EntertainmentStop Spending Our Money On Lagos Musicians For Carniriv(rivers Carnival)-ph Acts by Sibe007(op): 4:06pm On Dec 20, 2013
Tammy Steez (Port harcourt based artiste) writes:

Rivers State Carnival "CARNIRIV" Is Nothing But A Waste Of Public Funds.

It Does Not In Any Way Generate Any Revenue Or Economic Value To The State Because.

1. It Has Never Been Beneficial To The Entertainers Of The Rivers State.

(A) There Are People Here In Rivers State That Has World Class Stages, Lights, Sounds Etc.

(B) CARNIRIV Organizers: You People Should Stop Spending Our Rivers State Money Going To Lagos And Start Paying Huge Some Of Millions And Transportation To Get All Those Things Down To Port Harcourt.

(C) There's A Saying That: What You're Looking For In Sokoto Is In Your Shokoto.

2. The CARNIRIV Organizers Don't Seem To Recognize The Fact That, Your Own Is Your Own Or Our Own Is Our Own. So If They Don't Empower Their Own How Do They Meet Up The Standard Of The People They Value As The So Called Stars Whom The Port Harcourt Entertainers Are Better Than Musically.

3. The Organizers Of The "CARNIRIV" Will Bill A Lagos Artiste For Our Own Rivers State Carnival And Pay Them Huge Some Of Millions Ranging From N5million, N6million, N8million, N10million And Above Under "I Beg"

4. Then The Port Harcourt Entertainers Will Be Called For A Meeting: "You Know That People Don't Know You Guys That Much, So We Want To Use This Means And Showcase, Expose And Promote You People To The Public, So We Have An Envelope Of N50,000 & N100,000 For Each Of You And Also Take This As Thank You For Coming.

(A) That Is An Insult To Humanity As A True Rivers State Citizen.

(B) This Is A Big Disgrace To People Who Have In Mind To Degrade Their selves For The Sake Of Peanuts.

(C) It Is Just A Total Rubbish And Shame That, Some People Don't Know Their Left From Their Right. And Will Always Live In A Life Of Poverty Mentality And Low Esteemed

5. If The Organizers Of The "CARNIRIV" Empowers The Port Harcourt Entertainers With Those Amount Of Money, Which They Use "I Beg" To Pay The Lagos Entertainers, And Use It To Pay Each Port Harcourt Entertainer That's Billed For The Event, Won't He Or She Be Able To Get Him Or Herself A Good Car, House, Clothes, Shoes Etc, To Come Out And Present Him Or Herself Anywhere In A Public, Government Or Corporate Event That Is Taking Place Anywhere?

Wake Up My Good People Of Rivers State. Fight For Your Right, The State Belongs To Me And You And Not Strangers To Be Coming Here And Sap Us Down.

Let's Not Act As If We Forget So Easily, Knowing Fully Well That The Watch Dog "EFCC" Is Aware About Everything That's Going On And Some People Should Get Ready To Dance When The Drum Plays And To Dance To It.

Music/RadioShayo Grass: Brand New Official Single Debuts On Itunes!!! by Sibe007(op): 3:23am On Mar 20, 2013
Bringing to us some new fusion of Musical bliss!!! This unique and talented artiste is back with something magical up her sleeve. UK based Shayo Grass' new hit, DANCE WITH SOMEBODY, is a fusion between one of her idols,WHITNEY HOUSTON and NATALIE IMBRUGLIA- literally over a very danceable Afro Pop beat. The song appeals to a world wide audience, tested at "non-nigerian" events, the song was a success with all the ethnic groups present. Working towards her final weeks of study at Birmingham City University, she hopes to take her music unto the next level, putting in more effort, to churn out tunes that would be captivating and mind enriching to her fans at the same time.

The song was Produced in West Midlands city of Coventry, United Kingdom by MrEbis and was Mixed and Mastered by @AltimsMAVIN. The song also features Bass guitar and lead Guitar plays by Daniel 'Dbaze' Opaluwa and Ike Kenneth respectively.

The song is now available on iTunes and many other Digital online music stores worldwide.

A video is to be expected in the near future, showcasing this talent on-screen for the first time!!!

