What will you gain in wishing the newly elected President of your Country (Nigeria) fails, just to justify your reason for voting or supporting the outgone president.

What will you or the Country gain from people just waiting to highlight or point out where the new president would fail at keeping his promises.

If Nigeria becomes better under his watch, it is to our collective benefit.

The Nation has a pledge;
I pledge Nigeria my Country, to be faithful loyal and honest,
To serve Nigeria with all my strength,
To defend our unity,
And uphold our Honour and Glory,
So help me God.

Are you true to this pledge as a citizen.

Even the outgone president is relieved of this burden he has been bearing all these while and has moved on, allowing new sets of minds and hands to help us all steer the country towards the paths of prosperity.

We have a New President, lets accept this reality and Pray for his success. Most importantly, we must realise that, just as the New President starts his duties, we have also be sworn in to the Office of the Citizen of the Federeal Republic of Nigeria.

Be an active citizen, play your part. Don't be an activist who just talks a lot of negative and highlights problems. But be an active citizen who lives in honesty and Loves their neighbours just as the major religions encourage. Speak life, speak positive, Speak Unity, Speak love, and let the blessings be ours.....

If Nigerians (The World) know and believed in the Love professed in the good books, things would have been better...

PreachLove...

John 3:16

For Allaha loved the world in this
way: so much that he would give up a Son, The One, so that
everyone who trusts in him shall not be lost, but he shall have
eternal life.

P.S. (where do you see is only begotten son in
this)
Your heart is desperately seeking the truth. I see your posts. One day you will come to the full realisation of the Truth.
Forget about what some christians are practicing, or what some churches are doing, different people with their own interpretation.
Everyone has their own path, their own life's Journey
God guides everyone to the truth in his own time.

Going to church is not the most important for Christians. Coming to knowledge of the Light and Love God brings through Jesus is what matters.

I pray for you, that you will find the Truth. All I know is that, God Loves you soo much, whether you offend him, No matter how much you sin, He has forgiven and forgotten about your sins.

His Love is unconditional. He doesn't Love the way men Love. It is something we cannot explain

No sin you commit will stop him from Loving you.The only thing he wants you to do is just to accept this Love. (John 3:16).
The only sin is unbelief. God has gone past our sins. Jesus handled it. and he has reunited the whole world with the FATHER. just believe.

when you believe, he then gives you the power to become a Son of God.

