disguy1:She did not get any? How did you/she know the petition was approved? |
disguy1:The NOA 2 has the date the approval is valid for. You should get your fiance to email you a copy. |
disguy1:Theoretically, you can schedule as soon as you have your case number but you don't want to schedule too early to avoid a situation whereby you have a date but the consulate is not ready to attend to you. There's been instances where applicants have been turned back from interviews because the embassy said they were not asked to schedule. The READY actually shows that the embassy has your case..... The truth is....anything can cause a delay between transit to ready so you want to be certain the consulate has your case before scheduling the interview. You can fill your form and wait.....once you see ready....pay and schedule your interview date. Also, it's better to do your medicals close to you interview date. The validity of your medicals can also impact the validity of the visa if granted. If for some reason there is some delay or the AP after the interview is over an extended period, when the visa is finally issued, the validity will be limited to the validity of the medical. There's really no advantage or benefit having the medical months before the interview. |
Attraction:Go forward. |
Treasureprince1:Lol. Please wait for your NOA2 approval and wait for your case to show ready on the CEAC website. |
brownesugar:Note: This is not specifically for you as the situation is in the past. It's for those that will apply in the future. I don't understand the excuse that it was difficult getting a date so people book interview dates before filling the DS160. While waiting for the interview dates to come up, fill the damn DS160 and submit. After that create your profile on traveldocs if you don't have one, pay the visa fees and then wait for interview dates to come up. I don't understand waiting for weeks to get interview dates before filling the visa forms. What was the waiting time used for? That time meant to be used to fill/submit the form and ask questions on any part if the form that is not clear. |
anjiee:That's the reason why the ideal thing is to complete and submit the DS160 form before booking an appointment date. If she had filled a DS160 form in the past, it would have automatically been linked to that and she would just need to call them to change....but I guess this is her first DS160 form. |
anjiee:No it won't. Once you get into the US....all you need to do is get to the US before the visa expires, get married and file A0S within 90 days of US entry. |
brownesugar:Complete and submit your DS160....what's stoping g you. When you are done submitting, you will get the application confirmation. If the number us different from the appointment confirmation number, call the customer service of travel docs and tell them the application number does not agree with the appointment number, they will ask for the number and correct it for you then they will send you another appointment confirmation by email. |
Glorioussugar:Lol. Na lie. You have been paranoid since....before now. On a serious note, you need to relax.....chill.....calm down. |
Drenimarcus:So that's 2 people getting the same response. Maybe they have decided that this will be their default response now. |
LegitBachelor:https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/723534-validity-of-k1-approved-i-129f-petition/ That's the same response they sent to the fellow I said was denied. |
Drenimarcus:Exactly. Also, I noticed they are stricter with guys....more than ladies. |
Saw this on Visajourney so i thought i should share since it's a recurring issue here: Post by K1 beneficiary: Hello everyone, I recently booked my interview appointment at the US embassy in Lagos Nigeria on 16th October hoping to get an earlier date before my approved I-129f becomes invalid which is going to be December 5th, unfortunately, the earliest date I got happened to be December 18th which means my approved case would have become invalid by then. i wrote the embassy requesting for an expedite date or a validity extension and here is their reply... We advise you should attend your interview appointment as scheduled. During your interview, you should present documents/evidence to the Consular officer to show that you qualify and justify why the petition should be extended. In order to qualify for a K-1 visa, the beneficiary/applicant must convince the Consular officer that he or she has a bona fide spousal relationship with the petitioner. The decision to extend the validity of the petition will be at the discretion of the interviewing officer. However, if you are unprepared for this interview it is not likely the petition will be extended. So guys.....if your interview is outside your validity.....make sure you are prepared for the interview. Go with every or any document that will prove your case. Think outside the box. Go with primary and secondary evidence. You don't want them asking for a document and you having to tell them it is at home. Success to everyone. |
Drenimarcus:And go fasting. |
Drenimarcus:Lol. 3 actually. me Lagos driver....driving slow. I was just respecting myself. |
Drenimarcus:Hmmm. Okay o. Enjoy your cold. On a lighter note, i banged my road drivers test today. They said i was driving slow..... |
Sukey:If it's QLife Lagos, there was no need to book before hand. The requirement is to get there early before a certain time (I think 10am or 11am, can't remember)....with the required documents. However, i think it's best to call (or visit) to confirm the documents you need for the medical screening. |
