Few days before Sallah, I did a delivery (diffuser) from Alpha beach road to the last estate on Chevron drive, I asked sender who is paying, she said the receiver.
Got to destination, asked receiver to pay before I hand over the package. Guy said “shey you they whine me ni”... I told him to sort himself out with the sender because I’m not going to drop the package unless I get my money.

The babe later did transferred, meanwhile the guy was already shouting, saying all sorts of words. I remained in my car with doors locked while refreshing my bank app, when I confirmed payment..rolled down the glass and gave him his property before I waka.
Na so... No emotions attached... Pay me for my service make I waka

Lol. I try to avoid picking stuffs to deliver for riders as much as possible. It comes with issues quite often. Some would want the recipient of the item to pay for the trip, recipient may start contesting it, some will say the fare is too high that you branched somewhere else, some foolish ones will not even come to the car to pick it expecting you to bring it to their houses, I can't even touch a riders item let alone taking it to a house, so many confusion.

I rejected three delivery requests this week already. They won't tell you it's delivery and explain properly until you get to pick up, I will just cancel and leave. I no want that kind wahala.

I can only accept to deliver packages on rare occasions depending on the situation, item and rider's manner of approach with detailed explanation. That is, with abeg because I'm not a delivery man. Also, it must be a card trip and I won't touch the package, you drop it in the car, the recipient will come and pick it from the car.
On d flip I prefer d delivery, will do my surface due diligence and confirm wat and wat... Who is to pay and wat.

I make sureit is well spelt out, and I drive at my ease, no run, slow comments.

But wat is good for A might be bad for B.

Some riders Sha.

Was @ omole phase 2. By dt GT bank.

Request entered. Destination Ago palace way.

Me: good afternoon Ma'am, you requested for a ride.

Rider: wait for me by GT bank.

After d usual wait tym, she came around n we Stat trip.

Rider: Do you hv #4, 000 wt you.

Me: No I don't.

Rider: surprised, you don't hv ke.

Me: yes, o sad face front continued my driving.

Rider: OK. I want you to transfer ₦4,000 to me, when we get there, the person will pay the money together.

Me: confused huh, wait.. I thought I shd be the one doing the collection t, I will drive you n I will still transfer to your account again, I don't undastand. Abi Bolt has become PAGA ni

Background : rider wants to scam guy/Baba of additional ₦4,000 naira being added to the fares. Claiming she was coming from Ajah n not omole.

Me: I'm sorry I can't do a transfer, in my mind " what kind of effontery is dis.?

Rider : you ppeople think someone will run wt ur money, even if he doesn't pay, won't I return it. I kept quiet.

As w approached Berger underbridge to connect to d express. She said, maybe you have to end the trip, let me find another driver that will do it.

Me: OK, let me find a good place to park n end it.

Rider:You know what, don't worry, let's continue.

Me: no probs , in my mind " you think you can manipulate me by losing a good trip" I know another trip will come,

I saw another dimension of entitlement ooo.

Why must you use me to scam your man/boyfriend. n why must I hv to transfer to you. Like, when did bolt become mobile money operator.

Rider gave attitude throughout the trip. I no even send her or her 1star.

Ride ended safely.

Slide enter surulere, from there got trip to magodo.
You re doing well....

What will bring back earnings is the lifting of the 10pm- 4am curfew.

As long as the status quo on curfew exists, earnings won't improve. Church opening or not.
Seconded!!!! This allows free entry time and free exit time.

E.g U can decide to start work by 10pm and close 4am

Again U can decide to work 6am and close 4pm unlike now everybody must close 10pm irrespective of ur starting time

Muwan! Applied to drive for you via uber fleet match? Like how? When? And wherehuh

Oga abeg if you don't have some thing to say just shutthefuckup!

My first signing on ehailing both Uber and Bolt was August/October last year and it was with my personal car. I first drove with bolt for like 2-3week b4 I got my Uber account activated in October and since I sold my personal car I'd only had 2 Owners partners, a lady I meet on NL but not on this forum and we only partnered for just 17days.

After I dropped her car due to a lot of faults for reasons I can't explain now I got my present partner her on this forum. A fantastic Boss and our relationship has been great ever since.

I don't nees to make boast of my good work ethics, experience, professionalism and knowledge not just in driving but also in customer and partner relations. For this reason UBER recommended me to Moove Africa and these guys have been calling, sending both mails and text messages with great incentives and offer just for me to sign up with them.

Tou would want to ask what's it about felicity0001 that Moove Africa is trying every thing possible to get him. It's nothing other than integrity, honesty, boldness, et el.

So if truly in your subconscious Uber at some time referred me to you and you truly did the turn turn turner you talked about then I must say you missed a good and fantastic hardworking guy who would have helped you build your dream. But off course I'm aure there was nothing of such.

