Please what happens if I reschedule?

I think you should focus on getting a date first. Why bother about rescheduling when you don't even have a date yet.

What is important is to get a date as soon as you can.

My medicals expire in December. That means I’ll have to do another medicals in December? I don’t even know what to think anymore. I don’t know why my case is like this . I’m having severe headache right now.

Why would you have your medicals without having an interview date? The ideal thing is to get your interview date first and then book your medicals and police report a few weeks to your interview date.

You don't have control over the interview dates, the consulate makes dates available whenever they think it's convenient. Best is to pick the earliest date available.....because if you don't the available dates might get further from your current date.

Good morning wonderful people, I'm so happy to know this thread exists and kudos to everyone, the selfless and great help here is so massive, God bless y'all! I also salute Legitbachelor, sharpman, drenimarcus, select500, djfrancis and everyone i can't remember to mention. Since yesterday morning I've been on this thread even while at work, i read every single thread and I'm so happy with the way things are. I think I'm now the last born of the house because my fiancee just filed for me five days ago, despite my tight schedules I'll surely try my best to be active on this thread.
I've known my fiance for months now, we met two months ago in Tanzania (where we spent one week) and then flew down to naija ( where we spent thirteen days) . We included everything required in the filing package, hopefully we'll get our NOA1 soon . I just wish everything will happen so fast but i don't have any option than to wait lol! Please as the official last born of the thread, y'all should pamper me well ooo for the next six months till i join the love of my life in the states! I'm just two years older than she is and we're in our 20s. Thank you so much once again, God will see us through.

Lol. This dude is funny.

Have been denied B1B2 twice both on conferences .The first was Feb 2017 and the second was June 2018.My fiancee is a Nigerian and we've been dating for the past 8 years .She came to Nigeria Dec 2015 and spent 2 weeks and the second time was October 2018 where she spent 19days.Shes single and am single too and all through my previous application haven't claimed married. before where so many do this for visa reason She started with the K1 processing 2018 November (ending) and my interview comes up nextweek. But we made another trip to Dubai March to April this year for her birthday where we spent 10 days there .Just worried about  the time frame between my denial (b1b2) and the filling.

Your B1/B2 denial has zero impact on your K1 if you were truthful without contradictions in your previous applications.

Hope you have evidence that you have been dating for 8 years............because the CO can ask for it especially if you mentioned it.

Thanks. I’m very aware I can’t work, not yet searching. Schooling planned for next session, I gym, Netflix but never video game. The only volunteering option I’ve seen is firefighting, I’m not sure I can do that. I live in a predominantly white city, I barely see my neighbors.
But like you said, I need to calm down. It is what it is

If you are a Christian,.....Go to church. Join a unit or group and volunteer in church. Attend group meetings.

If there are professional groups that relate to your profession in that city join them and attend some of their events

Network with those white people in your city........they can become helpful

Fine o. I am currently doing an online course to improve my excel and financial modelling skills. Its a huge requirement for my kind of job here.

For peeps looking for a particular kind of job, the advice is to look at different adverts and identify the recurring requirement / requirements. Those requirements should be what we should strive to obtain before the work authorization becomes available. That way...we are ready for work by the time we are authorized to work.

Pls house I did my interview on 6th September 2019, after the interview questions the CO gave me two white papers. One was for immigrants rights and the other one states for further administrative process where the CO cancelled the official days on the form from 90 to 30days after writing my case number on form while stating if don’t hear from the embassy between my date of interview and the 30days mark. I should contact them via email. He had already told me that the visa is for me to travel and get married to my fiancé and that if am married it automatically disqualify me to use. And next thing he gave me the two papers. Am kind of confused as to reasons why he stalled my approval. Only thing on my mind was I suspect he was a bit uncertain about the new policy on sponsors, cos one of the interview question was how many siblings do I have? And told him. My question is 1. Does my siblings have any negative effects on the sponsor? 2. Is there a reason he reduced the further processing period from 90 to 30 days? Pls help to clear the air for me. Have been worried since then. Someone should pls help clarify things. Thank you.

I believe the CO wants to be sure you are not currently married hence the admin processing to give them time to investigate.

Did the CO return your passport?

If yes, you would be required to drop your passport when the CO is satisfied.

If No, you will be asked to pick it up when the CO is satisfied.

Send an email if you don't hear from them after the 30 days as stated by the CO.

It has nothing to do with your siblings.

