19 yrs? Haba!!! . . . and Bode G. got just 2yrs |
Where dem dey? Una don run go? |
With the current reality of Nigeria Libya would be ma choice. LIBYA all the way |
The yorubas r the problem of under-developement in other states too or what? SLS is one big joke. I think he is eyeing a ticket with the SEners come 2015 presidential race, he is likely going to die a violent death career wise. Idiott. The yoruba dominance in public sector is mainly a result of biafra war that opened key positions up for grabs, while the north refused western education the west embraced it and were available to fill it up since then. SLS should shut up. |
Awolowo has said it all already u guys can argue from now till eternity, the man was the least problem of the ibos. He helped stop the war by blocking food supply the biafran army were hijacking and surviving on, the biafran civilian were already dying b4 awo blocked the food supply. If u ask me awolowo was the true savior of the ibos, he helped put a stop to the long and potentially longer suffering of the ibos by inflicting a relatively shorter one directed at the biafran army. They say in war and in love, everything is fair. Awo had the option of indirectly prolonging the suffering of the ibos by leaving the food supply to go on, but he did not, to me he sacrificed his repuation by blocking the food supply, he could av done the opposite which will equally be fair in a war situation. |
GEJ can't secure our border and run a govt. that will balance accounts. The same border where clothes, rice, wheat(flour), cars, human beings and our oil are being smuggled through daily. The same border that brings far more loss than oil subsidy brings to us. I wonder what these south eastern supporter of subsidy removal will do when GEJ decides to remove rice and flour subsidy also just because there are some pple too special to GEJ behind it. |
So the ibos culd only react to 1953 riot after an attempt to snatch power had turn sour 13 later on. It goes to show ur mental strength as an ibo man, what about the your fellow southerners that ur ibo army killed men? According to ur article easterners and westerner were on the same side in 1953 struggle, after the killing of top western army men why did ibos/Ojukwu/Ironsi not condemn these actions. nwabobo: 9ijaprince: |
Every 5 guys to one babe |
mbatuku2:they got their monies. . . wtf! . . .get ur facts right next time pls. |
Who the FU*CK are you to tell him not to feel emotions over the senseless murder of his kith and kin b'cos of the perceived misdeeds of a few? The 'ibo' nation would not move forward until we admit some bitter truths abi? That's the "bitter truth" according to the spawn of the murderous, conniving, double-dealing, back-stabbing enemy Ndigbo fought (bravely) for 3 good years abi? Abeg gimme a break!!! You and a few others of your kind are always quick to dive in to try and douse the flames of passion and emotion that should rightly be kindled when we try to remember what our forbears went through and the sacrifices they made during the war. What are you afraid of ? Could it be you're trying to silence (unsuccessfully) a little voice in your head telling you that some of your forbears actually participated in one of the worst acts of inhumanity against defenceless civilians, and in the process, may have condemned their lineage to generations of making reparations through BLOOD and misery? Could that be it?You could never understand the "Ojukwu spirit" you speak of b'cos it has it's roots in the hearts of all true Igbo sons and daughters.
