@Shawbabe: please read Olhars post o! To be forewarned is to be forearmed! The financial counsellor in Gwinnett categorically told me the prices had been reviewd upwards and the new prices she was quoting we're making my head reel! And to think I had already got a Gwinnett Dr and was to see him that day. I quickly called and cancelled and went for a cheaper option of hospital! Biko I no fit wash hospital linens to pay bill. 14k ke ! For normal delivery? When people payed less than 5k all in all just less than a month h!
Lol na wa o. Gwinnett sef

so which hospital did u go with?

If you fly direct, there is the tendency that immigration officers are fully prepared for a plane load of Nigerians, coming from Nigeria. Do the maths.
Lol thats just another myth and story. Even if u fly to Australia b4 heading to the US, the border officer sees ur originating departure which is Nigeria on his screen. So direct or indirect, doesn't really make a difference. Coz u could be 200 passengers on the indirect flight originating from Nigeria too.

Was just wondering,is there a reason people dont like flying Delta or united? Because for me personally, nothing beats direct flight. O ! Its just that on this particular trip i have something to pick up in Duba, thats why i'm flying Emirate
Delta for me all the way. Becoz I get miles.and get to fly free within American, Canada and Mexico. So Delta all the way!

Wow! Thank God u and babies are fine!

Mothers please let's all take it easy oh....let's relax and no do anything that would add stress to the baby. Like my hubby would say, if ufeel stressed, stop and relax. @ hebrewwoman2014, thanks for contacting them. That's the same email they sent me. But from what I understand, it's an estimate and theu bill u based on LENGTH OF STAY.

As mimibe or someone mentioned earlier, stay nothing more than a day. That way total bill stays under 4k! So na just to believe God and pray we all have normal deliveries.

Just emailed Dr. Oduro, will let una know his response. When are u travelling?

I'm first time mum and 6months gone and my tommy is still very small. I'm a little bit concern. Although the doctor said the size is okay but to me the size is just like I'm 4 months gone.

Please first time mum and experience mothers should please share their experience on this...

# I know this is not the right place to post this, I just wanted to know if someone has this same experience#

Your response would be highly appreciated.

Thank You.
Hahaa my dear be happy with what u have oh. As long as baby is good and kicking. Some people are 4 months and look like 9 months, is that what u want? grin

Emory midtown hospital

You can google them and call. I don't have my little memo pad with me where I wrote down costs and details.

Lol! Please don't kill yourself o! An unplanned CS is usually based on emergency either because you or the baby's health is in jeopardy, I doubt that it has anything to do with yoga or working your pelvic muscles.
I had an emergency CS with my first pregnancy because my son's umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck and pushing him out would have strangled him. Not sure it would've mattered how well I prepared my pelvic muscles.
Lmao. If u see the lecture I got today from a friend about working pelvic muscles eh.
Thanks for responding, and Patrica23 thanks too.
In other news, any April mums Atlanta bound? When are yall leaving?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Shawbabe: 7:46pm On Dec 15, 2014
Please quick question for the mothers, someone told me today that I need to be doing yoga to avoid having a CS. Because it works my pelvic muscles? huh

Is this true? Phema did u exercise during pregnancy and did it help during labour?

It's official, from anonymousmum's testimony, BA is a definite no no for me. Make I go pay for my emirates jeje.
Lol when I dey tell una say BA is the worst airline flying to naija, una no wan hear. The days of BA being the best, has long gone. It's like they send their worst planes and hostesses to Nigeria. It's terrible!

@Lalavita and Gurus in the house,

please I am filling DS-160 form for B2, I previously has B1/B2 visa. there is a question- are you applying for the same type of visa? B1/B2, B1 and B2 have been used interchangeably and I don't seem to understand. please is my answer Yes or No.

thanks
Go ahead and renew the exact category u had. The POE officers will stamp B1 or B2 for u when u land. So yes, apply for the same type of visa u previously had.

Letter of consent from hubby, affidavit of change of name, newspaper publication of name change , marriage certificate, copy of hubby's biodata page and your passport. Sorry don't know about Atlanta. Will ask my friend if it's okay to share the contact she gave me. Cheers!

Thanks for your response! Name change due to marriage can only be done in Abuja. Got a contact in Abuja, went there, and for a fee he collected my documents, got approval, called me later for capture and i picked up my passports by noon the following day. There was lots of waiting involved sha. Cheers!
Pls can I have the contact? Or is it personal? Also what documents did u show?
Since I will be in Atlanta, can I also do it at the Nigerian Embassy there?

Good people, please help a sister out if you have answers. I booked my flight a while ago with my maiden name but recently did a name change to my married name so have a new passport with a new number and a different surname. Will there be any trouble flying to the US? Thanks!
U need to contact the airline and also have the old passport with u when u travel.

My question is pls how did you go about changing the name on ur passport? I plan to change mine in June to my married name and I need to know how to do it

I don't think there's a price increase just a more realistic presentation of their quotes @gwinett. I used the agent near the consulate office for the Nigerian passport and the 145usd includes his fees.
How did u go about booking appointment with gwinnett before u arrived there? Or u just showed up and registered?

And I still didn't get ur email

I stayed at milton with family. Got the ssn by mail within 2weeks of delivery(I asked the hospital to apply),US passport was ready by the 2nd working day but I asked them to mail it and I got it within a week. I also got them to mail the Nigerian passport and it arrived within 1 week. So in 2 weeks you should have all your documents. The US passport cost 165usd for expedited at the passport agency and I spent 145usd for the Nigerian one.
Aww thanks so much for your response. I will need to know how u got both passports so quickly. I'm guessing u expedited?
Pls can I have ur email? Because I will need ur knowledge during this process. I thought I would have to be in the US for 2 months after delivery to wait for the documents. But from what u are saying I can be out 3 weeks after delivery.

Hi concerning gwinnett bills. It does usually take that long except you keep calling the customer care line everyday to ask for your bill. Had my baby at Gwinnett in November. I must say I was impressed with my OBGYN's level of care, however I was a little disappointed with the nurses: this is because of their attitude towards epidural in labour. They were not supportive of it despite the doctor's orders and they turned me to a Hebrew woman by force!lol. All in all it was a great experience (this is my 3rd delivery and I had epidural in labour for the other 2). My bills eventually turned out to be 2535usd for mum and 513usd for my baby after the 40% discount. Paediatrician/neonatologist fee was 150usd and obgyn(Dr oduro) was 2150. I had 3drips (2ringer's lactate and 1oxytocin drip) during labour and we were discharged after a 24hour stay at the hospital. I hope this helps someone.
Thanks so much for writing this. Been wondering what their bill is like. 2535 is reasonable. Where did u stay and how long did It take for u to process the baby's documents?

Bmay how did u make a deposit to the Dr? Which Dr? I'm using one of the ObGyn group of physicians for $1800. And what's ur accommodation plan?

But like Mimibe said, I'm considering Northside. Just that their Drs are $2500.
