I have been investing in money market, treasury bills and mid term notes. But recently only in mid term notes and money market. Mid term notes by investment One used to be so juicy particularly in those days when the interest rate was as high as 24%. It has drastically fallen now like others and far below inflation rate just like TB and Money Market Fund. I have signed up for Iman and Balanced funds by Stanbic IBTC just few days ago for trial. I'll have to watch it for a year and more. I know these are more long term, sufficient part of these funds is invested in stock, which is generally likely to rally into the new year ahead due to present economic realities - political outlook, etc (IMHO). What I have committed is trial amount as I am not certain of anything here as of yet. But our funds on MM is actually eroding away due to poor returns.

I want to know what are the opinions of experts in the house.

I stick a fraction of my fund to MMF, and use this like a very high interest saving account, for money I do not wish for use for at least 5-10years.

The other goes to buying indexes, Etfs and stocks. I do not believe in actively managed mutual funds like balance funds, imaan funds even though I had these accounts for a very short time.

Hi everyone, why is it that there is no discussion at all around other mutual funds like Balanced Funds, Fixed Income Funds, etc, in this forum?

Funds like Stanbic IBTC Balanced Fund, Iman Fund, which are also relatively less volatile, and some had yielded above 50% profit this year are never discussed here but only Money Market fund with abysmal return is getting so much attention. Is there any reason people are not interested in this category of funds?

Please let's hear from experts in this forum so many of us can learn.

Which are you invested in? Can you please share your experience as well?
Thanks

My RBT and HLTH received the thorough beaten of their life. HLTH got beaten to -17% but recovering gradually. For RBT any attempt to recover received stiff resistance!

I was celebrating too early. I collect today again. We try on Monday.

My stocks are heavy weight. Tesla, Meta, Google, etc . So I believe these are temporary

Sure bro that was why I was telling the other newbie who wants mentoring to go and check his risk appetite if he doesn't have taste for risk taking then the journey of wealth making via stocks is not for him. A guy chatted me up on RBT that hey is dropping ooo I told him if he wants to sell he can sell. I was the one who told all my friends to buy it and have said they can sell so I can have my rest. Since 2006 till date playing local have seen the good the bad and the ugly so nothing new. Journey to financial freedom via stock market is not for the faint hearted!

Exactly. The fact that you always tell people to do their due diligence is gold. Every man should take responsibility for his own financial decisions at the end of the day.

To Him be glory, majesty, power and authority, through all ages, now and forever more. He is the only wise God our saviour.

The Kingdom of God is as promised by God in Exodus 19 vs 6 to the seed of Jacob. That Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will be in Heaven does not mean they are of the same Kingdom of God that God promised only to the seeds of Jacob... the Nation of Priests. undecided
Israel has been promised a land, but much more than that God intends for them to ultimately inherit a Kingdom. We owe our Christianity to them, as we are only ingrafted branches. My prayer is all Israel shall be saved and may their enemies bow before their feet.

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise Gal 3

Ingrafted Branches
Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. 12 But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!

I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry 14 in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them. 15 For if their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? 16 If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches.

If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 18 do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” 20 Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.

Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!

1. Try to stay on point abeg! Inheriting the Kingdom of God is different from entering into the Kingdom of God.

▢ Entering into the Kingdom of God happens here on earth when you become born again — John 3 v 1 - 21
▢ Inheriting the Kingdom of God happens after the judgment when one is either rewarded with Heaven or damned to Hell - Matthew 25 vs 31 - 46

For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

2. I suggest you try to stay within topic please. We are on the issue of the first salvation and access into the Kingdom of God which Jesus Christ Himself said is granted to all the sinners whom He came to call. Are you insinuating that Jesus Christ lied about that? undecided

Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

14 “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. 15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you[a] this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.

Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

That, I am afraid is according to the script handed to you by your pastors and mogs, and not by Jesus Christ. You better go back to learn from Jesus Christ and unlearn those lies fed you by your pastors and mogs if you want to be born again. undecided

2. Again, go and read through John 3 vs 1 - 21 as many times as you need to in other to see that no reference is made to sin— not to be confused with condemnation of sin aka Death— in all of that conversation that Jesus Christ had with Nicodemus on what it means to be born-again.

And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire. Matthew 18: 8

1 John 3: 8-10
8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. 9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.

The kingdom that God talks about is a kingdom that will have no sinner in it. The evidence that we are in Christ is turning from our old way of life and living a life that pleases God, as the Holy spirit gives us power to. Anyone telling Christians that sin no longer matters is the spirit of the antichrist. That spirit and anyone who continues in sin will eventually be cast into the fire of hell.

May Christ dwell in us richly and snatch those wavering in faith from the fire.

Love, peace and Hope

The steps to complete salvation is repenting of our sin, confessing Jesus as Lord and saviour, turning away from our old way of life, being baptized in water and baptism in the holy spirit, then going on witnessing for Christ by the way we lead our everyday life.

