Well that's sad to here. Maybe you should think about moving to a better area. My beliefs remain!!!!!
RomanceRe: 15 year old Girl with a Boyfriend of 28? by SIBLI06(m): 12:43pm On Mar 10, 2006
Personally I think it is very wrong. Is there a lack of suitable guy's in your area,  are the boy's in your area too immature for you?

If I could ask a personal question or two?  do you live with both your parents? Do you have a senior brother?

Moreover what does the guy of 28 see in a 15 yr old girl, is he just after her cherry or is he a little simple. At 15 your still a minor and most educated people would sit you down as a minor and explain that although the divide in years is only 13 years, so much has happened physically, emotionally & spiritually.

TravelRe: Dual Citizenship by SIBLI06(m): 1:27pm On Mar 09, 2006
Oasis, I was wanting Dual citizenship (UK / Nigeria) as I'm a Brit and my wife is Nigerian however the guy at the UK embassy said I would be totally wasting my time and money as he is only aware of one guy in ten years that was accepted and given Nigerian citizenship. I appreciate you may be Nigerian and asking about it from the other angle. I'm referring to becoming a Nigerian Citizen. Good luck anyhow!
TravelRe: Lagos: The World's 5th Worst Place to Live In by SIBLI06(m): 1:12pm On Mar 09, 2006
Again the winging continues, sad sad, why do westerners do that and this!! They are always trying to spoil our countries image, blah blah blah!! Open your eyes!! What is so nice about Lagos? How long did it take you to get to work today, how long is it since you worked, did you have a electrical supply for the last 24hrs, when was the last time you witnessed a crime or street violence? How many day's during your schooling were the teaches on strike or absent from school? Is your street clean?

Have you ever read newspapers from across the globe? lipsrsealed lipsrsealed When was the last time you read about a 12 year old boy being set ablaze in a UK paper? Nigerian news papers are so depressing to read, with so many violence / killing and rape related stories that are plastered across every newspaper. Is Nigeria really a nice a place to live?? (Why am I here you ask, I specialize in safety so my work brings me here, in addition God blessed me with the most beautiful wife from Kwara State.

Why don't Lagosians make Lagos better. What do you want other continents to write about? Can you honestly give me one example of what the world should know about Nigeria, something positive? I have not read the BBC article fully but , has anybody emailed SKY to find out more about the league table or to disagree with their findings?? Is OBJ complaining that the world press are giving the wrong impression of Nigeria? If your tired of the way the Nigeria is portrayed by others why not promote it yourself. Send a email to news@sky.com! try it you might be supprised.

Sorry if the post seems harsh but complaining about an issue rarely changes it. Respect!

It is not the best but when you need to go you have to go. I don't see many suitable public toilets in Lagos!!
PoliticsRe: Open Invitation To Seun: Field Tour/vacation In The Niger Delta For Mr Admin. by SIBLI06(m): 11:45am On Mar 09, 2006
I agree that it would be foolish for Seun to visit the creeks. Owo if you need a voice why do you need Seun. Surely you can get a camera and go round the swamps reporting yourself. If you send me the pics i'll put something together for you that WILL grab peoples attention. Maybe Seun would allow us to show the report here?? Seun

Since 1998 I have visited every single flow station and accessible wellhead in the Northern and southern swamp locations. I can not say everybody is welcoming but generally the people who are located in and around the flowstations are very nice and friendly people even though Nigeria is not looking after them. I have however been held against my will on 3 occasions in the region (Not for more than 24 hours at any time).

I truly feel for the people living in these areas. Why should they continue to suffer when all other parts of Nigeria are enjoying the money that is made in the delta.

My Belief! (would you agree) When oil companies make payments to local host communities, the bigwigs of the communities do not use the money for their kinsmen. How can all this poverty stop when the people you have placed in a privileged position looks only after himself? As I said it is just my opinion, I get angry sometimes listening to people complain about oil company this and white man that when the biggest problem lies right in front of you.

Peace to ALL Nigerians & God bless the needy in the swamps. smiley
PoliticsRe: The Western Media's Portrayal Of Africa by SIBLI06(m): 11:10am On Mar 09, 2006
Unfortunately pictures of a graphical nature are usually required to grab the viewers attention and help people understand. Let's not forget that charity events such as Live Aid used such pictures to show the rest of the world the suffering in parts of Africa to help raise money. Would you prefer that charities stopped sending money because some African's that are not poverty stricken are against the media that is used to help others. I do agree that more positive NeWS should be aired to the rest of the world. I don't personally believe that the pictures are attacking African's only opening people's eyes. Just my opinion though!! Respect to all!!