Christianity EtcRe: Prophet Muhammad Prophesied In Bible by Sibe007(m): 8:18am On Apr 28, 2015
shahydbinaliyu:
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the Old Testament:
The Qur’an mentions in Surah Al-Araf chapter 7 verse 157:
"Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom
they find mentioned in their own (scriptures) in the law and the
Gospel".
1.
MUHAMMAD (PBUH) PROPHESISED IN THE BOOK OF
DEUTERONOMY:
Almighty God speaks to Moses in Book of Deuteronomy chapter 18
verse 18:
"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like
unto thee, and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall
speak unto them all that I shall command him."
The Christians say that this prophecy refers to Jesus (pbuh)
because Jesus (pbuh) was like Moses (pbuh). Moses (pbuh) was a
Jew, as well as Jesus (pbuh) was a Jew. Moses (pbuh) was a
Prophet and Jesus (pbuh) was also a Prophet.
If these two are the only criteria for this prophecy to be fulfilled,
then all the Prophets of the Bible who came after
Moses (pbuh) such as Solomon, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea,
Joel, Malachi, John the Baptist, etc. (pbut) will
fulfill this prophecy since all were Jews as well as prophets.
However, it is Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who is like Moses
(pbuh):
i)
Both had a father and a mother, while Jesus (pbuh) was born
miraculously without any male intervention.
[Mathew 1:18 and Luke 1:35 and also Al-Qur'an 3:42-47]
ii)
Both were married and had children. Jesus (pbuh) according to the
Bible did not marry nor had children.
iii)
Both died natural deaths. Jesus (pbuh) has been raised up alive.
(4:157-158)
Muhammad (pbuh) is from among the brethren of Moses (pbuh).
Arabs are brethren of Jews. Abraham (pbuh) had two sons: Ishmail
and Isaac (pbut). The Arabs are the descendants of Ishmail (pbuh)
and the Jews are the descendants of Isaac (pbuh).
Words in the mouth:
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was unlettered and whatever revelations
he received from Almighty God he repeated them verbatim.
"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like
unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak
unto them all that I shall command him."
[Deuteronomy 18:18]
iv)
Both besides being Prophets were also kings i.e. they could inflict
capital punishment. Jesus (pbuh) said, "My kingdom is not of this
world." (John 18:36).
v)
Both were accepted as Prophets by their people in their lifetime but
Jesus (pbuh) was rejected by his
people. John chapter 1 verse 11 states, "He came unto his own, but
his own received him not."
iv)
Both brought new laws and new regulations for their people. Jesus
(pbuh) according to the Bible did not bring any new laws.
(Mathew 5:17-18)
.
2.
It is Mentioned in the book of Deuteronomy chapter 18:19
"And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not harken unto my
words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him."
3.
Muhammad (pbuh) is prophesised in the book of Isaiah:
It is mentioned in the book of Isaiah chapter 29 verse 12:
"And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying,
Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned."
When Archangel Gabrail commanded Muhammad (pbuh) by saying
Iqra - "Read", he replied, "I am not learned"
.
4.
prophet Muhammad (pbuh) mentioned by name in the old
testament:
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is mentioned by name in the Song of
Solomon chapter 5 verse 16:
" Hikko Mamittakim we kullo Muhammadim Zehdoodeh wa
Zehraee Bayna Jerusalem."
"His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my
beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters
of Jerusalem."
In the Hebrew language im is added for respect. Similarely im is
added after the name of Prophet Muhammad
(pbuh) to make it Muhammadim. In English translation they have
even translated the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as
"altogether lovely", but in the Old Testament in Hebrew, the name
of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is yet present.
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the New Testament:
Al-Qur'an Chapter 61 Verse 6:
"And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said, 'O Children of
Israel! I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the
Law (which came) before me and giving glad tidings of a
messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmed.' But
when he came to them with clear signs, they said, 'This is evident
sorcery!' "
All the prophecies mentioned in the Old Testament regarding
Muhammad (pbuh) besides applying to the Jews also hold good for
the Christians.
1.
John chapter 14 verse 16:
"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another
Comforter, that he may abide with you forever."
2.
Gospel of John chapter 15 verse 26:
"But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from
the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which
proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me."
3.
Gospel of John chapter 16 verse 7:
"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go
away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not
come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you".
"Ahmed" or "Muhammad" meaning "the one who praises" or "the
praised one" is almost the translation of the
Greek word Periclytos . In the Gospel of John 14:16, 15:26, and
16:7. The word 'Comforter' is used in the English translation for
the Greek word Paracletos which means advocate or a kind friend
rather than a comforter.
Paracletos is the warped reading for Periclytos . Jesus (pbuh)
actually prophesised Ahmed by name. Even the
Greek word Paraclete refers to the Prophet (pbuh) who is a mercy
for all creatures.
Some Christians say that the Comforter mentioned in these
prophecies refers to the Holy Sprit. They fail to realise
that the prophecy clearly says that only if Jesus (pbuh) departs will
the Comforter come. The Bible states that the
Holy Spirit was already present on earth before and during the time
of Jesus (pbuh), in the womb of Elizabeth, and again when Jesus
(pbuh) was being baptised, etc. Hence this prophecy refers to none
other than Prophet
Muhammad (pbuh).
4.
Gospel of John chapter 16 verse 12-14:
"I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them
now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is
come, he will guide you unto all truth: for he shall not speak of
himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he
will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me".
The Sprit of Truth, spoken about in this prophecy referes to none
other than Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

Look what u dont know is, when Paul said A woman shud b quiet in church, what he meant waz that a woman shouldnt preach......now listen, Prophesing isnt preaching, as a matter of fact the are all part of the divine gifts(i think dey re abt 5 or 7 not exactly sure...Preacher, Dreamer, phophesy, etc). no whr in d Bible wud u see a place a woman preached, but a woman did prophecy in d bible .....so u see Paul teachings was straight dnt confuse urself. A woman according to the bible shud not stand behind an altar preaching.
A woman according to the bible should not stand behind the altar preachinghuh Really?? Where in your bible??
It says women should be silent, if you take it that way, they wouldnt even need to sing or even say anything in church.

The point of the post is to show something that was lost in translation from the Hebrew to English. Paul was responding to their letters they wrote to him.

so he quoted them, just as i quoted you and responded.

Christianity EtcTRUTH: Did Paul Say Women Should Remain Quiet In Church?? by Sibe007(op): 11:19pm On Apr 27, 2015
2 Timothy 2:15 Rightly divide the Word of Truth.

