Gentlelife50: Newbies once you are in an unfamiliar terrain tell your rider you are new, forget the number of trips displayed it's only few that have time to check how many trips you have done. People that will ask your name so they will tell the gate of their estate or will be asking the colour of your car and the model plus colour of the car when all the info needed is there for them to see, so na how many trips u have done they will have time to check? I have said it here before if I found myself on the island and I am familiar with the route I will simply tell rider I work only on the menland if it's on the menland I will simply tell the rider I work only on the highland they will gladly direct you. No shame ooo, before u go enter one chance. Well, I do check my driver's info well, either Wen I am sited or waiting for him/her. I just love to read it and knw d type of driver dats is coming |

alongetayo: Dear Copilots I need your sincere advice.
I lost my contract bank job 2 and half years ago, though I was earning less than 80k.
6 months later I was able to gather funds, personal savings, Loans from family and friends (Non interest) and I got a Matrix 04, I have since paid back all these loans.
I have been driving on uber/bolt for 2 years and its wonderful. I net above 100k in a month when I work fully, but the fatigue and stress has been taking a toll on my health since last year( I started looing weight and now I'm down some other ailments, but getting better) I started active driving 2 years ago, may be im not the strong type tho.
Recently I got a job offer of a little above 100k(net) outside lagos(Ilesa, i am from the area also) which means I have to relocate. It comes with an accommodation.
My car is in perfect condition but I don't have the will to continue this ehailing job. Pls is it a good advice to take up the offer or I just continue my ehailing job, may be just weekend hustle?
Note: The job is just a managerial job and not too much stress in it. My friend carry all ur properties and family and go for dat Job.. 100K in Ilesa is more Dan 250k as salary in Lagos, that's wia I grew up. And now that d offer even comes with accomodation, U will soon buy land from dat salary and U can even be saving 60k monthly without stress. |

What could be the cause of that, any ideas? No base Fare for the return trip |

deedee44: Everything you use in the car that is powered by the car consumes fuel in the end, it may be so little that you won't notice but it doesn't mean it doesn't cost extra fuel. From your headlamps to your wiper down to rolling up and down the windows. Even your car stereo or that extra baggage in the booth. The electrical parts draw power from the alternator which in turn draws power from the engine. I got tired of d argument, because of the obvious truth. Weldone for dis answer |

Blackbishop: Boss it doesn't just a fan controlling unit. So if you increase you standing fan from lowest to highest does it consume more electricity YES!!! I have tried this several times with my inverter consumption % |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by sharpk007(m): 10:54pm On Feb 28, 2021 |
deedee44: It actually consumes more fuel with AC on compared to if AC is off (and windows are not rolled down). Most people come to the bolded conclusion because once AC is off they will have to wind down, and the drag on the vehicle replaces the pressure that AC would have put on the engine so fuel consumption remains almost the same Gbam Another Elementary physics solution |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by sharpk007(m): 8:57pm On Feb 28, 2021 |
Slickleo: Good, reduce AC fan speed d compressor work load will reduce, increase fan speed d compressor work load will increase. And AC compressor is extra load for d engine Gbam!!!! |

Gentlelife50: I gave you something to do, turn on your ignition don't start car and switch on the fan and see if it won't work Will d air be cold? And secondly you will notice as you increase the fan speed ur compressor pick up time will also increase E.g on 1 speed fan ur compressor speed time might be 5 times in a minute but on 3 speed fan it will increase to like 8 times per min |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by sharpk007(m): 7:32pm On Feb 28, 2021 |
Gentlelife50: I have told you, it's the fan under the evaporator that increases. Okay do this to be sure, turn on your ignation but don't start the car then turn on the fan. Likely the fan will work even without the engine on but the AC that works with compressor will need the engine to be on for it to work. Very simple and basic Elementary physics, the extra energy for the fan to increase it's speed is from where?? The higher the rate of combustion the increased in fuel pumped into the injector. I always laugh when you say with AC ur fuel does not consume more fuel... But if your engine is good, You might not notice it because the compressor picks at intervals |

Tuesday night called n text too, then he replied and said he will look into and revert. By Thursday no reply nothing. I reported to bolt and was given 850 naira as compensation then blocked his account. Fast forward to today Alert enter Rider has been calling and texting me to confirm alert. For where I no pick I no reply too. I will wait till Monday or 1week to unblock his account too. I’m writing dis epistle to show dt sometimes we should give riders time before we start calling them out here or fighting. kanuisagoat: Some people get what they deserve.
Got a trip on Saturday. The pick up distance was 15 minutes on the map and by my estimate the trip will end at around 3k so I decided to go for it. The best part of it was that, its a stone throw to my house.
Called the rider and asked if he wasn't in a hurry because it will take me about 15 minutes to arrive and he said no problem so I proceeded.
Just as I was arriving, this guy cancelled. The thing pain me enter bone.
Anyway, fast forward to today, this same guy called me and said "were you the bolt driver that carried my mum last week Saturday? " Of course, I carried someone else's mum that same Saturday so I said yes.
He said, the trip ended N2800 and you told my mum it was N8200. Me ke? Where did I pick your mum from and where was she going? By the time he answered, I knew who he was. Told him I didnt even get to go on that trip because he cancelled it just as I arrived. Na so I cut call.
Whoever that bolt driver is, I hope his as.s gets permanently blocked off the platform even though I kind of feel the guy got what he deserved. If I had gone on that trip, her mums N5400 would have been intact Karma wanted to chill and his house address was shown....lols |