I mention my partner to you here but a few peraons that have been previllege to meet me on this forum knows who he/she is and they can all would tell you the real person behind the moniker felicity0001. Don't be mistaken, me and my boss fall out a lot oh, sometimes we have arguments, misunderstanding and some sorts but we always find ways around it and respect each other. It may interest you to know that for almost a year since I meet him/her it's just once I've meet him.

So Mr get your facts right next time b4 you come up here to state some claims.

That person you talked about is probably not me.
Well detailed.... Nice Expository Sir

That's why I made sure I collected something back from bolt before retiring their app. They still send me messages till today to go and pay 4950. Bolt if you're reading this, go and collect it from the girl that ran away with my 5k when I first started driving, you find it difficult to return the commission you deduct from money driver did not collect and you'll be bragging about blocking the rider account. One day I will on my app again and see if I will get a long cash trip lol

I find it so disgusting and dissapointing that till now, most of you drivers are very dull and stuppid.

In real life, most of you should be in the village pecking woods and not in Lagos. Can you imagine? 4k just like that?

I am not saying I am the smartest or the wisest but men... common... I don't know why I hate stuppid and vulnerable people with passion. I don't give them any chance at all. I hate weak people so much because if you are weak, you can't survive. Not to talk of when someone is trying so hard to bring you up to speed with what is happening in the city.

Sorry to be this blunt but If any of you were to be my drivers and tell me these stories... The kain slap I will woze you won't be here.

Like... How do you allow yourselves to be scammed and you come to report on Nairaland? Is Nairaland the state CID?

Or is it that you are confident that once anybody cheats you, you are going to paste the number and the money magically appears? Do you buy credit for anybody?

Why put yourselves in situations where you have to come online to beg people to make call for you?

After repeated warnings for years and some drivere are still cheated, anybody that wastes his time or credit to call those scammers does not have anything to do with his money or credit.
Sometimes I wonder if some peeps re naturally dull. Chaiii 4k just like dat... Be4 U even finish d transfer I am already inside d app refreshing and refreshing, and I don't leave until I see it or I just believe from my instinct and anything dats comes is solely my luck or mistake.

Dere was a night I took one babe from Chevron drive to Ikoyi, d lady just got out of d car and said send ur act details to my phone I will credit U..(around 10pm oo), but based on instinct. . The rating system uses a FIFO (First In First Out) method, it means when you start driving newly, your rating will remain at 5.00 (default rating) until you're rated 40 times, from then the next rating will push out the first rating and your overall rating will be recalculated.
Bros I will not say U re lying ooo but maybe dats was d info U too were fed with from d Developer or from d Board, but I can tell U dat d info of first 40 trips is wrong.

Wen I started on Taxify, dat tym I was still very naive on Taxify app, so on a faithful Wednesday evening I was at home and I decided to do some evening /night runs, went straight to Luth(Idi araba), grin grin a request came in, my naive self I did not ask of Riders destination. The next convo Happened

Driver: sorry which side re we going

Rider: my mom is d one going, just start the trip

Driver: (started trip) saw Ipaye (after checking Google map I saw dat place is after alakija), I told my rider I can't go that dey shud find anoda ride respectfully.

Ended trip there and zoomed off

B4 getting home my Ratings dropped to 4.41 straight( d rider rated me 1star straight), I just weak and blamed myself for coming out, slept straight up and learned my lesson. ( Next Tym if U had started d trip just end it and click on trip did not happen, no commission loss, no fear of bad Ratings)

So bottom line is dat the app is ready to take ur Ratings down at any instant but for d upward movement self is still first come first serve.( Is easier to go down but very hard to climb up)

Now my Ratings is on 4.9... mind U I Neva for once begged for Ratings from Riders but I make sure riders don't take 5 star from me either.. if U re very very good 4 star, normal is 3 star... Rest 2 and 1 star.

Last last U must be wise and streetwise!!!

Hello all,

Please, I just want to know how possible it is to access Yaba from Ikoyi given the 3MB partial lockdown.

Is it possible to take the Yaba diversion in the morning when coming from Ikoyi (or VI) or is the bridge closed at this time? Also, can one connect the bridge from Yaba via Abeokuta street (off Murtala Muhammed way) in the evening or night en route Ikoyi?

I would very much appreciate any information on this.

Many thanks.
In d Morning Take Carter bridge to Iddo and Connect Yaba

Or take Eko bridge and Connect Yaba

In d evening same Iddo to Carter Bridge den link to Ikoyi

You re wrong bro. Kindly watch the rating as they give you stars maybe you will understand what I'm saying. After completing trips and your rate doesn't change, it means the rider didn't rate you. He or she may do so later. But watch it when you end a trip and rwmind the rider to rate you and he or she does so immediately. You will see the difference. Check next time.

But if you insist it is not possible, I rest my case.
Bros the only way to knowing who rated you is thru the web not app, dere you see Summary of trips vs number of ratings but you U can only guess who rated you if you refreshed as soon as d possible but like I said it's a guess, becos 80% don't rate instantly.