1 cor 14:
33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.
34 Women[f] should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.[g]
36 Or did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only people it has reached? 37 If anyone thinks they are a prophet or otherwise gifted by the Spirit, let them acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command. 38 But if anyone ignores this, they will themselves be ignored.[h]
39 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. 40 But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.

Looking at the above, you would see some contradictions. How will Paul say women should be silent in verse 34 and same time say in verse 39. my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy and do not forbid speaking in tongues.

Paul could not have said about women prophesying in 1 Corinthians 11 and go on to say women should be silent in 1 Corinthians 14.

The truth is there is no contradiction. If you follow the story from the beginning, you would see that there was a central theme bothering around orderliness in worship and verse 34 and 35 seems out of place. The reason is because Paul was responding to letters they had written to him, hence verse 34 and 35 was a quote from their letters. They were pointing to their Law, how women were not allowed to speak. Paul questioned them asking if they were the only ones who had God's word or if the Word of God originated from them. In KJV verse 36

36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

This was an interaction between Paul and the Corinthians, he was responding to a letter they wrote earlier.

1 cor 7:1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
So the book of 1 Corinthians was Paul's response to their letter to him, and he did quote from their letters directly in his writing to them, which was not properly reflected in the English translation.

The truth was that Paul was rebuking them. He took their quote in verse 34 and 35 and tore it apart. Reading the verses before and the verses after would give more insight.

The point is Paul never said that, the Corinthians said that, and Paul was responding to that.
Read the post again if you have.....

Stay blessed.

To put in summary, any so called man of God that is nothing like Jesus should be feared. The first thing that comes to mind when I see all the so called men of God is, what would it be like if Jesus was in their position?

What would be like if Jesus was to have schools, what would the school fees be like?

What would it be like if Jesus was to have mega churches, and there are poor people in and around the church?

What would it be like if Jesus was visited by corrupt politicians?

What would Jesus say about elections? Etc

NB Maturity in Christ is not measured by how much of God u know, or how much of the gift u have and how u display them, bt how much of Christ had been formed in u.s.

If Jesus was to be u, living in same house, having same friends plus ur same age, would He talk as u talk, would He act as u act or be called a Christian?

Christianity Etc10 Pastors I’m Concerned About by Sibe007(op): 2:40am On Apr 12, 2015
by Scott Postma

It’s not a secret the church has been in decline for a number of years and for a variety of reasons. You can read some statistics and views on why, here and here and here. Everyone has their opinions.

Abuse, apostasy, and irrelevance are just a few of the words that keep coming up in the search for reasons for the decline. There are a variety of compelling opinions and I even have a few of my own.

But I suggest there is another area of decline more significant and perhaps much less obvious—and one that certainly contributes to the church’s decline in numbers.

And I think its likely a careful analysis would implicate the church’s leadership for this more significant issue.

In other words, I’m concerned about pastors and the role they play in the church’s decline.
By saying so, I’m not suggesting this pastor has it all together. Nor am I trying to cultivate (or ratify) some dishonest skeptics’ hate for the church. Rather, I’m hoping to raise some concerns in a conversational kind of way.

Further, I’m not claiming to be the expert in all church issues. However, I have been in some form of pastoral ministry for the last 19 years and feel I have some measure of insight about the issue.

So in an effort to pursue this conversation in a healthy way, here are 10 pastors I’m concerned about.

1) I’m concerned about the pastor who is better at managing church programs than he is at making disciples of Jesus. Thom Rainer & Eric Geiger addressed this topic somewhat in the book Simple Church, but I’m not sure how many pastors paid attention to the message. The church is not better because it has more programs. It’s quite possible for programs to hinder its real mission.

2) I’m concerned about the pastor who attracts people with fancy self-help sermons instead of teaching people to be students of the Bible and theology. Sure topical sermons can be helpful teaching tools when used appropriately and in moderation. But to pique interest in the unchurched, church-growth pastors have promoted episodic sermons ad nauseam and to no avail at effectively grounding deeply committed disciples of Jesus, as the statistics provided previously demonstrate.

3) I’m concerned about the pastor who is a chief executive instead of a contemplative sage. The pastor is called to a contemplative life of prayer and study of the word (Acts 6:4Open in Logos Bible Software (if available) cf. Ephesians 4:11-16Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)). From that life his ministry flows to the church. The pastor was never called to be a rock-star communicator or bench-mark business leader. He was called to model redemption and shepherd the flock of God (1 Peter 5:1-4Open in Logos Bible Software (if available) cf. Acts 20:28Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)). Perhaps pastors should consider putting away their John Maxwell and Nelson Searcy books and picking up the Bible and the church fathers.