Hi, I am so sorry about the denial, I am always sad when genuine applicants are denied. First, how long did she stay and how many weeks. Did she front load? Did she visit again? How did she migrate to the US. The CO gave you a chance when he asked for the second divorce certificate, he probably made his decision from the file in front of him and he never bothered about the evidence with you. They will send your case back to uscis and leave it there to expire. CR1 takes 1-2 years and they deny it too but you can fight that but K1 can’t be fight for. Best advice is for her to visit you again and you guys should figure out your red flags and file for CR1. Like I always say, make your research, the embassy guys are always looking for ways to deny. It’s not a walk in the park anymore. Best of luck bro. Please visit visajourney.com. That site is heaven for immigration.

Yes. They are looking for reasons to deny. Any complicated story or discrepancy is used as an excuse.

I remember when I told the CO my son was not with me at the moment and that was why he did not come to the interview, she asked since when he's stopped living with me. When I told her the date, she cross checked with the information (about address of child if not living wiith beneficiary) I filled on the K1 petition. Fortunately, I had stated the truth in that form and the form was filled almost a year before the interview.

@sharpman

Thanks bro, actually i submitted all the documents required and up to date, we sent pictures, chat logs, video calls etc. I guess the problem started from how we met and blah blah, using his psychology and how he was trained, maybe he thought my story wasn't sound enough but in reality everything is real. You know every case differs and circumstances can decide how your relationship will pick up, most of all these COs don't understand this though I know they are doing what they were trained for and coupled with the fact Nigeria is a high fraud risk country when it comes to immigration , i totally understand with them ..... Remember, he didn't check the documents I came with. How Kong does CR1 take? Do they deny people on CR1 too? The while thing is son frustrating .

What evidence did you submit for her visit to Nigeria?

OK guys, i have been following up this thread for some time before I went for my interview yesterday being 13th Sept.

Actually my K1 visa was refused, but no slip was given to me, i don't know what it means, it is only my passport that was given back to me, the CO said he will write to uscic or fiancee and blah blah , that was all.

INTERVIEW WENT THIS WAY ;

After swearing an oath, CO asked...

Who is petitioned for me?

How did we meet?

Who is the mutual friend to her?

Who is the mutual friend to me?

When was the first time i met with my fiancee?

When did we start communicating?

Issue rose up when i told him how we started dating and communicating, he felt maybe my story was mumbo jumbo but it was real, upon I told him she has visilted Naija and blah blah, he told me my story wasn't making sense to him, he also asked if she was divorced, I told him 2 times , he requested for the certificate which I told him I have only 1 with me here but the other 1 divorce certificate was sent by my fiancee via USCIS, i gave him the one i had with me, the he returned it to me...He also asked the first time she came to US and how did she immigrate which I told him, as the interview was going on he was typing something on the system for long....Eventually, he told me that he isn't convinced if I have a bonafide relationship with my fiancee, that he will be refusing me K1 visa but he will write to either my fiancee or USCiS people, i can't remember which one again. He returned my passport, though he didn't check my proofs (call logs, chats and photographs) and he didn't give me any blue or white paper.

I am confused guys, does it mean my K1 visa was outrightly denied though he said "refused"....

Does it mean my case might go under Administrative processing or should i wait on what message they will send to my petitioner so that we can know our fate.

What is paining me right now, everything about me and my fiancee is genuine and legitimate..no fraud or fake thing, and we have waited for so long, invested a lot of energy, money , time and other resources, we were just waiting to hear the good news from CO but dude was kinda brutal, he denied almost half of K1 applicants that came for interview that day..we were 12 though but 4 people were denied before i left there, though some people were given or approved.

PS: Before you go for your K1 interview, make sure you know every detail about your relationship and your fiance/fiancee.
Be bold and confident, be consistent with what you are telling the CO...prepare your story well, don't allow any loophole or any form of discrepancy.

Pls guys, with your experience or anybody working with US embassy or CO, do i have hope in this matter? If eventually it doesn't work out, what's the time duration for CR1 category? How long does it take? Is there any way I can fastrack it. I am tired of staying along in Naija, I can't wait to join my woman, this is not issue of leaving naija for greener pasture, God has been faithful to me in naija too but there is nothing like staying close with the love of your life, this can be so frustrating.

I hope one or two Nairlanders will learn from my experience. I wish all the guys going for their K1 interview or preparing for it all the best of luck.

