A magistrate court in Port Harcourt has remanded a middle-aged man, Alfred Chikere in prison for allegedly eloping with a 12-year-old girl.

The Court also ordered the detention of the minor in a remand home for agreeing to have consented to sexual intercourse with Chikere.

Chikere was slammed with two counts of Abduction and defilement of a teenager and will be prosecuted under Section 361 of the Criminal Code of the Rivers State Laws.

The Police in the charge sheet alleged that Alfred Chikere, 38 camped the 12-year-old girl in his house for up to a month before the parents launched a search for her whereabouts.

The Prosecutor ASP Omorujia further told the court that the man abducted the girl as a virgin and deflowered her through the one month he took her in.

But Senior Magistrate C.J Digwe was shocked when the 12-year-old girl said she consented to the sexual advances of Chikere because she “likes sex”.

The Court adjourned the matter to April 20, 2021, for hearing.

Prince Harry left his role as a senior royal and after moving to California he's taking on a more American job: an executive at a tech start-up in Silicon Valley. Harry will become chief impact officer of BetterUp Inc., the company's CEO Alexi Robichaux wrote in a blog post on Tuesday.

BetterUp is a professional coaching platform with a goal to "fuel whole person growth through individual coaching and custom support," according to the company's site. 

"As a true citizen of the world, he has dedicated his life's work to bringing attention to the diverse needs of people everywhere and advocating for mental health initiatives: from founding the Invictus Games, a platform for service personnel to use sport as part of their psychological and physical rehabilitation, to launching Sentebale, which supports the mental health and wellbeing of young people affected by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana," Roubichaux said in the post. 

In his own blog post, Harry said he joined BetterUp because he believes "that focusing on and prioritising our mental fitness unlocks potential and opportunity that we never knew we had inside of us."

"As the Royal Marine Commandos say, 'It's a state of mind.' We all have it in us," he continued. He said during his decade in the military, he learned that "we don't just need to build physical resilience, but also mental resilience."

"And in the years since, my understanding of what resilience means — and how we can build it — has been shaped by the thousands of people and experts I've been fortunate to meet and learn from," Harry said. 

Harry revealed he has worked with a BetterUp coach, which he found "invaluable."

Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, left the U.K. last year and are now living in their own house in the Santa Barbara area. Harry's new job is not the couple's first business venture in the U.S. They started their own nonprofit foundation, Archewell, and also signed deals with Spotify and Netflix for content creation through Archewell Audio and Archewell Productions.

In a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey on CBS, Harry revealed the struggles he and Meghan endured as part of the royal family, including racism and negative media attention, and explained their decision to leave their roles and move to the U.S. 

He also said the royal family cut him off financially in the first quarter of 2020, when he and his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, planned to step back from their duties as "senior" royals. At the time, they had had "no plan," Harry said.

"I've got all my mom left me and without that we would not be able to do this," Harry said. According to BBC News, Harry and his brother, Prince William, received the bulk of the £13m fortune left by their mother when she died.

Jeff Bezos' ex-wife MacKenzie Scott, who is worth $53 billion, marries a Seattle science teacher who works at her kids' private school following 2019 divorce - and the Amazon founder wishes them congrats!

MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, has remarried a Seattle private school teacher, it has been revealed.

Scott, who was previously known as MacKenzie Bezos and is worth an estimated $53 billion, divorced the Amazon founder back in 2019 after 25 years of marriage.

The 50-year-old's new husband is Dan Jewett - a science teacher at the private Seattle Lakeside School. 

The couple first mentioned their marriage publicly on Saturday in a post on the Giving Pledge - a site where billionaires and millionaires vow to dedicate their wealth to others. 

It is not yet clear when the couple married or how long they have been together. 

Bezos, in a statement via an Amazon spokesman, said: 'Dan is such a great guy, and I am happy and excited for the both of them'.

A source confirmed Scott and Jewett's marriage to the Wall Street Journal.   

In a post on the site, Jewett said he was joining his wife's 'commitment to pass on an enormous financial wealth to serve others'. 

'It is strange to be writing a letter indicating I plan to give away the majority of my wealth during my lifetime, as I have never sought to gather the kind of wealth required to feel like saying such a thing would have particular meaning,' Jewett wrote. 

'I have been a teacher for the majority of my life, as well as a grateful student of the generosity of those around me. This has meant doing my best to follow their example by passing on resources of all kinds - from time, to energy, to material possessions - when I have had them to give. 

'And now, in a stroke of happy coincidence, I am married to one of the most generous and kind people I know - and joining her in a commitment to pass on an enormous financial wealth to serve others.'

Since her divorce from Bezos in 2019, Scott - who helped create Amazon - has already dedicated a portion of her wealth.  

She gave away almost $6 billion last year alone. 

In a Medium post in December, Scott revealed she had given away $4.1 billion in the previous four months to hundreds of organizations in a bid to help those financially gutted by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

She had previously donated $1.68 billion to 116 nonprofits, universities, community development groups and legal organizations in July 2020. 

The donations are related to her Giving Pledge commitment that she made after divorcing Bezos. 

The Giving Pledge site was created by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet. 

Other cosigners include Steve and Jean Case; Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan; and Sara Blakely. 

Bezos has so far not signed the pledge but he does routinely donate some of his wealth to charitable causes.