4) I’m concerned about the pastor who uses the pulpit to milk members instead of minister to the saints. It was the angry atheist, Richard Dawkins, who asked Ted Haggard (back in the day) why he needed a multi-million dollar sound system that paralleled that of MTV to teach people about God. I think that’s a question that deserves an answer. Why do pastors need to build bigger and better on the backs of God’s people? I think the answer may be rooted in the human heart. Francis Chan seemed to have caught that vision when he was still pastor in Simi Valley. And if we think we need to build bigger barns, perhaps we should pray about church planting as a viable alternative.

5) I’m concerned about the pastor who makes growing the church the goal instead of glorifying God the goal. There is no biblical mandate for growing the church. Sure there is one for propagating the gospel and making disciples. But the chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. There is nothing in Scripture, except pride, that drives pastors to drive the flocks they are supposed to be tending.

6) I’m concerned about the pastor who builds his ministry with people instead of building people by his ministry. It seems I’ve said this already, just differently. But here I’m speaking to a philosophy that often underlies many of the abuses in the church. For example, a well-known mega-church pastor once advised me to think of people in seven-year terms. He explained that people generally burn out after seven years. And if I wanted to build a big ministry for God, I would need to leverage those seven years. Funny, I don’t recall God asking pastors to leverage his people for the pastor’s dream of building a big church for God.

7) I’m concerned about the pastor who cultivates a culture of dependency on himself instead of cultivating a culture of community within the church. Of course, I’m not denying spiritual dependency on Christ is biblical. But the pastor is not the people’s savior. He’s a just man who will burn out and fail himself given enough time and responsibility. Christians should be taught to depend on Jesus as our Savior, the church as our sanctifying community, the Bible as our word from God, and the Spirit as our parakletos.

8 ) I’m concerned about the pastor who reads and teaches the Bible literally instead of literarily. This is not to suggest the Bible is not important or any less God’s word. It’s to say the Bible is literature, divine literature to be sure, but literature nonetheless. That means it needs to be read and understood as God’s word to us (or for us) in the context of its literary genre. Not all the Bible is prescriptive; and none of it was written to be used as a random list of verses cherry-picked capriciously to beat people up or defend our personal ideas and beliefs. The Bible is the holy canon which reveals God to us through the person and work of Jesus Christ. Pastors who mishandle God’s word are extremely dangerous.

9) I’m concerned about the pastor who contributes to the culture of consumerism instead of combating idolatry. Pastors who pander to the consumerism in the church are no different than parents who give their kids everything they want to keep them from throwing a fit or to get them to reciprocate love. Christianity isn’t a smorgasbord where people get to pick and choose what they like or don’t. It’s a community of believers on a journey and mission of faith who live in communitas with others for the glory of God, the blessing of his people, and the advancement of his kingdom.

10) I’m concerned about the pastor who sees the church as a stepping stone instead of seeing it as a custodian of Christ’s kingdom. Certainly, God moves people. And certainly pastors have a right to pursue other ventures as the Lord leads and gives liberty. But the church is the primary agent for the stewardship of the gospel and the redemption of the cosmos. It’s the integral institution for advancing Christ’s kingdom and for shaping culture and society. It’s not God’s second-hand agency. It’s not his “Plan B.” Jesus died for the church and it is significant.

These are a few of my concerns about pastors. What are your concerns?

The Law should be amended and the age be further lowered, unfortunately, it is the older people that are in the National assembly that we are expecting to amend this law

Music/RadioNew Music: Mrebis - No Christmas Without You by Sibe007(op): 2:47pm On Dec 21, 2014
In the Spirit of the Season, Here is UK based Nigerian Producer MrEbis with a very Christmassy tune for everyone. The song hopes to remind everyone of how important, we all are to one another, as it is not so pleasant to celebrate alone. Merry Christmas and Compliments of the Season.

Lyrics

It's the time of the year again, when the place feels so cold
It's the time when we celebrate, The Son of the living God.
I don't know how your year has been, But it's coming to an end.
We're just thankful for all that has been, And the Big good times ahead.

Ohh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh Christmas time is here again
Ohh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh There's no Christmas without you

People come, people go, Nothing stays the same
But i 'm just grateful, to have you here
Now you are here with me, right where you belong
And I will cherish this moment, before they disappear

Pyrrho: Almost every stewpid act can be justified with the Bible. While almost every form of killing can be justified with the Koran.
Religion is not too far from madness
You can very well say that again, #OnlyInAfrica, they should not bring this type of anointing to Nigeria oh...
