..... ehmmm but I just read some obidients attacking Ambode on another thread? Why are they hailing Peter Obi for doing the same thing here? Shey dem don shift goal post ni? |
That is the dreaded Nigerian factor that is always making the outcome of every economic policy defy defined economic logic since Nigeria was formed. The only factor that definitively impacts Nigerian economy is global oil price. Any other thing, Nigerians will scatter it even if the economy is handled by the inventor of economics. wunmi590: |
Did they complain when they bought at lower dollar rate and hit market at higher rate? That is normal risk of doing any business. CorrectionFLuid: |

In every system you are free to commit crime but don't come and be claiming victimization when the hands of the law grabs you. That's how it works, always know what you signed up for. blackgold2018: |
Excellent. We are not ready for unregulated market. |

Depends on your definition of achievement. e.g. generally, if you successfully accomplish a defined goal then that's an achievement. On Japa, if you are at a certain situation at your current location and you have defined a future situation that you want to attain with Japa as a step towards that then it's an achievement. If you attain your goal by reaching your future situation then it's a big achievement. natedroid: |
That's true, by now we would have had Obi's only economic investment in Anambra replicated across the 36 states. Hero beer for everyone. That alone would have solved these issues coming from all our years of economic mismanagement in 9 months. ufotunang: |
In the book of Genesis, God worked for 6 days and rested on the 7th day. Our pastorpreneurs, for decades, have been turning our workplaces to worship centers while buying private jets and top range vehicles forcing many to visit worship centers for 6 days a week while their cumulative work life is less than one day a week. |
The real issue with our system right there! nairavsdollars: |
For those outside of the concrete jungles of the major cities, find any usable land space and plant something even if it's just vegetables. Harvest time will never stop unless you fail to plant. Small farming is not a full time job. Overcome your excuses and plant something today. Whether you plant or not, rains will come and harvest time will come. You either harvest something or you harvest nothing. |
The thing tire me. Political differences is fine but wishing your country evil to prove your point is on another level. iamjavadem: |

Na our leaders, na our government, let the masses breath. We go dey shout and often rightfully so but what are we doing in our respective corners of Nigeria on a daily basis? How many corrupt practices have you engaged in this week alone? If you are an active practitioner of corruption on your street, your house, or your workplace do you expect to suddenly become a saint when you are in position of public trust and authority or you think those leaders/government people fall from the sky? The way forward is to start addressing this on individual basis with personal revolution. It's like planting a seed, it takes time but it will almost certainly grow into a tree and your tree will be part of a formidable forest. Instant gratification will never work here. We have papered over the cracks for decades, it's reality time in Nigeria. |
So victims of kidnapping drive themselves inside the bush for kidnappers to kidnap them? This step is to ensure that you don't involuntarily find yourself led inside the bush by kidnappers. What is the problem with that? Mrtaye: |
Security is synonymous with a bit of inconvenience. There is no substitute for safety. Extortion is bad and must be addressed and stopped, but I will take that over getting kidnapped. Get our security forces out there. This is an emergency situation and not a time for someone sitting comfortably on his sofa blowing grammar on ideals. There are cellphones and other recording devices, we have seen bad eggs involved in extortion getting exposed. That is how it should be and not the stupidity of sacrificing your security because of delays and extortion. Kidnapping is the highest form of extortion and often leads to murder. That is higher priority. |
Good development. Security first before any other concern. |
Success is not a destination it's a journey. |
So Seyi Makinde of Oyo attracted $0 in FDI despite all the talk about international connection? |
No gree o. No gree for him. Your bestie and all male friends are very important in your life and must be kept at all cost. How can he even expect a grown up like you to live without your bestie? |
No gree o |
Agree that it is not 'profitable' but disagree that it is just a feel good project. Government is not necessarily about profit making but provision of enabling environment for thriving economy. Note, I disagree with you is not the same as 'you make no sense'. You made perfect sense but the debate on the role of government and the cost of NOT providing these expensive public infrastructure is age long. mrvitalis: |

![]() You sound hurt... why? Maybe your model is not as efficient as you assume but that shouldn't be enough ground for frustration at the very first hint of challenge. It wasn't even a challenge, just less than 100% conformity & thinking of it, you may actually make more sense in your native language though ![]() casualobserver: |
Oh, here comes the insults?Grandeur issues to tantrums? ![]() At least we got somewhere but still need to be clear about the differences between these systems (this goes beyond derivation/resource control) and why the presidential system enables the factors inhibiting an effective approach towards sustainable performance across key sectors. All with clear understanding of the Nigerian situation. casualobserver: |
