LTGEN: The recent interview by the Nigerian Naval Chief of Staff was interesting among the things being acquired is an unmanned vehicle from South Africa.
This is correct. NN is getting 6 drones from Epsilon Engineering.
@Flanker .The vast majority of Algerian military hardware is Russian. Given the current Ukrainian War and the ensuing sanctions, this is definitely going to cause supply chain disruptions from Russia and that also added to the fact that Russian defence industries would now primarily be more focused with replenishing the vast Russian Army and Airforce combat losses.
kabe1: Nigerian army Spartan Infantry Fighting Vehicle, introduced to Nigerian army service in 1976.
Thats an FV-107 Scimitar. Has a high velocity 30 mm L21 RARDEN cannon instead of a 76 mm cannon on the Scorpion. This was previously not in NA inventory and most likely a new purchase. This gives NA their first IFV platform since the BTR-4E. This is ideal for the kind of was NA is waging.
kabe1: Unfortunately you did not back any of your claims with any sources, I have shared SIPRI sources with you.
Where a vehicle serves is very, very important in determining the durability and effectiveness of that vehicle.
You simply cannot deploy a vehicle you don't trust to the front lines.
I have attached my source for the K142, SIPRI.
The Nigerian army actually had 5 units in service, we have seen pictures of 3 units destroyed in combat operations. It's say to assume that they might have all been destroyed in combat or withdrawn from service.
Dozens of more units and MEDEVAC variants were delivered earlier this year. Dunno why they haven't been deployed yet.
Zorya: See! A prime example of the typical f00ls i mentioned earlier, who are impervious to sound logic and reasoning.
Quite typical if you ask me. They lack a single logical talking point to counter any of the points made, hence they resort to cheap insults.
People need to understand thats its totally ok to be Pro- Russian or Pro- Ukrainian or neither, but that shouldn't rob you of your metal faculties and make you a retard that spreads any bit of fake news to validate their bias. Simple fact checking will save one from a lot of embarrassment.
Also, for those unaware of what simple evidence of TB-2 wreckage looks like, the Russians claimed to have shot down a TB-2 in Donbass on the 26th of April. This was corroborated by OTG sources who say they've heard a loud explosion in the general area. The following day, the Russian side released many pictures of the wreckage such as this........
davefurn: Yh, true; UCAVS that will do alot of job at the northeast; some people are wasting it for PR, like 50!.... That will solve Nigerian insecurity issues in the north by a huge amount even if it's just surveillance;
There is literally no way Ukraine would ever deploy such a number of UCAV's and for a single mission no less due the simple fact it doesn't even have such a number. Losing 50 frikkin UCAV's will be accompanied by a large slew of pictures and footage of AD interceptions. Not only have we not seen a single picture, but people are quoting an obscure Telegram page as their source without even damn link ("wallahi trust me bro". None of the usually more reliable sources are talking about this considering how much of a big deal it supposedly is. Just Russian state sponsored news and hearsay.
I can't believe that people are still this gullible after reading a few lines of text, with no evidence to back it up, considering the vast amounts of disinformation already being flinged from both sides of this war. I absolutely stand to be corrected if I see even slight bits of evidence surfacing. Lastly, a certain user here is really starting to lose credibility by spreading really bad hot takes and epic and highly unrealistic rumors.
kabe1: Aren't Western mainstream media sources known for pushing left wing propaganda too?
Absolutely. They're both sides of the same coin. Id prefer to see verifiable pictures or footage, similar to what Oryx is doing on Twitter.
Going by Russian statements, the military has downed over 250% of UKR's TB-2's. I mean, we've seen preexisting TB-2 wreckage recycled and relocated for another set of pictures.
On the other side, we've seen the Ghost of Kiev that supposedly shot down 40 VKS planes (lol) and the last stand of the soldiers of Snake Island which were found out to be hale and hearthy
Yeah, sure. Russia Today (RT), the Kremlin's main state sponsored news outlet is known for its absolutely balance and truthful reporting and has no motive of ever churning out fake news in favor of Russian troops
kabe1: Striking individual assets when they continue losing swaths of territory, especially when we consider Russia hasn't launched it's anticipated offensive in the east of Ukraine.
The Aircrafts we are seeing are recently delivered there's evidence online to support it.
The area where the TB2 has been really effective is in carrying out ISR.
Turkish partners continue to churn out "Bayraktars" like hot cakes and send them at an accelerated pace directly from the assembly line to Ukraine to be used against the Russian army.
On March 21, 2022, this particular device was only conducting test flights over a plant in Turkey, and on May 7, 2022, it was used to strike Russian equipment on Serpent Island
No one was saying Ukraine was going to win this war because of a few Turkish drones. Even with the steep casualties, the Russian war machine is still advancing, albeit at a much slower pace.
With that said however, discounting the sheer effectiveness of the TB-2 so far against Russian forces would be a baseless argument. The TB-2 has more than proven itself, even unexpectedly against Russia by a wide margin.
Everyone was expecting to see them all destroyed on the ground, in the opening hours of the war and consequent Russian air superiority and crippling electronic warfare, but yet here we are. A few units have for sure been shot down over the past couple of weeks, but definitely not at the scale we thought we'd see.
So far, I've seen TB-2's striking Russian tanks, APC's, IFV's, frikkin' NAVAL assets, air defences and helicopters. 2 months into the war and Russia is still struggling to ground the TB-2 fleet with ineffective AD and EW. Someone was talking here two days ago at how TB-2's were useless against Russia. Lol
Looks like another armored vehicle recovered from ISWAP in MNJF's renewed push into ISWAP strongholds in the Lake T'Chad. This time, from the extict species of the REVA MRAP. Probably captured years ago.
