My mum wld be going for her interview Alone Soon, purpose is to help me and also handle my 2 year old( this wasn't asked while filling the application), bt she applied for B1/B2 visa. She has been to several other countries too. What are the most likely questions thy would ask her. Wat are the documents she should go with. Do I go with her for the interview? Or she only allowed to go alone? Thnk you in advance

Likely questions could be:

1) Does she work?
2) Where?
3) Who is sponsoring her?
4) Where will yall be staying/your medical details?
5) Duration?

I don't think they'll let u go with her to the interview, except she needs u as an interpreter or something like that. I think giving her copies of your Dr and hospital arrangements, accommodation, copy of your visa, bank statements stating you sponsoring, and any other important info about your trip. She should be fine though, they usually don't give elderly people stress.

Stop traveling late becoz u wanna "gangsta" ur way with the whole process. Even Drs cannot tell u when ur child is ready to come, they can only ESTIMATE. So if a baby decides to enter the world at 32 weeks and u are planning on leaving naija at 35 weeks, don't come on here and lament that ur baby has a green passport after all the plans. Or becoz u were tryna save ur job.

I came out of lurk mode to state two things.

1. I made a 7hrs journey by road and the return journey 3days after(family car though) @ 36 weeks gestation with no ill effect to neither me nor the baby.
2.
As @Drafrican rightly stated, the reason we are going to the US is primarily for the blue pali and we should stop with the better healthcare ish. If its for superior healthcare ONLY, the UK, india, uae even south africa are avilable options that would cost only a fraction of the $10-15k conservative budget that is needed for a us childbirth plan .
There are myriads of 1st class hospital with top notch doctors/facilities in this country and the beloved dr fagbohun of oakbend/richmond is even an alumnus of abu zaria.

U can go back because ur post doesn't address anything at all! U could have climbed Zuma rock at 38 weeks with no issues and effects to u but that doesn't mean it's advisable and should be the norm!!

I said in my post U can go to Morocco if u believe u get the best there. U people are reading and NOT understanding! If u like leave Naija at 35 weeks because Mama Nkechi left at 38 weeks and was fine, u and Mama Nkechi are NOT the person! Penny wise, pound foolish!

I made the same mistake the 1st time, I put work over my health and lost the babies, I guess if I had left earlier, the US healthcare system would have been more aggressive in taking care of preemies!
Nne, the only thing you lose is a month or 2 salary, which ur baby is more important than. Try to take off at 30 to 32 weeks, biko.
This time sef, am leaving at 20 weeks! Work can wait, nothing else matters right now!

Not everyone has the luxury of leaving work earlier than others. People have travelled at 35 weeks and nothing happened. With God ALL things are possible. It is only by His grace, not by our own strength

If u are faced with the option of losing that job and having a healthy delivery process in the US, I take it u would chose ur job

Traveling at 35 weeks is RISKY! It's not like it's domestic but Int'l for over 8 hours. Mothers biko lets avoid stories that touch! Life and safety over anything oh. Be wise.

Congrats to all new born, new Visas and POE story. Praise be to God.

U have to first find an Obgyn attached to Northside hospital Atl. There are loads of Obgyn to choose from, so google Atlanta Women's Group. It will list all the offices then u can call them. 80% of them are 5 mins from Northside Atl, as in behind the hospital. As per fees, depending on which Obgyn u choose, they'll give u their fees. It's always good to "shop around" before settling. But I always advise you go with an experienced Dr. As in somebody who finished Med school in the 1980s! In my opinion they are usually the best with over 4000 baby delivries under their belt!

Oh and most of the offices will ask you to fax your records before they can give you a price. Unfortunately u have to find a way to send ur records across to them.
As per hotel and accommodation, u CANNOT function in atlanta without a car of your own. Nothing is close to anything, u can google Extended Stay close to Northside or in the same zip code 30342. But u still can't walk it. U still need a car.

Yaaay! I'm 3 mins from Lithonia. It's 28 mins to the hospital, I'm using Northside too. There's not much info to give just that she arrives and calls Northside to register and pay. When is she coming/due?

To all pregnant mums and Dads buying Delta Ticket. You need to be informed that there are only 2 bassinets on your return leg. You can only use bassinet if you are sitted on any of these 4 sits namely 17A,17B and 17F,17G. All these sits are located in the premium economy section which you can buy with an extra $120.

So I advise you to book that sit for the return leg as soon as you buy your ticket. Even at that your chances of getting bassinet is 1/2 i.e. 50% because if all the people who booked the 4 sits are nursing mothers it will be a case of First come,first served at the boarding gate. You can book before your baby arrives. Cheers

Technically, and sorry to say but Una never marry. Get ur "hubby" to do something LEGAL & RECOGNISED by government bodies to certify una union. Like someone already said, go to court and sign papers and have that certificate. It's also for ur own good as a woman. And also for when the child comes and documentation starts.