FamilyRe: I Miss Home: by SIBLI06(m): 2:34pm On Mar 08, 2006
monie0078, I know exactly how you feel. I have been working in Nigeria since 1998. I have probably only had 4 months in the UK over that time due to a heavy workload.

I miss everything from family to nice milk and bread!! My wife and I will be going to the UK in June preparing for the birth of our first son in July. The way I am feeling the chances are we will not return. No doubt then my wife will be missing all her family and friends in Nigeria.

Life can be awkward sometimes but the Big Man upstairs will help you in your plans if you ask him. Hope that you can raise some money and visit everybody in Nigeria some time soon, webcams just aren't the same are they!! Gud luck!
CrimeRe: Wicked Brother Raping Timid Younger Sister by SIBLI06(m): 1:48pm On Mar 08, 2006
angry As a race we can be horrible people at times. How can somebody rape his own sister. Angelbaby we thank God that your friend had the courage to report it, a big weldone to hot-angel & Seun for their advise it obviously helped.

I know about a similar situation involving somebody in my family (Wife's side), where the guy has raped all 4 of his sisters whilst growing up and living at home. I still can not decide what to do re this guy, he is married now with kids (2 boy's thankfully) and is not really involved in family matters. As a Christian I am trying to forgive but I am struggling as occasionally when I see him around I want to rip his head off. He may have changed I don't know but he still deserves a good kicking in my book. I am not a Nigerian citizen so it would be extra foolish if I was to intervine with violence. After saying all that I must add I don't condone violence in any form. I just go a little to pot when I think of the damage he has done to my family members and close friends.

love to all. smiley

HealthRe: How Old Do You Want To Be Before You Die by SIBLI06(m): 12:13pm On Mar 08, 2006
seuntech- How freaky is that! I was just discussing the same topic with my wife last night. It caused a big debate as i said that after I have seen my grand children I will be complete and willing to go at anytime. My wife thought that was selfish of me. My wife wishes to die when she is as old as possible and before me. At the end of the day God's time is the best.
HealthRe: Bathing Every Day Not The Best? by SIBLI06(m): 12:07pm On Mar 08, 2006
2cantango huh huh

If I knew how to quote people you would notice that the statements at the beginning of my text are actually replies taken from the beginning of this thread. I found them offensive so I copied and pasted them to help enforce my view that people should not assume or jump to conclusions (You know just like you have done).

I will be clearer in future (Can anybody explain the process of inserting quotes into the reply).

I hope that clears thing's up and I am white as well and don't smell like a dog!!!!!
HealthRe: Bathing Every Day Not The Best? by SIBLI06(m): 3:01pm On Mar 07, 2006
is your teacher white?
i know oyinbo people don't bathe everyday. But hey please wash down there arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.
_____________________________________________________
no offence to white folks but they can be pretty dissgusting sometimes wetin taking your bath 2 times a week na swear and they say we are the primitive race @free please help me and ask that teacher if we are to brush only 2 times a week also
_____________________________________________________
Teacher is lame, Oyinbo people don't bathe--cause they said some ish about they strippin moisture--Like WTF, u can't use lotion, That why they smell like wet dogs, olorun,
_____________________________________________________
your teacher must be white [no offence] because thats what they believe, bath once in seven days!
but lets see like this, this people have a different idea of what bath is some say bath is when u soak yourself in water while some people say bath is when u use soap and sponge, which one is which?
maybe your teacher meant the one of soaking yourself in the water,
do u soak yourself in water everyday? [thats what he might mean]
______________________________________________________

What cr*p!

This oyinbo showers twice a day! I think the above replies just shows that some people have a long way to go in understanding people from other cultures (There is a wold outside Nigeria!!).

It would be nice for people to think before they type, do you really know what you are commenting on, do you have experiances / knowledge of the topic?

Peeps surely you can do better.

Car TalkRe: To Buy A Good Power Bike In Nigeria by SIBLI06(m): 12:56pm On Feb 16, 2006

Can anybody tell me where I can go fishing in Lagos. I used to fish in the river's in Warri but my job has moved me to Lagos. I dont want to fish in the sea, the fishing tackle I have here is only suitable for river / swamp fishing. The area must be safe (I'm a oyibo), i would be happy to teach people as well as I have over 25 years of experiance in fishing. I'm not actually bothered about keeping the fish... Yep i just throw them back!! Cheers Peeps
