FamilyRe: After 18 Years In America, A Guy Gifted His Friend 12 Dollars And Hes Not Happy by Shikena(m): 1:13pm On Mar 07, 2024
Our people could be stupid sometimes.

I have a friend that just secretly shared 25k each to 40 of his friends & ex-classmates struggling in Nigeria. This guy get large extended family in Nigeria o.

I heard a few of them were complaining that it was too small.

Is he your elected state governor or politician looting your commonwealth? He made space from some of his own bills, family, home repairs, vacation savings etc to help and you are complaining?

Buy ticket, go hustle and do it your own way mumu cheesy
PoliticsRe: Lagos Indigenes Kick Against Other South-west States Coming To 'hijack' Governor by Shikena(m): 12:57pm On Mar 07, 2024
You first have to make a claim to become a liar grin

I never made a claim about Lagos. You came to Lagos from a wawa clan in bathroom slippers with a nylon bag crossing several states to develop yourself and now you claim you developed Lagos. That's a liar.

We no dey even vex. Now we are begging you to go back home and develop Enugu now that Lagos has developed you.

Shikena! grin

Irony1:
You are a liar Lagos is not your state.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Indigenes Kick Against Other South-west States Coming To 'hijack' Governor by Shikena(m): 12:49pm On Mar 07, 2024
I am in my state - Enugu is several states away from Lagos grin

Irony1:
Oga I never said I was a lagosian, but you definitely are not a Lagosian,go back to your state and be proud of your state. Leave Lagos for the real ibile Eko.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Indigenes Kick Against Other South-west States Coming To 'hijack' Governor by Shikena(m): 12:48pm On Mar 07, 2024
Go Enugu, now you dey foam for mouth dey talk Okitipupa grin grin grin grin

Irony1:
Enugu as a city is far better than Ibadan and Abeokuta.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Indigenes Kick Against Other South-west States Coming To 'hijack' Governor by Shikena(m): 12:44pm On Mar 07, 2024
Focus. I never mentioned Okitipupa, which is still close to Lagos.

I never claim I left Okitipupa to come and develop Lagos.

You mentioned far away Enugu that is obviouly close to your wawa village. Why not just move to Enugu instead of deceiving yourself on top Lagos matter?

You can never be a Lagosian, you are an Igboman from a clan in wawa. Be proud of it.

Irony1:
Shut up go back to Okitipupa and develop it stop fighting for Lagos. Since you don't want to go back, then if dem born you well stop me on the road and say this rubbish to my face, if you will not see God that day.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Indigenes Kick Against Other South-west States Coming To 'hijack' Governor by Shikena(m): 12:31pm On Mar 07, 2024
Excellent. Igbos have no excuse then. Move to Enugu enmass. Leave Yoruba's Lagos alone. Shikena grin

Irony1:
Enugu as a city is far better than Ibadan and Abeokuta.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Indigenes Kick Against Other South-west States Coming To 'hijack' Governor by Shikena(m): 12:27pm On Mar 07, 2024
Simple arithmetic. Go and use your development skill in your village. Shikena.

mikeapollo:
Foolish talk!
Igbos and other Nigerians go where to develop?
Are the Igbos and other Nigerians not in Northern Nigeria and South-south? Why don't you claim that Igbos go to the north and south-south to develop them like you do about Lagos?

There are many businessmen and intellectuals from Yoruba and other tribes (South-South, Middle belt, etc. ) living in other parts of Nigeria, but they do not claim that they go to those places to develop them.

It is only Igbos that claim to be developing Lagos.

It is an insult to the indigenes of a place when visitors, aliens and migrants claim that they come to their place to develop it. If that is the case, stay in your towns and develop them; nobody needs your kind of ''development''.

BusinessRe: “There’s No Rich Man On Earth That Is A Salary Earner” - Pastor Olumide Emmanuel by Shikena(m): 10:09pm On Mar 05, 2024
Yes I understand the debate between prosperity gospel and biblical gospel. I just want Bro Righteousness opinion on this cool

janeedema:
It isn’t a case of misplaced priority. As one who is called to pastor people, he owes them a responsibility to share what it takes to be financially independent.

Man is spirit; he has a soul and lives in a body.

Unless you think it is misplaced priority for a pastor to tell the same members who queue up for prayer for healing how to avoid being sick?

Church members queue up for financial assistance qs giving them money only as a church without advising on how they can thrive knowing it’s God’s desire for them isn’t ideal.

We are called to la holistic lifestyle as Christians— a balanced spirit, soul and body.