Guys see Wetin Uber knack me this morning ọ. I have never had reason to cheat them o.

Below is my response to them.

Dear Uber,

Please note that I have never done any of the things listed above. Since I got activated on Uber, I have been more concerned about delivering excellent service to my riders.

You can get in touch with all my recent riders please to clarify this.

I believe this is an error from your system. Kindly look into it speedily. I'm not a cheat and will never be one for whatever reason.

I'm only concerned about your number 2 and 3 reasons. I know on some occasions riders might ask to be taken to an address different from where they indicated on the app. I ve had reason to pick riders too from a different place indicated for pick up. But this I know Uber had sent them codes to be assured I pick up the right rider.

I look forward to hearing from you please.

Warm regards,

Good day pilots, pls I stay in iju side of Lagos, where cn I go to, to enable me get request. V on my bolt app since 6:00am n D request is nt cumin in.yesterday I tolled from my house in iju to fagba, to ogba tantalize, to airtel in d same ogba, no request came in, moved from there to mega chicken, no request still n moved around getting to Anthony.on getting to Anthony my battery went off n my phone was very hot.so scared tat it mite blow up. Looking for where to charge my phone n wen my phone came up then it was almost getting to 2pm,waited in front of a mall, still no request came in, then decided to go home, on my way home, a request came in location mushin, I didn't bother picking cos my body just dey pepper me for D fuel wey I burn yesterday. though my choice destination was surulere. So wen I got home, was nt really hapi how my day went without any kobo in my hand, so my wife just console me, pamper me n yesterday na my first day out after activate with bolt. Na so I take waka yesterday oooh. Pls help!!!!
Well somethins U need to learn dat some areas is mere luck to get a destination trip.

Secondly once U see Dat for an Hour no request (atleast around OGba to Anthony that U moved,) restart your phone.

Again, ur phone was hot and battery drainedhuh Guess U need a good car charger( Original Verizon or New age) goes for like 2k- 3.5K depending on d shop and area.

Lastly do not be discouraged, U just need to know d.movement.

Next Tym If U leave IJu, leave ur app on and drive towards OGBa, select trip as dey come and take d one going towards Ikeja, Berger, Surulere, VI, Lekki.

Lastly BOLT Algorithm is somehow very good wit destination, wen U set Surulere, any trip going to d island will not come to U... To be on d safer side set Lekki phase 2 or 1 so dat worst case scenario might be a Surulere.

Cheers on ur next move!!!

So, I’ve been on Bolt for about 4 weeks now, but Uber only recently activated me. So yesterday was my 2nd full day using both simultaneously. Kindly permit me share my initial observations. Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

1 Uber riders are a class ahead of Bolt riders in terms of refinement, and they less likely to give you issues. Uber costs are generally like N200 more than Bolt, so every Tom, Dick and Harry patronizes Bolt, while only those well enough financially stick with Uber.

2 Uber trips are overwhelmingly card trips. Because of same reason in 1, thus giving you income assurance. While on Bolt the opposite occurs with cash trips, and you have to contend with change wahala and fake transfer risks.

3 When driving at night and considering 10pm curfew and security risks, Uber has the advantage in that their riders are very unlikely to be people of shady characters, thus giving you more peace of mind. While the advantage of Bolt is that you can see riders’ destination when requests come in, so you are better able to predict your movement by declining trips which take you far away from your comfort zone.

4 Bolt commission per trip is 20%, while Uber is 25%. But when I did the maths, to compare my first day earnings (Total Net earnings/Total Kilometers covered) I found that I was making N69.63 for every kilometer on Bolt, and N51.61 for every kilometer on Uber. But for yesterday’s work I made N59.29 for every kilometer on Bolt, while I got N 60.00 for every kilometer on Uber. This takes no cognizance of Total time spent however. So, the jury is still out on this.

5 As regards payment for wasted effort. On Uber you are entitled to cancellation fee, if you wait over 8 minutes after arriving pickup point without rider showing up. While on Bolt you get nothing when rider cancels after endless waiting upon arrival.

6 In terms of data, statistics and functionality, the Uber app is by far superior to the Bolt app. Even in terms of operational standards, Uber places more value on quality, and demands more effort from the point of registration all the way to performance standards as a driver.

7 Previously using Bolt alone in this partial lockdown pandemic, I sometimes had dry periods of up to an hour between orders. While using both Uber and Bolt simultaneously yesterday, my wait time for orders never exceeded 15 minutes. Thus, using both apps together is a no brainer if you want to maximize your productivity.
Well I wish to correct so many things but I will just say in the next 2 months you will correct yourself... NB Uber app sucks data Dan Bolt app, On Uber is not 8 mins wait b4 cancellation fee is actually 5 mins

For ur num 7 is very correct dats d advantage of 2 apps

For ur num 4, U drove more in traffic yesterday reason for higher Uber rate.

D remaining I don tire joor
