Just read, spend less time on Nairaland, read! i dont av 2 go back and read up any history, u shld b the one making full and complete sentences here. I know u av no idea of what i was trying to say b4 u jumped in uninvited. Ojukwu did not leave for cote d'voire, all the history books i av read so far says he fled to cote d'voire, why did the writer of the article had to go into all that details so early is what i was trying to point out in my comment. |

You all are big fooooooools, you probably cannot and will never live up to 1% of your dreams before you join him. Ojukwu struggled for what he believed, to liberate his people and you are hear on nairaland talking about what you don't even know, judging him as if you will go to heaven, shame on to you for talking badly about a man who is dead, if you are given an opportunity to step into his shoes, will you be able to achieve 0.0001% of this man's achievement. Watch your mouth your northern fools, someday your northern idiotic brothers will have themselves to blame. You simply have exposed the kind of you all are.

philips70: Why the disconnection from reality? Very bad students of history. The pogrom and unmitigated arsons still happening in that deluded northern Nigeria till today is a vindication on the Ikemba's struggle. He too faced a lot of betrayals and disappointments from various people with personal and parochial interests. wetin i do you na?enh Bros? If u want to refer to history that made him your hero, why not state what lead to the pogroms and arson u mentioned there. By telling one part of history you could be jeopardising someone elses history u know. I no really get your time 4 now, because your points and argument supporting them r very weak to me. |

Nice move, the govt shld stop using tax payers money to run/subsidize education for a selected few who are have made it a habit to bribe their way into these sch. They end up ruin the sch. and leave everybody to carry the pain. The govt shld rather concentrate on giving scolarship to exceptionally brilliant students only. |

manchy7531: Former biafran leader and leader of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu is dead.
Thisday can confirm that he died late last night. He had been sick for a while and was receiving treatment at a united Kingdom (UK) hospital.More to follow . . .
Ojukwu was born in Zungeru, Northern Nigeria in 1933. His father, Sir Louis Phillipe Odumegwu Ojukwu was a wealthy businessman who made money from the transport industry. Ojukwu was sent to the UK at the age of 13 to study, first at Epsom College and later at Lincoln College, Oxford University where he earned a Masters degree in History.
Upon his return in 1956, he joined the civil service in then Eastern Nigeria. He would later leave the service to join the military, where he was one of the few university graduates.
Ojukwu was appointed Military Governor of Eastern Nigeria by Military Head of State, General Aguiyi Ironsi on January 17, 1966. By May of the same year, Nigeria was facing a serious crisis. A planned pogrom in Northern Nigeria targeting and killing South-easterners presented a problem. He made several assurances to the South-easterners about their safety but the crisis continued. In May 1967, he declared Eastern Nigeria a Sovereign State named Biafra.
In July, 1967, then Head of State Yakubu Gowon declared war on Biafra. A civil war ensued. The war raged on for another 30 months. An attempt at peace during a meeting at Aburi, Ghana did not stop the war. In 1970, Ojukwu handed over power to his deputy Major-General Phillip Effiong and left the country to avoid assassination. He was granted political asylum in Cote D'Ivoire by President Felix Houphöet-Biogny.
The civilian President of Shehu Shagari granted him an official pardon and he returned in 1982 after 13 years in exile. Ojukwu would later go into politics, forming the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA). He was an active member until his death.

Oh God please forgive every1 that has said something silly. i know nairaland people they are never appreciative.
If the money is missing like our foreign reserve, they will still do nothing but curse and nagg and now some1 has decided to channel it as a fund(u borrow and pay) they are still not appreciative.
now i understand y this leaders dont bother doing the right things because we havent learn to stop nagging. i will kneel down and pray and hope
it is done atleast
I want hi-tech digital machine for our films
powerful costumes and foreign theater designs
series film shot in different continents
foriegn and local director working parripassu
infact we are missing so many thing and still hangin third in world, my god with this funding i kow my producers, they will go nuclear
with india behind us.
this is a move in the right direction. how much is US generating from wrestling alone?[/quote]how many pple does nollywood employ? Are they going to use the hi tech machines and co on poor script and make hollywood impact? What happens to piracy problem ravaging the industry? U asked how much is the US generating from wrestling alone? But can the average Nigerian/African family spend N25,000 + per month on entertainment alone?
It is working in USA does not translate to the same for Nigeria and Africa. |

ikechukz: very senseless move, why not invest such money in electricy or are Nigerians going to watch the films with candles or at least try to repair available refineries instead they feel its better to spend it in poor old nollywood.if u ask me i would say there is more to it. OR Give out N750,000 each to 100,000(one hundred thousand) Nigerians each for various SMSEs ideas that will complement the few industries we already have on ground. At least some of those SMSEs can develop into industries too. They will rather give it too one PDP member who has not been rewarded for his role in bringing GEJ to power. |