Anyone who turns away from his sin and confesses Christ is already saved, but he must go on with the remaining steps, and must go on living a life worthy of the faith. Any Christian that goes on sinning willfully has not known the father at all and does not belong to the faith.

I was telling a friend if I make 2k net profit after their charges am still super ok, to me is a win win in the long run considering the present state of our currency. Il

We make do with what we have for now. Better platforms will come. Some guys started this foreign stock business 4-5 years ago, but I was playing local. Its all good though

People can blame every other person for their problem but themselves because it provides emotional and psychologic boost to absolve ourselves of faults, but if people are to have real success they must look out for the log of wood stuck in their eyes.

Senator Kalu is spot on this time. All the best to Nigeria and the Igbo race.

The fees are super high compared to what obtains in other countries. Maybe soon a platform will come to bail people out.
You pay less than 0.3 percent per year on platform fee on vanguard, and dodl, but these Naija fintech charge you that same amount per transaction. I almost considered opening a competition, but my crude survey showed many Nigerians do not even care about fees and prices. It's like the more they pay the more they feel rich. So might be bad business.

GLOBAL STOCK IS GOOD
For the local APPs we just have to bear with them. Most of us have been dealing with the APPs for 2 years plus and we know that their business is challenging (this is the reason why technically some of them after some time may go out of business, but our money is still safe as our stocks are domiciled with a main broker, for all the Nigerian APP including some foreign ones too, drivewealth is the main broker).

What we need to care about is just to develop our trading skill and this will come with longevity in the market. So number one thing is develop our trading skill by having a good trading indicator /indicator which we should master very well, example may be ADX/MACD combination.

Let us take our mind off what I call non-essentials like:
- platform not having stop or sell order facility (e.g SPROUTIFI), around 2021 or is it 2020 when we started this global trading thing, 8 was using limit order and stop loss, but I still made big losses. Today I use market orders and use my indicators (mostly MA, plus overbought levels to tell me when to get our

- commission as long as is reasonable (maximum 1.5% flat) is okay. If we read some history of stock/coonidity trading, commission use to be far higher than this 1% we are having today, it was like 3% until the likes of Charles SChWAB started their brokerages). In Nigeria looking at the cost of doing business, the brokerages need commission to survive, don't be suprised one of the local APPs may go out of business very soon (if they cannot attract new clients, there are/is a brokerage in this forum which many of us have stopped using, we are just wating for them to announce that they are closing and drivewealth will transfer whatever stock we have with them to another broker, simple but highly probable).

So basic thing is learn to have a trading skill (it will take some time, you will lose some money, but if you start gradually with reasonable capital (will not mention any amount, but NGN8,000 should be absolute minimum, ignore those who say you can start with less, or if you start with a lower amount know that you are just practicing or trying to lran the robes it is allowed, for this about NGN8000 should be okay with the likes of Chaka where you can trade with $0 50 and still pay a flat commission of 1% without the penalty of a minimum rate)

-have 2 trading accounts one local, one foreign (if possible) or 2 local. This is to ensure that you can trade on a day that one of them have issues, just like it happened to chaka on 18 and 18th July 2023)

- Platforms that have stop loss is good (Chaka, Trove have, I have used the 2 brokers). This is needed in case you decise to protect your profits or if you're in a risky position and you fear platform may be off for a day or too (this will be unusual, but in Nigeria anything can happen)

- Finally put some money in a good stock like NVDA/TSLA for now ($10$ should be okay), and in 5 years see what you will have, you will know if you should be in Global stock. For me, thank God I starred with Nigeria stocks (but I have decide that Global stocks are better as I can have my investments Diversified over Countries like: NVDA(US), PBR((Brazil), YINN (CHINA), CVI (Canada), SBSW (South Africa) etc. So problem is one country (Nigeria is in inflation/governance problem at the moment) will not weigh me down, I can have my money working for me in thest climate)

Let us strive for longevity and stay focused in this Global stock, there is BIG MONEY HERE.

Always inspiring. I'm glad I keyed into the international stock market. I feel kind of embarrassed that I knew nothing about the international market till last year. But it's better to start than do nothing.

All will be well bro.

Medically type anxiety self help on Google and follow through with the program freely available on platforms like YouTube.

On your own take a mental track of the thoughts you have when you are around these people. Write those thoughts down. Write the exact opposite in a separate place, and start affirming the opposite, even if it's not your reality at the moment. Your words influence your thoughts and then influence your outlook about life. If you are a Christian then add Christian affirmation.

Breathing techniques is very helpful, you can research diaphragmatic breathing, and do these just before facing stressful situations or instances that trigger these.

The most powerful way I know for Christians is to feed on the word of God daily, even multiple times a day, that it becomes as essential as eating and cooking to you, you do not go a day without looking it. The bible will make you wise, bold, humble, respectable and strong. It's shapes your character and conversation.

All the best my brother.