Lyrics:
I Love Nigeria
God help Nigeria
God bless Nigeria
My Home, my Home

A country filled with determination Hard work, an asset by nature
Cultures like the rainbow Covered in beauty, golden sun.
Hear the early a.m birds sing As the cool breeze brings Into light,
darkness burn ,Sophistication extraordinary, Intellect is literary
Resources unlimited, Despite greed in abundance
But the seed of greatness, In us still dwells
No matter where i go, There's no place like home

Hard wind blows across, Many have even suffered loss
But we stay standing, And We bear our cross
We always remember ,When the going gets tough God gets going
In sickness or in health, In poverty or in wealth
No matter where I go, This one thing I know
There's no place like home, Nigeria is my home

Akpabio has done well in building Infrastructure, But unfortunately the place is just being beautified but not many real Jobs are being created, hence the migration of the akwa Ibom people to other states (Rivers state et al) for Jobs, Hopefully private investors would get into the state to help create Jobs, In all the Governor has done well.
PoliticsGive Jonathan A Chance (oilsubsidyremoval) by Sibe007(op): 1:45pm On Jan 02, 2012
In the wake of the New Year, the Nigerian Federal government removed the subsidy on petroleum. Which many find inhumane, insensitive to the common Man and an unbearable reality. The NLC and TUC has promised a showdown, and many Vibrant Nigerians on twitter et al are nursing the idea of a Mass revolt.

However, I believe the removal of the Oil subsidy, though of high neccessity is ill timed. I also believe if it had to be done in the best interest of the economy and to gather up more funds which could be channelled towards accelerating the electricity generation projects, then the earlier, the better. Though it be a very Hard pill to swallow, Lets swallow it, hoping it would bring better health to a very Sick nation.

The biggest problem being the Ripple effect which any increase in Oil prices does have on every other aspect of living in Nigeria. A Gravity defying increase, It goes up and hardly comes down.

But then there is a reason for everything. Ruling a nation like Nigeria is no small task. Complaints may not yield much. Violence is never the answer. Lets remain together and make sure the government at all levels are accountable and transparent with the funds that would be saved.

CultureRe: Ph Carnival Pics; The Saturday Street Parade by Sibe007(m): 8:31pm On Dec 21, 2011
Calamama:
This is embarrassing. I thought Nigeria would never be infested with this crutch showing madness. Besides, whats the point? I mean, if this uneasy looking Carnival in Nigeria was created to encourage tourism, can i ask why would a Carnival seeking tourist visit Nigeria instead of Carnival expert nations such as Brazil, Trinidad, Spain and many other Caribbean nations?

You'd have thought that Nigeria, so rich in culture, would find some other indigenous devise to lure tourists. Well, if folks back home lack imagination let me venture a few ideas.

1) masquerade:

Why not gather all those various ethnic masquerade, spend time on their masks and costumes, i.e make sure the raffia are thick, tidy and plentiful, get artists to redo the masks.

2) Dances:

we have so many tribal dances. With over 350 ethnic groups in Nigeria, the world would pay to come to Nigeria if we had yearly dance competitions. I mean something well-staged and well paid for. I mean something professionally handled.

3) Durban in North Nigeria

4) Nollywood:

Yearly, hold casting events for blacks around the world for parts in Nollywood movies.
Great Ideas you've got,

Christianity EtcWill It Ever Be Okay For Christians To Judge Others by Sibe007(op): 4:46am On Dec 04, 2011
Romans 14:4 Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand

Romans 14:10 You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister ? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.

John 7;24 says "Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly"

Matthew 7:1-2 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you"

1 Cor 2;15 "But the spiritual man tries all things [he [g]examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him" (AMP).

John 12:47 “If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.

Acts 18:15 But since it involves questions about words and names and your own law—settle the matter yourselves. I will not be a judge of such things.”

1 Corinthians 6:3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!

1 Corinthians 10:15 I speak to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say.

But then, It is safest to leave everything for God to Judge.

Christianity EtcTo Love Or To Persecute, Gay People by Sibe007(op): 4:00am On Dec 04, 2011
After reading chude Jideonwo's article on the anti gay law issue, below are my thoughts.

About the Homosexuals, Would Christ have embraced them?. The first commandment is LOVE, not PERSECUTE.

Lots of people with different views with regards to homosexuality.

I totally condemn such act, as to me it is wrong and not a thing to be condoned, But if somebody chooses to be wrong, I dont think the best thing is to go brutal on the person, Its better if we are a bit tolerant

Let us teach the truth in Love
