I got accommodation for a total of $1,600 per month including feeding and transportation for hospital visits and shopping - it's a Nigerian lady that offers this as a service to preggy's, she is the one my friend used earlier this year.

meine: Uncle Charity, biko don't derail this thread and you should stop asking people where they are going as if they are babies. I share major1p view,You've opened similar threads elsewhere so why start it here? I noticed how you use foul words on members on other threads which shows immaturity those who patronise you can do so at their own risk anyways.
Lmao @ uncle charity! Una no go kill person cheesy

afosahid: @all. I have asked severally for details of obs/gyn in Chicago but no one is this thread has been able to help with that information. I am requesting specifically for OBS/GYN in Chicago because this is where we have relatives and my Wife can stay there while she is in the US.

Invitation letter will also be provided by relatives in Chicago.
However, I have made contacts with doctorespirati.com El Paso TX and Dr Fagbohun in Houston TX and they have both agreed to take my wife on when she gets to the US.
If asked I Intend to declare that purpose of travel is for both tourism and child birth. My wife will birth our Child in the US and also visit relatives.
That brings me to my main question: If we take these details of correspondence & appointment with a doctor in Houston to the Embassy and the Visa is granted and then choose to proceed to Chicago to birth the baby, will this be a problem at the POE in Chicago? Or we should jejely make Houston our POE and then take a local flight to Chicago.

Dear experts kindly share your opinion on this. I am yet to fill out the visa application and i want to be careful not to make any costly mistake.
My wife is currently in her 17th week and time is running out.

Thanks in anticipation of your responses.
The don't care how you arrive the US or where you land! That is not their business at ANY Point of Entry in the US. You can land in Alaska if you wish. All they care about at the POE is that you can afford to pay your medical bills! Nobody is going to turn your wife back because she landed in Chicago not Houston! It's not their business how you route your ticket! You are allowed to route it anyway it pleases you.

So stop all this panicking, your wife is 17 weeks...you guys should go ahead and apply and attend your interview. The invitation letter by your relatives won't matter except na them they fund the childbirth! So remove the focus on visiting relatives, becoz no one expects a pregnant woman to be traveling up and down visiting people. So they would see it as a lie. Just tell them she's to go give birth in Houston, you got a Doctor and worked out the cost. Tell them that you have relatives in Chicago that won't mind coming to be with her in Tx when she has the baby! Then you provide the details of your relatives.
If they ask why didn't you choose Chicago since you have family there, tell them it's preference of Doctor and cost. As you have first hand testimonials of the following Drs you have selected. And it just happens they operate in Texas not Chicago.

God willing, you guys get your visa and decide to use Chicago, nobody will turn you away at the POE for changing your mind. You ar ehuman, you are allowed to change your mind oh lol. Just as long you have done your research for Chicago and have handy a Chicago Ob/Gyn letter and proof of cost to show them.

The VO will know you have done your research well. So relax bros grin

Didn't you see where I wrote God's protection is the ultimate? My point is why travel at 36 weeks when you can travel at 34? Coz of saving penny penny cost? Anyway at the end of the day, to each their own. 39 weeks sef is fine grin

seemorejoy: This is what i got when i Cedars Sinai Medical Center people pls help me o.
Hahaha! Wetin carry you go Cedars Sinai for LA? Even the address says Beverly Boulevard grin You don't know they're very expensive? Most of their surgeons are cosmetics surgeons so they make a lotta money there! Sides LA is expensive as a city on its own lol.

kuzeh: What of those that have no choice but to fly 35/36?
God be with us all! !!
Your health and baby's health comes FIRST!!! Anybody that tells you to push it to 35 or 36 weeks won't be there to make you comfortable during the long flights and layovers! So even if it is work, beg them that you have to leave early!! The ultimate is God's protection! But we have to do our part and keep it to 34 weeks max!

phmom: Shawbabe: Any April 2015 mums heading to MIHS

hi shawbabe, I just sent u a mail. but I was thinking of going towards the end of march at about 35 weeks.
this 1 they want to review the price for MIHS na wa o. do u have someone der or will u pay for accommodation as well?
Yea I saw email saying you are trying to contact me. But it didn't show the message.