They have succeeded in dividing and ruling us, they have given us the options of: Poor vs rich South vs North Unemployed vs employed Igbo vs Yoruba (majority zone vs majority zone) Ijaw vs Itsekiri (smaller tribes even, no insult intended to all tribes mentioned). Young vs old Uneducated vs educated Woman vs Man PDP vs ACN,CPC It is hard not fall into two or more traps of division from the above list. that way we can hardly be united against a common enemy without confusing one with the other.
I think it is time we stop thinking and challenge the common enemy that impedes so many aspect of our life/destiny. God did not give us electrical power and appliances for us to admire we are suppose to enjoy them as normal things not craving them as luxury, oil is too common around us for what they are proposing. |

The widely anticipated strike will be our most viable option, if we can prepare for 2 months, everyone should make as many arrangements as possible for the strike and let us see what happens from there on. |
Politics › Re: Will Nigerians Take To The Street If Fuel Subsidy Is Removed? Revolution? by sheyguy: 10:16am On Nov 23, 2011 |
I will surely hit the street to stock the so called fuel cos when the strike of a thing is over and ur lazy azzez are down u will end up buying the same fuel for N200/litre (at least for a start). Parisgoodman: @OP, Nigerians wont take it 2 the streets because: 1) we are not one. 2)too tribal. 3)language barrier. 4)claim 2 be religious(hypocrites) 5)traitors. 6)racism. if anybody says Nigeria is one, that person is a BIG FAT LIAR. Take for example, if you are looking for work outside your home, the first silly question is: where are u from? Your state of origin. we are too tribal, i'm sure you know what i'm saying. hmm, language matters alot to the average Nigerian. If u'r igbo and the next person is not igbo, then he's not your brother. even in among the protestant churches, there is still diversity. Most of them are formed base on a particular chapter or verse from the bible, eg: MFM, WINNERS ETC(NO OFFENCE). So u see that when there's no oneness nothing of co-operation will ever happen. Nigerians are hell of traitors. Who knows if Judas is from here, they know how 2 betray their fellow.(biafra stories can tell u more) racism? We all know. so, OP since we have all this problem there wont be a revolution. The Musa, chinedu and kolas wont agree with each other, Musa wont leave his suya or gate to come to street neither chinedu will leave his spare parts shop nor kola will stop his yahoo, NEVER! U must be kidding, Nobody betray biafra, instead u guys tried to snatch power and when it failed and backfired(Pogrom) u guys tried to run away by acting out the joke of the century in Biafra. Brave up man and take responsibility. you don't move/drive a car forward by looking back anyone trying such like u just did is an accident waiting to happen. can we get back to topic pls |
Education › Re: PDP Gov'Ship Candidate Dosunmu Tackles Fashola Over LASU fees by sheyguy: 12:30am On Nov 23, 2011 |
One thing is obvious here, what most sch pay is simply too small for the minimum standard of uni education we crave for. Hustling does not have to b stealing, there r student in closed campus private unis who hustle legally 4 substantial amount of money, any one in an open campus like lasu who cant take advantage of activity in lagos should blame him/herself. |
Education › Re: PDP Gov'Ship Candidate Dosunmu Tackles Fashola Over LASU fees by sheyguy: 10:02pm On Nov 22, 2011 |
ajasa4link: u're obviously ignorant of such things like scholarships are handled in nigeria,do u? For your info, lasu has a scholarship programme 4 students whose cgpa is 4.0 and above which am a beneficiary of. U know how it works? U have to pay your skul fee, work hard all through d session and wait endlessly till d university have your time to award d scholarship which comprise of a 20,000 and the refund of your 25,000 skul fee. . . . Am yet to get a refund of my 100level skul fee and am now in 300level. . . . So tell me,how do u think a poor brilliant student will survive if the new skul fee is implemented? Will he go a-borrowing to pay his skul fee and now wait for about 2yrs to get a refund? me Ignorant? U must be joking. Why do u guys have aluta boys and the rest for? U think pple u contribute to their own sch fee in private sch r weak or what? Let me tell u it is not a must 4 everybody to attend a uni. Some pple will have to defile their addmission and go out for to hustle 4 sch fees. Thats the basic truth. |
