First of all, women who work are not competing with their husbands in anything, the economy is hard coupled with the fact that husbands tend to resent wives who contribute nothing financially to the running of the home so the women end up taking up jobs to avoid insults and disrespect from their husbands that see them as leeches.
Even here on nairaland you see guys insulting women who don't have a job and advicimg each other to only marry working women so how can you blame the women for taking up jobs and say it because they want to compete with men?
The average Nigerian male doesn't even want to marry a jobless woman.

As for taking up jobs that are flexible; you are just speaking idealistically. How many of these flexible jobs actually pay well enough to make any impact or any difference in the woman and her children's lives? Is it teaching that the salary is 15k and the teacher spends like 5k on transport alone or petty trading that fetches about 10k monthly?

Many men don't even appreciate their wives that do these petty jobs because the women are barely contributing anything financially so the men think they are the only ones providing.

It's better for males that don't want their wives to neglect his infant kids, to work to double his hustle and possibly get multiple jobs instead of bullying their wives into getting 9-5 jobs that require dumping new born infants in daycare from dawn to dusk.

Thanks for your response which I find quite comprehensive. I guess you’re right in concluding that I was speaking idealistically. For your information, he who wishes to live in the new Earth which is even now being prepared must be prepared to adjust to the Laws of God which are woven inextricably into His Creation.
So, s/he who wishes to live by the Laws of the Almighty Creator cannot but be idealistic….no half measures….one cannot serve God and mammon….a choice has to be made by each individual. The earth is too far gone to the side of the Darkness….no change, no gain.
Think about it!

Hmmmm…..what you say makes some sense but I cannot understand why you describe your Creator as ‘an imaginary creature’. Are you not truly convinced that the CREATOR exists?
Hwvr, I agree with your submission that no third party can truly forgive you your sins unless it was committed against them personally in the first place. Even the Bible bears this out: ….A sin against the Father can be forgiven, a sin against the Son can be forgiven but Trespass against the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven. This is simply because the Holy Spirit is responsible for Creation and it’s Laws!
That is why the Laws of Creation are inflexible and they take their course by dispensing reward and punishment in an impartial and adamantine fashion against anyone who violates the Law.
So, think deep before you sin or kill people….you will have to pay for your misdeeds at some point!

The place of modern-day womanhood is really pitiful. Why should they be seeking to compete with men in earthly dominance and contro? Is that what the Creator has ordained.
Why did the Creator make it such that only womanhood can bring forth offsprings?
Look at the physical build of manhood and compare it to the delicate one of genuine womanhood…is the Creator not already telling you something thereby?
Look at the nature and tendencies as well as the ‘manner of working’ of man (aggressive, domineering, forceful, etc,) and compare that with that of genuine womanhood (gentle, accommodating, peace-loving, etc,).
If we think deeply about it, we realise that our vocations are meant to be different as willed by our Creator!
So, a genuine woman should not be striving to compete with a man in terms of bringing food to the table…particularly when she has started bringing children into the world. If she has to engage herself to supplement/support her partner, she should be wise enough to choose vocations that will allow her pay due attention and care to her growing offsprings…..it’s a matter of prioritising things!
There are professions like teaching (which allows maximum holiday periods that they can go into, as well as self-employment which provides the flexibility required to enable them play their role in the lives of those children they agreed to bring into the world.
It they are unwilling to make the necessary sacrifices, they should desist from bringing children into the world that they cannot look after as willed by the Creator. The spiritual price they have to pay can be quite heavy….possibly irredeemable!

How can Buni’s CEPC propose to whittle down the influence and participation of members of the National Assembly, a body which is supposed to be the third arm of government in a democracy and which is supposed to have comparatively equal strength with the other arms by proposing to reduce their participatory numbers at presidential primaries? The National Assembly constitutes the largest representation of the masses of people in a democracy.
Buni and his Oga in Aso Rock cannot get away with such evil machinations in a million years. These guys can even impeach the President before 2023. They’re just trying to see him through his failed administration and send him back to Daura to take care of his cows…but he seems to be pushing his luck. No shaking man!! grin

What is a one year, seven months old baby doing in a nursery school in the first place? He’s a baby for Heaven’s sake and should be in the care of his parents at home. This desire to rob our children of their childhood years by foisting early intellectual learning on them is getting on the ridiculous. Let children be children and let them enjoy their childhood years. One day, we will ALL answer to our Creator how we treated these children!

Personally I prefer the power to remain in the north, to shifting to the south, because the south has ruled for 14yrs vs 10 yrs of northern rule. Also, the north has demonstrated to be patriotic than most southerners, but if power must go south, then it’s only right for the Yorubas to have it.

The latter part of your submission is bang on…well said! He who sows must reap…..people should learn to plan well ahead rather than shouting “it’s our turn” from the rooftops!
As for the length of time the North had ruled, I agree more with Papa Edwin Clark (the leader of the SouthSouth group) that the North has ruled Nigeria for more like 41 out of 55 years. The fact that they were smart enough to be playing a game of musical chairs by using their Boys in Kahki does not remove the fact that they were still in charge, ruling Nigeria. Whether you call it Democracy or something else is neither here nor there!

Remember there’s a Commandment that says…Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness Against Thy Neighbour. If you do not learn this simple lesson, you may find yourself in the dock about something you know nothing about….then you will have to look upwards to plead for Help from your Creator whose Commandment you have wantonly violated. It's just common sense for Jagaban to contest after putting alot into the Party. Imagine someone asking you not to reap despite sowing alot. How many Nigerians will gladly do that Well, APC will lose without Jagaban (Unless he supports PYO wholeheartedly, which is unlikely) on the Ballot and Jagaban will lose without APC.

APC definitely needs Tinubu. Whether they give him the ticket or not, they better ensure that he’s on their side wholeheartedly!

Again, you think presidency is a matter for academics and lecturers who should be reading their long thesis within the walls of Universities and places of higher learning? It is not about knowing the theory and being able to read long dissertations to the public. It is about being able to actualise what will change people’s lives for the better!
American Presidents like…Donald Trump (aged 75) and Joe Biden (aged 79) do not have the energy of marathon runners but they have not wrecked America ….but you think you know better than the Americans who choose to rely more on “experience and wisdom” from their elderly leaders? It is not about running around because you have the energy to be here, there and everywhere……it is about knowing what to do and being able to fire people up (motivate the citizenry) to do what needs to be done. At the end of the day, it’s the people themselves that make their Nations great…..they just need wise leaders to give them direction….such wise leadership is not the exclusive preserve of the Youth but is more abundant among the mature and those ripened by age!!