What does an elephant has to do with a goat?
Stop all these attitude of people can't do better without you, there is nobody is indispensable. Same way you can do without me is same way i can do without you. So why feeling like a God. Didn't you see my DoB on my drivers license? (football age), wasn't I existing all those years before our paths crossed? Did I needed you to grow in both body and mind before then? How then do you think one Stu pid challenge will make me better or serve as a motivation? Challenge or not I'm who I am and nothing will ever change that.
That guy of yours you're making boost of saving 1.2m to get a car, did he save the money renting your car? because to the best of my knowledge only one guy was upfront b4 me and you retrieved your car after he feel sick and was taking time to bounce back to full fitness. So how was he able to save such an amount within a short period renting your car is a mystery you should be interested to unraveled.
"He doesn't complain, he pays on time, he do this he do that" oga who cares? Small pikin talk.
See let me tell you America no b 9ja ooh, you should even be grateful to your God that a few Nigeria like myself with good conscience still exist else if not... That you relocated to the USA doesn't mean you should forget your heritage or culture. We here in Nigeria are generous and lovely people, same way Nigeria system won't work in the US is same way yhe America syatem won't work here.
Or you think you're the only one watching me? I only showed you 5% of my generosity and honesty, I would take a bullet for a good man. Yes! How where you able to sleep calling a man out very early in the morning to drive you out on a 6am-8pm journey on empty stomach where as you did eat something, do you have a conscience at all and you dear brag about it. Do you know how much i would have made on that day if I was to drive a client on a full day? Or dis you pay me? Yet I still had to call my wife to do a transfer to me to fuel our way back home.
You just open your mouth and spill out sh*t all the time. if person decide to born 12 disciples of Jesus Christ e conscern you? Abi have I ever called you one day to seek help from you? Or beg you for food? What then makes you feel that I should be loyal to you or something. Pride! You'd better watch it because the next thing will be downard fall.

kanuisagoat: He has a point Felicity. Yes, ehailing will put food on the table, you will be able to cater for you immediate needs and provide for you family but there are people who want more than this from life.
People who drive the E350s, AMGs and the Lx470s don't have two heads. Yes, some might be making the money illegitimately but many others are also making legit money. You say you have paid your 3 bedroom flat in Abule Egba but many others have also bought duplexes in Lekki.
In this same country, there are people who have collected upfront of 4m naira from their employers this January alone. That is the kind of money some people want to to have and the life they aspire to live and you'll agree with me ehailing is never going to give you that.
Let me give you this homework. Look at the screenshot someone posted. He drove 197mins to gross 5200. How many minutes will he drive to buy a 2010-2012 E350 that sells at 5m naira God bless you oo, can you rest for 1 month and spend ur savings from Ehailiing if U re renting a car.... AngryIgboDon: Please if you are a driver and reading... Listen to me...
Stop wasting your future and destiny driving as an ehailing driver. This was not God's design for your life. Go and learn a trade.
Mechanic Fashion Designing Building Construction Plumbing Electrician Chef PVC installation Car pimping Interior Decoration Bakery
Lagos has over 25 million people and more are coming in daily. Only 20 contracts from these 25 million people is enough to change your life forever.
Become a pro in whatever you choose to do and then ask God for favour and grace. You will see how you will become a millionaire over night.
The above listed people in Lagos who are pro in what they do make far enough money than what ehailing drivers can make in 100 years.
You may think this is a tough call but remember that people like Gazzuzz and Radautoworks were once novices in the mechanic world. They may not even know how to loose a tyre many years back. Fastforward to years later... They are controlling millions.
Felicity take note. You were born a great man. Discover your destiny fast and leave this racket before you become wasted. Same applies to other great people with divine potentials here.
God bless you all. You are actually right, I did Ehailiing for two years plus, made some money but interms of career growth it was almost zero, I stopped last year February, learnt many skills ranging from Programming, to data analysis to Mechanic and now is not that I have arrived but I can see growth and even my health and body is growing well too... For two years plus that I did Ehailiing (mind U I fed well, Asin well well) my weight is always between 55-57 but after like 6 months that I left Ehailiing my weight is close to 70 now, I looked more fresher even though money no too dey. NB: Driving is stressful in Lagos and as a Career you can't add Uber,Taxify driver as experience unless you wanna be a professional driver. |
