What can you do to make sure your Upwork profile is accepted?


Apart from your skill set, there are other issues that could get your profile rejected. Take a look at how you can make sure your profile doesn’t end up in an unapproved bin.

1. Complete your profile
When registering on Upwork, increase your chances of getting accepted by completing your profile. Complete your profile by adding a profile pic, a headline, profile overview, employment history, education, and any other experiences.

2. Keep improving your profile and try again
If your profile isn’t approved the first time, don’t panic. You can submit it again after making some changes to your skills.

Contact Upwork Help and Support if you believe that your profile is complete - I am not sure if they approve profiles after they have been rejected but I believe they will at least give you the reason for your rejection and possibly some tips on how to improve it and then you can resubmit it.

1. Do your due diligence when applying for remote work. I receive an average of 2 fraudulent emails per week from unintelligent fraudsters. The email is my dedicated application email. They probably got it from past applications I submitted or othe related means.

2. Any opportunity that involves paying money before employment is mostly likely fake no matter how polished the process looks.

3. Don't embark on unnecessary take-home (coding assignment). What you'll realise is that some freelancers in India are delivering your coding interview (assignment) to their clients. They never wanted to employ you in the first place. They have a freelance contract they can't do or don't have time to do (either the full task or part of the contract). They just simply open a job advert and give it applicants to complete. After submission, you either never receive any feedback or they inform you that your application was unsuccessful. You need experience and wisdom to filter through this.

4. Remote job requires alot of discipline. As I'm typing now, I have a heap load of tasks to complete for the two companies I work with but I'm not motivated to start even though it's Monday.

Whatever you do, never give up.

NYSC does not have business with statement of result or certificate. What I wrote in my previous post was about certificate, what you posted was about statement of result. Hence I said you should read properly next time. I also explained that the person in question had NYSC, the only issue was the result which he got a letter as a back up for. Also let me sound this with the kind of questions I'm getting here: I hope you guys know that a statement of result has expiry date? I'm not bitter my guy, weather hot!

What's the business of NYSC certificate and statement of result? Is NYSC certificate issued by the school? The person had NYSC certificate but didn't have BSC certificate. Please read well next time. Don't just crop out some part of my statement and assume it as whole.