My dear personally, I think you traveling at 35 weeks is pushing it. Like Bloggerina said, 34 weeks should be out MAXIMUM! Me I plan to leave in february, Like 30 Weeks so I can have a comfortable flight and rest well. I am still trying to decide between Sugarland, Tx or Phoenix. Reason being that in Texas, I can get around easily and cost of living is cheaper.

I plan to travel with my mum so we will have to rent a place in any of the cities we decide on. I am looking at all these places suggested on here. Crossland (for phoenix) and 1-bed apt in Houston, close to sugarland.

MrsDGN: I forgot to ask please. What are your plans for accommodation? Living with someone or renting? If renting please can I have contacts for decently priced and located short term rentals. Say like 3 months.
I haven't really looked because I still have more than 6 months to go. But it will probably be the ones recommended here.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Shawbabe: 5:19pm On Aug 31, 2014
MrsDGN: Hello ma'am! Congratulations on your baby and visa as well. Would you please help with details on how to pay the hospital bills at MIHS prior to traveling. Considering you were told you could pay in February or March and you are due in April. I'm due December, trtraveling in October. I've spoken with them and gotten financial appointment letter which I intend to travel with, however I prefer to pay the hospital bill in advance. Upon enquiry they kept insisting that I can only make payment after I have gotten into the US and had my financial appointment. Sometimes, I know these things are treated on a case by case basis and also a function of who a person gets to speak with when you call. U would really really appreciate information on how to pay beforehand.
Thank you
I will already be in DC by Feb before heading to Az in March, I think that's why she said that to me. But I'm sure your financial appointment letter is enough for POE. To be honest, there's no need to be scared of these CBP officers! If they ask you anything, look them in the eye and answer them truthfully without fear! That's what I do, I get rights too and if you send me back unlawfully, I will take your name and tell you I am lodging a case against you for abuse of power! grin

U go see the person go change attitude immediately! Lol! So i don't fear them oh. As long as I know my heart is pure and my reason for entering the U.S is genuine! So my dear you will be fine!
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Shawbabe: 2:07am On Aug 30, 2014
Lol I'm not asking for their contact details. I've already spoken to them though and they have told me all that has to be done. They said since I'm an April 2015 mum I can pay closer to the date. Like in February or March of next year. Will leave in February with my mum so we can do baby shopping together, then we head off to Phoenix like mid March to start prenatals there.

I was just asking if they will be any mums on here at MIHS during that period? Just so I know I won't be the only naija head then lol. grin

Please are there any mums with EDD for April 2015 going to MIHS?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Shawbabe: 10:27pm On Aug 16, 2014
Hello everyone,

I have read ALL 93 pages of this thread and want to say thanks to everyone who shared their experience in some sort of way! U guys are outstanding, made my research easy pezy!!

All I want to as is are there any April 2015 mums in the house?? I am 6 weeks gone, and wanted to make sure they'll be Nigerians at either MIHS or El Paso during that period (haven't decided which one I'm choosing. Have to lay out presentation and powerpoint of the two for the hubby first LOL).

I want to travel with my mum first and then I want my husband to join us 1st of April because I refuse to have this child or children (might be twins grin alone! Since I didn't MAKE them alone). Sides it's my first pregnancy and I've always wanted to experience giving birth with my hubs holding my hand for moral support! Anyway I digress, but if any of you ladies are due that period and will be in Phoenix or El Paso, pls just indicate.

Also I hope the accommodations close to these hospitals have Internet access and Tv coz I don't wanna be bored outta my mind! Still want to catch my shows online and skype with the hubby!

Than ks people!
