuja this morning, only for her to receive a mail around 6pm this evening that the Abuja embassy will not be conducting interviews on the 15th, 16th and 17th. Her expected date of travel is 23rd August, that's next week Thursday. She is supposed to attend an older cousins wedding on the 25th.
My question is, considering this unexpected change, is it possible for the interview to be held before the expected date of travel?
If it doesn't take place, and the date of travel passes, does it mean automatic rejection?
Do you think she should wait in Abuja to know if a new date will be fixed soon enough?
Please I need a reply as she is considering travelling back to Lagos tomorrow. I just need an informed view on this issue. Anybody who has an answer should please reply. Thank you I'm sure they will get in touch with her. |

In this respect, what are the likely documents needed to present or package that will suit or tangibly qualify me for this. Plz help This is not a visa packaging thread.... As you can see, this is a thread for people with U.S Visa, planning to travel or have traveled already and willing to share the experience at the POE with us. Thank you |

OmoBendel24: I too have assumed from research that using this tool may likely be of help. I however noticed that a check I conducted on my expired previous visas show that some are still showing ISSUED while others virtually have no trace on the tool.
As such, I would ask of you, and other persons in the house, have we seen anybody whose visa was revoked and a check with this tool showed REVOKED, CANCELLED or something of that nature? Will really appreciate a first hand finding on this so we can agree and settle that this tool is actually VITAL to knowing the true STATUS of one's visa. Regards all! The Visit visa thread can help with that. |

How did they know she gave birth there and overstayed? Did the doctor call the consulate? The doctor must have been amebo. They are even asking to see receipt. This is truly amazing. Americans make it their business to know everything, hidden or revealed. I bow to their society with respect.
Can you imagine if Nigeria was like this? God come and save your children from this hell hole.
So, get me to the Church.... Get me to the Church on time...

Chuchunana: I personally don't think they would revoke for that reason but one sure way of confirming the validity of your visa is to enquire from the embassy. When was your last trip?
Are they still revoking visas...its been a while I read or heard of visa revocation...All the best Exactly unless someone attached with your visa has migrated to U.S, you get my drift? |

overlord77: Good morning peeps. DW, toddler and I just got into the USA through Chicago ORD. Flight was with LH from ABV
INTERVIEW EXCERPTS: CBP Officer: Good morning, passports please Me : Good morning, hands over our passports. 2 green and 1 blue. CBP officer: Why are you here? Me: Childbirth and vacation. CBP officer : How long are you here for? Me : 17 days but DW and toddler will be here for 4months. I will be back in November to get em though. CBP officer: Have you got any cash and food to declare? Me : yes. CBP officer: Do you have your doctor's correspondence? Me: Yes please, hands them over. CBP officer: Stamps me in for 6 months, toddler is one of em, no stamp. Then directs us to secondary inspection.
Those ones kept us waiting for close to 30mins before calling DW into CBP office.
They asked her if she had all expenses planned out and not hoping to access any govt aid. Then advised her to keep all her payments receipts. Agric guys didnt check our bags cos I already stated we had dried snails, egusi, pap etc. We missed our connecting flight but that's fine, we got another.
thanks to God, it was a smooth sail, hence, ORD nightmare myth broken. Yes oooo broken at last, if you have nothing to hide you can land in any International airport in U.S OF A and I wish you and your lovely family best of luck. |

I planned visiting again soon and I dont want to waste money for ticket for nothing. If I can just know my Visa status before buying ticket.... For you to be this worried are you sure it's not more than that? |

qhunlay: I was at the US Embassy today and my visa was approved.
I want to give back to this forum that being very honest and not coming across as being desperate is key
There were lots of people at the embassy today, I was shocked at the number of people I saw there and many people got denied for obvious reasons. Many are so desperate that you could see it written all over them. I was like why are these people behaving like this?
I thank God Almighty for the success of my visa interview and I want to wish every potential visa applicants the best of luck! Nice one... |

segunjames82: Hello everyone, I need an advice on an F1 visa issue and will really appreciate if I can get a way forward out of this. I know this house is full of gurus and highly blessed. Kindly help a sister in a jam. My story goes thus: Sometimes in 2016, my pregnant sister and her husband with their son applied for a US tourist visa and were granted. During the interview, the consular asked whether my sister will visit the doctor and she replied negative. My sister spent 5 months in the US and returned with the child. Their visa expired and the husband is the busy type and has no time for the renewal. Fast forward to this year, the husband was granted admission for a graduate study in the USA and was even offered a little scholarship by the school. The husband applied for F1 visa and was refused. During the interview, the consular stated that the husband travelled with his wife without their child to the USA two years ago and gave birth there after having misinformed the then consular that they will not visit the doctor. She asked where the wife is and the husband answered that she is at home with her business. She also asked how much was paid and the husband answered. The consular also asked for the receipt but the husband answered that when the wife is coming to renew her visa, she will bring it along. My sister's husband doesn't want to miss this scholarship so he wants to apply again before the school resumes this month. What can he do to be granted the visa? Should he apply with his family again for F1 and F2 visa? Any suggestions from the gurus and VO's in the house?will really cherish one right now. Thanks. They abused the first visa and you expect the U.S Embassy to renew their visa. I don't think they will renew the visa unless the wife come clean and present the receipt at the embassy. |

Babyvet: Yes it is , I had it easier because I moved here in my teenage years , I got accustomed to everything fairly quickly and was on par with people born in the country . One of the best classes I took in my senior year of high school was financial class . It taught me about finiancing in America. My teacher gave us a project whereby we would have to research the starting income of our aspiring fields and then make a budget of the basics( house, food and transportation) based take home. We also had to pick where we wanted to live so that everything could be done according to the cost of living in that particular area . I will call that ''Life Lesson'' |

Babyvet: Debt free is good , but you also need it show good credit history . Yes paying cash for everything is good but that not how the American system is built . In my area where an average single family home start at $400,000 in a decent neighborhood. Sure you can get it cheaper but you won’t be living in the best area. Also how does he expect someone like you living in New York to buy a house cash. Even you move to Texas , where house is cheaper , where you can get something for $100-$200k how are you going to save that up especially if your paying rent somewhere and other bills. It’s either earning a very high income with no - low debt or living at home parents with no bills with decent income and saving rigorously but how many people have that option.? Looking at everything... I just realized that our disorganized lifestyle in Africa is a bit better in terms of how you spend your money... although the standard of living in U.S or Western World is a lot better than living in Africa , but for adult moving to U.S getting use to credit score, buying house on credit etc will take time getting use to. |