If only the spirit is fed and the mind and body left fallow, the teachings on the spirit won’t profit anything.

Yes, I need the info on happenings elsewhere so I can challenge my own local/state government officials to do something meaningful.

Does it mean anytime goverment officials inspect ongoing goverment projects it will make headlines news?
BusinessRe: “There’s No Rich Man On Earth That Is A Salary Earner” - Pastor Olumide Emmanuel by Shikena(m): 6:49pm On Mar 05, 2024
Brother Righteousness, your input is needed here.

As a Christian (follower of Christ), is this pastor supposed to be preaching on being rich on earth (Mark 8: 34-38) or is this a case of misplaced priority and longer throat? grin

Nairaland GeneralRe: Mukina2, Nairaland's First Supermod, Has Resigned by Shikena(m): 7:01pm On Mar 04, 2024
I disagree. I know that your position is the default in most organizations but this is an online discussion platform and the conversation that this transparency generates will help a lot of people get better at leadership, management and interpersonal relationship. Thank you for this Seun and I hope when things are settled Mukina would share her side too with all openness. It's clear that the door is not closed if still needed when the storm clears.

wonlasewonimi:
Seun, I think you need to resign too for going into silly details like this. You could have just said she left after a minor disagreement.

SportsRe: I Still Get Attacked By People - Yakubu Aiyegbeni Reveals by Shikena(m): 4:05pm On Mar 03, 2024
You are right. He was actually in shock at that moment but should have been smarter.

If he had dropped flat on the ground with some dramatic reaction the psychological effect on Nigerians would been totally different.

The area boys on my street would be like "Na juju confam. Even Yakubu himself couldn't believe it and wanted to commit suicide after the match".

ecolime:
Emotional intelligence ought to have made him fake a sober look.

If he can't fake it, he should have faced or lied flat on the ground. That would have cleared the mess.

If you can't use DHL or other shipping companies you are on your own. I carry nothing for nobody.

Patronize our shipping businesses and grow the local economy. Stop being cheap by inconveniencing another person and exposing them to danger. They will think they are being nice until they land in jail by carrying load for the wrong person.

NYSC is another 'platform' that opened peoples' eyes to developments that fly under the radar across Nigeria. Serving in the South East, and even going back years later, you wonder why people just love creating a different impression from glaring reality. Travails of the people should never be hidden just to present a front of some imaginary millionaires' enclaves. To what end for real?

placeofallure:
Good for you. I love it when the government is committed to its people. A few years back when I traveled to the East as an NGO research fellow, I was concerned as a South Western what travails the people, especially those in the hinterlands, are made to go through.

I don't know who Tania is but I wish her luck all the way.

Nigerians with their quick judgment never know their real enemies. Electricity workers, generator importers and greedy investors ganged up against this man and nailed something on him knowing fully well that you will always find good material for quick irrational judgment on anybody. They found a conflict of interest.

When Kemi Adeosun became a clog on their wheels of impunity, the same people that she updates every week on plans, progress and challenges, bringing hope & sense of belonging, were the ones who jumped on the train of quick judgment. She left and impunity reigned. No one interested in saying no to the jackals anymore, Kemi Adeosun never understood their language and won't play ball.

Glad Prof Nnaji remained focused on his dream and made it happen. A true leader.

FoodRe: Substitute For Meat And Fish by Shikena(m):
Must it always be about animals?

Ask how Nigerians survived the dark years between June 12, 1993 and liberation after Abacha's death in 1998.
There are very healthy plant-based meat alternatives that Nigerians have been doing long before celebrity oyinbo healthy-living bloggers got primetime.

Also, that period gave birth to the popularity of Zobo, Kunu, Wara-Soya (see image below) etc.

Tough times never last but tough people do (Robert Schuller). That period came and passed, this period will pass too. However, the poor will remain among us. It all depends on what you do during the time of adversity. Over 200 million people can't be busy complaining about food and government handout, that is stupid and shameful. Let's rise up as real men and women.

That is exactly where I pray Nigeria to be. Healthy competition around progressive developments. The way we do our stupid "I better pass my neighbor" mentality should start manifesting in our local and state governments. We want badass competition across Nigeria on who has the best roads, hospitals, schools, markets, resorts etc!!!!! Do it directly or reach out to investors to get it done. Bottomline, get it done.

You are right. This place can turn anyone into something else and most people just come here to catch fun. A typical Nairalander will just read the headlines and react, no context. Not attacking anyone as I have also done it since I joined NL so I'm guilty.

I'm glad the thread author is taking the right steps by seeking proper medical diagnosis towards finding a solution.