all ur rants still circles round the claim of millions of ibo suffering for the sins of a few, why did ibos not come out to condemn the senseless killings of innocent army men. Why didn't ironsi and Ojukwu act on the issue approriately. Maybe u guys here r 2 blind to see. A war is not like a table tennis game where u serve and i serve if u survive we go on till one of us misses. After killing those northerners and southerners u dont expect them to pick up few easterners and kill in return. Rather than asolve the problem at hand Ojukwu tried to break away to achive his life long dream. |
D sound of victory. One achieved his goal the other did not, what a shame. |
mbatuku2:u can try hard but u wont get too far with these weak points of urs. The banks are suppose to keep records, but i though in a situation like this where the banks were targeted for bombing cos of the the role of their structure in war situation the costumers shld av their own form of evidence since they r scattered and cannot be destroyed at a go. The selfish nature of these pple that drove them into a war in the 1st place will not let them reason properly. |

GEJ has compromised his govt. by giving out sensitive position out to his cronnier as reward for their role in getting him to power, the pple r always at the recieving end. While the presidential campaign was on he was busy promising his incompetent and power desperate cronnies political appointment, GEJ/PDP never really campaigned, all they did was send false signal by advitising noisy slogan to u and i, those who r more deserving of his sit could easily turn to BH to express their anger. This man shld just resign or something the rigging im that election was just too much. |
mbatuku2:if there were any left why didn't the ibos come out with evidence like AWO requested ? ? ? They culd av kept them as evidence of injustice but . . . . . . Ur point even sounds weaker when we consider the fact that AWO did not make recommendations to the panel that came up with the 20 pounds policy. Like i said earlier ibo will still look for excuses. Too bad |

Dead president ? ? ? What happened to the likes of Tompolo and Gen. Togo who fought for a more just cause? ? ? |
U don't look back while driving forward, anyone who does is an accident waiting to happen. Mr. Nwabobo get over these childish emotions pls, the ibo nation will only truly move forward when it admit some bitter truth about the mistakes in that war (starvation of ibo pple by the biafran millitary) and events that lead to it ( unprovoked killings of northern and western top army officials by ibos). The ojukwu spirit is far from what ur thread here depicts, it is a one-man-for-himself-by-the-blood_of_his_people spirit, nothing more. |
A pple who av been manipulated by their pride and ego for so long. I pity even the more 'gullible' ibos. Chai ! ! !. |
Source needed pls!!! I hope pple who dont know about this things learn, as for the ibos most of them already know these things u av writen but they av been manipulated for too long and that way they will most likely continue to sing their old song of Awolowo betrayal, the man asked some great questions that will puzzle any1 who has been fed lies abt awos food policies. Why were some ibos(civilians) looking so fresh and the others starving? |
If i was in Awos shoe i wld av done same. Reason: the ibo had already killed my kinsmen in the army w/out provocatn & swept the matter under the carpet , that alone had demonstrated their stance against the west (awo & his pple), even if awo was released by ojukwu it is just another strategy for creating a divide among d remaining of Nigeria and weaken them as well as rally support from the west knowing fully well that the so called biafran strength was diminishing fast and spelt outright victory 4 Nigeria. Ojukwu is claiming respect 4 awo cos it all ended the way it did. I call him a smart fella for that one. My verdict: the ibos r not to b trusted even till this day, they betray your trust and when things don't go right for them, they go after their next weak person to blame. Ojukwu can claim what he would have done had the story been diff but we all know the actions he and his pple took. The north is the true and old enemy of the ibos while the ibos r the enemy of the west (as 1966 massacre and the present day accusations has shown), the west in return r no enemy to the ibos but will always have that unwarranted betrayal of 1966 from the ibos in mind, while the ND is mainly but not totally an enemy to itself. |
25 pages and still counting, Nairaland has 'hammered' i swear. Meanwhile my position still remains. |
A coup to give awolowo power and they killed his kinsmen, all just for him sake, ibo will neva admit the wrong they ve done they will rather manipulate u. bashr8: |
. |
dayokanu:will the igbo pple eva b honest enuf to admit this ? |
DeeMain: why did they attempted to wipe out all main tribes in the army in 1966 ![]() I think it has to do with the disc. Of oil, or how do u xplain the inclusion of prominent yorubas in the hit list of the ibos |
Relax101:u percieving me as being daft is all about the state of your mind. Its a relativity thing, u could be a mad fellow behind the keyboard in same place where . . . . . . . . died, if not i dont see how u can talk about the father of someone u hardly know. |
@Bliss4Lyfe u sound so immature there, ur ibo cohorts went on a killing spree targeting yorubas and hausas army officials for no just reason when the igbos already had 73% of top army position. Why not xplane dat one. Relax101:u said northern madness how on earth did it spreed to the western pple(Yorubas) also, there is no excuse any igbo man can use 2 justify the 1966 killing of western and northern top army men. U guys are too proud, if u asked for forgiveness from the westerners and made more friends maybe the story would have been diff. today. |
DeeMain:what do u mean planned and sustained pogrom? Pogrom was a reaction to act of mass slaughter of top ranking army officers from northern Nigeria. Now i dont think that is a planned event by those involved in the pogrom cos they couldn't have predicted what the igbo army men did to their pple. A wiseman once said u dont move a car forward while looking backward, anyone who does is an accident waiting to happen. I will advice pple like u( with only 1 post on nairaland) to stop covering the mistakes of the past from ur kinsmen by all means. |
Ibos sha, always starting war they won't win. when will they learn? |
