Afam4eva: Emem Isong's movies always star Desmond Elliot, Ikpe Etim etc. It's not only in Nollywood that it happens though. It's evident in Hollywood and Bollywood. As far as the Actor plays their part well, you can star them in all your movies. ![]() |
Afam4eva: Ha, Izu Ojukwu remains by best ever Nigerian Action movie director. He has always churned out quality action movies. I remember he did a movie about the civil war some time ago that starred Kanayo O Kanayo. The guy bis good.I would give that title to Teco Benson. Though, Izu is the better director/filmmaker. |
speedyboi:I totally agree! !!!!! I am not a fan of Emee isong and her boring love stories. She shud forking step up joor! ![]() |
it wasn't just you that didn't enjoy The Figurine.......I didn't enjoy the movie as well. The story telling was so awful. I had to watch it trice to get what the story was trying to teach and till date, I can't tell what the story was all about. Not to forget how boring the movie was, it was so in-active. I slept while watching it for the first time. The only good thing about the movie was the technical aspect and maybe Ramsey Nouah's performance. It was so bleeping dull and boring. I still think 'October 1' will be better though.
You are entitled to your opinion but I enjoyed seeing 'Figurine'. You said you don't get what the story is all about? Ok oh. The main message is to explore the belief of whether occurrences are caused by a (mostly spiritual) force or by coincidence. Though, the ending of the movie seemed rushed, it's a very good movie IMO with a deep message that leaves a question mark in one's heart about belief. That was why the movie ended wiv: "What do you believe? " |
lertee: Yes hAppy new month. You mean fetish tinz? I don't think so. He just likes to stay authentically african no matter how modern the plot of his movie is. And you know...the african culture sometimes extends to what you call 'fetish'. Have you seen 'Phone Swap'? It's a very nice comedy by Kunle also. It wasn't 'fetish' but still was 'african'. |
prof800: Bros...it's out already...even moved to frontpage.Yeah...tnx. Saw it immediately I vacated this thread. |
Nice one. Kunle, omo Afolayan...O kare lai. ![]() |
lertee: Good morningMorning and happy new month dear. Nollywood is growing better already. Btw, I think Kunle Afolayan shud release a trailer to his October 1 movie today...nt sure. |
@Skillet.. I really like your no 1 point. You mean script writers should not "tell" but "show" what can be seen onscreen. Your no 2 point is quite true too. But amidst all this, only very few scriptwriters have impressed me in Nollywood. Like Kemi Adesoye (Figurine, Phone swap, former head writer for Tinsel). I'm not an admirer of Emem Isong's boring love stories, sorry to say. |
