VillageBoi: Thanks Sholay, none of us are perfect, we all do make mistakes and we sometimes say things we shouldnt... but hey we're human. Ikamenze does post quite a bit of pretty good stuff but he also resorts to slightly personal attacks in various threads. As you said, it might not be his intention hence me not going off on him. But there are other ways to vent opinions without making it that personal. I'm no saint, never have claimed to be, I used to be a bit rough around the edges my early days here... to the extent in some threads now people say 'That's not you' - Even I have had to learn better ways of criticism and encouragement - at the end of the day I guess we all want the same goal.

Lol. Thank God you know you were not really 'nice' with your criticisms then when I first got here and I kinda had a hard time getting you.

Thanks to God, you don dey change . Me too (didn't always take criticism well then, whether destructive or constructive) and that made our combination toxic. I think I'm improving sha.

@Ikamenze...Bro, your post was eye-opening (along with what speedyboi wrote) but the end was a let-down. You can 'correct' people and drive home your point without making people feel you're 'attacking' them (I assume that's not your intent).

Like my script thread, many of your corrections were valid but I had to sound 'silly' in my response 'cos I felt you were 'attacking my person'.

I'm just being truthful, not an attempt to defend a friend: Villageboi. If it was Villageboi too that did this, I would even take it personally and may spew invectives sef.

Yeah...strange but not that funny thing that happens to me is I seem to run into/meet people few weeks or days to their death.

When I was in 200 level then in OAU, I met a guy through a female friend of mine who was incidentally reading in the same lecture theatre that I was. I got to know him that night as Stephen, a student of Psychology dept. We even argued which department was better between his and mine and gisted. Two weeks later, I saw Stephen in my hall and greeted him and he got to even know my room in Fajuyi Hall. Not long after, a roommate of mine in Psychology told me his departmental colleague died in town the previous night through something like a heart attack, from his sleep! It was later I got to know it was Stephen who I just got to know like few weeks before.

Second one, I was in the same fellowship subgroup with this guy in my 100L then. He later left our fellowship all of a sudden and didn't see him again, even though we were in the same OAU. Fast forward, I ran into him in my 500 level and re-established contacts. Coincidentally, I saw him in my room (to greet another roommate who was in the same department with him) and we talked and he promised to lend me a textbook for an assignment a lecturer gave my class. Five days later, my roommate (in his department) came int the room and told me he is dead. I was shocked! Later found out he drowned in a swimming pool. And he was in final year then oh.

Third one, I was walking to GTBank and ran into this Junior of mine in Secondary School then. We talked and went our different ways. I think a week later, my younger bro told me the guy has died. I was like . 'The guy I just saw last week, after many years?!'. Later learnt he took overdose of a strange mixture of hard drugs.

*Sighs*

This ebola palaver is a good example of why this thread needs to be on frontpage.

A: Well, I won't particularly point to one moment. First one, when my short film scripts 'Paranoia' and 'Nigerian Horror Story' made frontpage and received positive and encouraging words.
Second one, when I was neck deep in the big brother thread last year, ardently supporting Dillish, who eventually won!
Third one, those dayz in family section when chaircover, debrief08 etc were quite active. The section has been turned into a male vs female abode now.