LegitBachelor:Yea. No one knows the full details but she booked the interview well before the expiry date. In fact, the interview date was just 9 days after the expiry date. Expiry date Oct 20. Interview Date Oct 29. Maybe I will send their email and the embassy's response to you. There may be other issues but on the surface that's the information |
Glorioussugar:Well, I don't know how you did yours but I completed and submitted my application before I booked my interview. When you submit your application, you will get a confirmation and the confirmation comes with a number. You will see the number clearly on your application confirmation. It is this same number on your application confirmation that will also show on your interview confirmation after you have booked your interview date. |
Glorioussugar:Application confirmation or Appointment confirmation? Meanwhile, did you book the interview before completing and submitting the application form? |
Glorioussugar:Good. |
Glorioussugar:Okay......but how will you get interview dates if you don't submit your completed form and pay the interview fees? Anyway, you should complete and submit. Pay your interview fees and book your interview. You don't want to start worrying about interview dates again. |
Glorioussugar:Are you just filling your interview form? Thought you are just waiting to book an interview date. |
Glorioussugar:Relax. My post was not to scare but to inform.....so relax. I actually did not want to make this post because of this kind of reaction. And yes.......petitions have been extended and a lot of people have theirs extended automatically without asking....and you will not know know if the validity has been extended until you get to the interview or you receive your visa. Mine was extended by 6 months without asking (although i had my interview before the expiry date....but i was asked to bring additional documents). The CO then warned me that my petition would soon expire and she would not renew if i waste time in submitting the required documents. |
So someone in a group i belong to said her fiance was denied the K1 visa and the reason given was that the validity of the NOA2 approval had passed. She had sent an email to the consulate asking for an extension and the consulate had responded saying the extension is at the discretion of the interviewing CO. They tried to show the email and the response to the CO but the CO did not look at it and went on to deny on the basis of an expired petition. Now, usually, the practice is that once you book your interview date before the approval expires, even if the date you got is outside the validity date, the validity is automatically extended by 6 months which is at the discretion of the CO....so it was surprising that the CO refused to extend. Hopefully that was an unusual situation and possibly there were other issues involved that the CO did not want to waste time on...hence the excuse for that refusal. My advice for new K1 visa applicants: Once your case is approved and is forwarded to the NVC (you have your NVC number) and then it is sent to the embassy. As soon as it shows READY on the CEAC website please SCHEDULE your appointment. Don't wait for any packet 3 or packet whatever. Of course, email the embassy and ask for your packet but schedule your interview while you wait. You can pick a date far off but still within the validity period to give the consulate time to get ready for you but don't wait for their email before you schedule. With the way interview dates are hard to come by, if you wait, probability of available dates being outside the validity period will be high. This is to avoid stories that touch. Now for those having to pick dates outside the validity period, you don't have any choice but to pick the next available earliest date so pick your date ASAP......but send an email to the embassy asking for an extension explaining the difficulty in getting a date. Make sure you have the email and any response printed and taken with you to the interview just in case. By God's grace the petition will be automatically extended by six months which is the usual practice. |
adeney93:Lol.......just know that if you submit a counterfeit divorce document to the US Consulate, they will find out. |
sandraigho:I am not referring to the issue of having to do an X-ray. I am simply saying being pregnant has NO impact on your K1 application.....just like others stated earlier. |
sandraigho:See below. You have the answer to the question. LegitBachelor: 123JohnF: |
DankbaresHerz:I suggest you should start a thread about your RFE on visa journey. You will likely have people who's gotten similar RFEs as yours.....and you'll get plenty of suggestions there. |
LegitBachelor:Yes....it is surprising that they want evidence of financial support before the interview......especially that one can use a joint sponsor in case the petitioner can't meet the poverty guidelines. I remember on the K1 application form, the petitioner was required to put details of current and past work history......are they using that to estimate if the petitioner falls below the poverty line? I think they are focusing more on this public charge stuff. |
Glorioussugar:Just keep checking twice daily. Morning and then evening. When they open dates, you'll see the available dates. |
, I must follow this instruction. Thanks baba