God bless you guys.

Sorry about the denial. Like you stated, the CO did not seem to trust your relationship.

I suggest the next best approach is to get married to your fiance and file for a spousal visa while working on getting solid evidence of your relationship.

Meanwhile, what evidence or supporting documents did you submit with your K1 petition? That my give some insight as to the reason for the decision.

One needs to be carefule as those guys are looking for any excuse to delay or deny.

Choice of words! I'm very sorry this happened to this him but I think he should have researched things on the form he wasn't clear about. I can tell you that my fiancee made the same mistake of putting "to provide me with board blah blah blah". Something little less convincing of showing financial commitment towards me, but of course she had no problems supporting me with any and everything. I was unsettled with her write up so I got digging. There's a right way to filing this legal docs. I lifted it. So i think the right word would have been to support him with everyting till citizenship or full time work, as the form says.

LegitBachelor:
Yeah choice of words. Those guys take choice of words seriously. This is because Those documents are legal documents and could be tendered in Court.

The Affidavit of Support document is a very powerful document for the US government as it puts full responsibility of the immigrant on the person bringing him or her in. It removes liability from the government and puts it squarely on that US citizen.

And the funny thing is that he did not have to write anything. I did not even tick anything on item number 38 on page 4.

I simply typed

'N/A (FILING I-129F FOR MY FIANCE TO BEGIN K1 VISA PROCESS FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE).'.

That's why it is good to look at sample forms or ask questions when filling those forms.

Who petition for you

How did you meet

How does her parent feels about your relationship

When did you start communicating

What’s Your mode of communication

Show me some chat histories (I had loads of screenshots from WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.Like I had over 250 copies of A4 papers with each paper containing 9 screenshots.lol She went straight to the middle of the A4 papers. She picked a sheet, started reading and questions were coming in left and right from that single paper) I almost messed up but thank God for his grace and mercy.

What do you do

Tell me about your role

I can see you have B.Eng, what field?

Then she said, I will approve your visa. It will be ready in 2 weeks time and she gave me 2 white papers. She did not check our pictures

Guys,

I think it is important and helpful for us to share our interview questions or transcripts for others to learn irrespective of the outcome. I say thank you to those that have shared theirs in the past and also encourage those that have not to please share. It is always helpful and insightful. Others can learn from mistakes and be better prepared regarding the type of documentation that will be useful.

I had my interview on June 24, 2019 and was asked to submit additional documents which i did the next day (June 25) as i had them at home but did not think they were useful or needed for the interview. They have not gotten back to me yet.....and I submitted what was requested a month ago.

See the interview questions below:

.........

Guys,

Update!!!

So i got an email in this afternoon that says:

'We write to inform you that the review of your case has been completed and the next step is for you to drop off your International passport at the GSS Document Collection Center located at the DHL Service Center at Plot 230, Muri Okunola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos for visa issuance. Once you submit the highlighted, it will be forwarded to the U.S. Consulate office for processing. A copy of our drop off letter is attached for your use.'

I was so excited.

I was on the Island at that time.......if you see the way i drove down to the mainland, picked my passport and ran back to VI so that i would get to the DHL ofice before 4.00pm.

I hope to get my passport back as soon as possible. I have a wedding to plan ASAP.

Thanks guys for all the kind and encouraging words....i was already getting frustrated.

Let Her Go

I just want to write this short post hoping it will change someone's mentality base on the issue i'm about to discuss.

A lady at my place of work lost her husband almost 1yr 6months ago, now, she is about 3months pregnant and wants to get married but the backlash she is receiving eh? Her late husband's people have been frustrating her saying it is too early to get married (i thought marriage is till death do us part?), why are they trying to control her life simply because she was once married to their brother?

I want to believe the family members of this man have moved on with their lives since the death of their son, why then do you want to lock her up in mourning? The surprising part of it is that even women at the office are against her, some who have also lost their husbands are citing instances of how they watied 7years before re-marrying and so on.

I felt bad for her, all she do now is to cry, and mind her business. This is so wrong, free that young lady, she didnt do wrong in marrying your kinsman.

Nonsense. She has her life to live. She should move on and marry whoever she wants to marry.....they can do nothing.

As long as she has the support her new fiance and family.

Meanwhile, did she have kids with her late husband? Not that it is relevant to this decision though.

Exactly.

Stick to basic info like her job, the city she lives in, etc. No need for too much stories....
