blank:
Pls, i have a problem with my Hyundai Tucson 2007 model. It keeps jerking anything i press down on the accelerator (hope i got the spelling). Lately, it has been getting worse. I have just changed the fuel pump and now it drinks fuel like a V12 engine. Previously, i have changed the injector, i use injector cleaner, i only buy fuel from Total, I do the regular servicing. I have never missed a servicing. I am so frustrated with it. Could it be an electrical problem?
According to the Experts.

Car trouble symptoms: Car jerks when you accelerate to gain speed.

Car problem diagnostics: When the car jerks during acceleration occurs when the temperature is cold or the engine is cold, this only indicates a problem on the distributor cap. Moisture is formed inside the distributor cap during the night when the weather is cold or when it’s raining. The moisture that forms will cause the engine to misfire thus engine power becomes not even and the car will jerk when accelerating.

Car problem diagnostics: during the night when the weather is cold or when it’s raining. The moisture that forms will cause the engine to misfire thus engine power becomes not even and the car will jerk when accelerating.

However if the problem occurs gradually and as the day passes it becomes worst then the possibilities is that there is problem of vacuum leak. Vacuum leak start small then become worst gradually because of the pressure inside the engine, the vacuum is one of the key factors in determining how much fuel is needed by the engine, if there is a vacuum leak the air/fuel mixture will not be in the right proportion thus making the car jerks when accelerating.

Another possible cause is a bad throttle position sensor, this will be the cause if the problem occurs at any engine temperature and if you encounter the problem constantly since the time you start noticing it but this is only possible for fuel injected vehicle. Throttle position sensor is a device that measure the distance of the accelerator pedal from its original position when you depressed the pedal. The reading of the throttle position sensor will be transmitted to the car computer system to determine how much fuel is injected by the fuel injection system into the car engine. If the throttle position sensor is bad then the data that it will send to the computer will be wrong and will affect how much fuel will be injected inside the engine thus making the jerk during acceleration.
According to what you have written, the bold paragraph could be your problem. With Naija mechanics you have to be specific or they will do trial and error on your car, so maybe when you take it to them next time tell them to check your vacuum leak.
Feedback is welcome so others can learn too.

I think we need to slow it down on cursing the dead here no matter what. Cos we neva might tell wat folks will say abt us when we go. A life was lost, who are we to judge , he AIK might be all dat squeaky clean in our eyes but he was to others. Lets just pray for the repose of his soul and leave judgement to God cos i personally the last tin i wish someone is death, even if that person is my enemy i wldn't do that cos there is no coming back from that. So guys make una take am easy. Peace
We can't curse them when they are alive because they will say it is disrespectful to curse elders, we can't curse them when they are dead because it is disrespectful to curse the dead, when can we curse them then? Men like him lived life like it was meant for only them and saw everybody else like flies on excreta yet people still defend them. Suffer head mentality is plenty in Naija, even the Bible recognize the freedom of cursing those who curse you. So what is your own?  undecided

5 Car Tire Care Tips

1. Check and Adjust Wheel Alignment

The direction your tires track down the road are dependent on the alignment of the two axles (or 4 wheels if you have independent suspension). So, you need to make sure that those two axles are parallel. If they aren’t, then they are working against each other and creating odd wear on the tires. It is recommended that you have this done every 12,000 miles or year.

2.  Maintain Proper Air Pressure

Improper air pressure in your tires will cause wear. If you don’t have enough pressure, the tire bows in, making the outside of the tires wear. And vice versa if the tires are over-inflated. Luckily, this isn’t an expensive piece of maintenance. You can easily keep your own tires properly inflated by checking them each time you put fuel in your vehicle.

3. Rotate and Re-balance Tires

This is a simple service that most auto shops will do for free if you purchased tires from them. Tires are made of rubber and they naturally wear out. Since your tires can never be perfectly balanced, your tires may wear in a less-than-uniform pattern. Rotating your tires (moving them to a different axle) will increase the chances that your tires wear more evenly. The recommendation is to rotate and re-balance every 6,000 miles or six months. Here’s a how to video for rotating your tires yourself:

4. Check and Replace Suspension and Steering Components

This is something that your mechanic should be looking for when they are aligning the wheels. Worn parts can affect your ability to properly align the car.

5. Maintain Good Shocks and Struts

If you keep fresh shocks and struts in your car, your tires will last longer. Some recommend replacing shocks and struts every 50,000 miles. But it really depends on your vehicle and driving conditions.

I've been to churches where the pastors tell the congregation to do things like raise one leg up or start spinning around or banging their heads hard or jump up and down for no apparent reason and I wonder what that has to do with salvation. I think some times these pastors just like to see how much power they have over these people. undecided

I agree it is all in the tone, I don't think I've met any diplomatic Naija women like my mother and my Aunty. By the time they are done, you will be prostrating and thanking them before you know you have just been corrected. Both of them brought me up half and half, so I know my future spouse won't have this problem.

Family6 Things To Never Say To Your Daughter-in-law by Sicherheit(op): 6:44pm On Aug 15, 2011
1) How To Keep Her Home
one thing a MIL should never do is tell a daughter-in-law how to keep her home. So that means no comments on her housecleaning, the way she places her furniture, or her visible dishes in the sink. None of it.

2) My Son Looks Skinny, Don’t You Feed Him?
Is that a dig on cooking skills or the ability to keep her husband healthy? Sadly, it’s probably both. First of all, the presumption that a grown man cannot feed himself makes my skin crawl. But on the cooking side, mean mothers-in-law often love nothing more than to put down a wife’s cooking skill

3) He Was Mine Before He Was Yours
It’s common sense that she raised your husband, but you are his wife and she is his mother, two unique and starkly different roles (God willing!). No reminder is necessary.

4) I Would Never Let My Child Do THAT!
I don’t care if it something as simple as leave food on their plate or throw darts as their brother, what you did with your child 30, 40, 50 years ago is utterly inconsequential to me. I am the mother and I will respond the way I see fit, got it?

5) The Baby Stopped As Soon As You Left
Stopped crying, fussing, acting out, it doesn’t matter. The implication is that once you were out of the picture, your child behaved fine…for her…probably because you couldn’t get the job done. Might you want to rethink those words?

6) Physical Appearance
Do not comment on your daughter-in-law’s recent bad haircut, weight gain, added grey hairs, tired eyes, or any other physical asset, unless it’s complimentary. I can assure you that you may have no ill intention behind it, but I can also guarantee you that there are some women out there who will take it the wrong way. And some comments are just comments, like “Why don’t take a rest, you look a little tired. I’ll watch the baby”, but some are plain mean, “I notice the grey hairs are just multiplying, time for a touch-up?’ And those words are simply asking for trouble

Anencephaly is a severe congenital birth defect in which the fetus will have no brain.

This condition occurs in approximately 1 in 1,000 pregnancies. This is a neural tube defect.

The expected life for a baby with anencephaly after birth is just few hours or few days.

Babies with this condition lack part or the entire cerebrum from the brain.

There is no bony covering over the back of the head and also there are missing bones around the front and sides of the head.

In 25% of cases, babies with anencephaly live to the end of pregnancy, but they can die at the time of delivery. This condition can be detected by a specialist with the help of high resolution ultrasound scan as early as 10th week of pregnancy.

During the 16th week of pregnancy, the AFP (alfa feto protein) levels are measured along with a maternal serum testing. If the test results in high levels of AFP, then there is a greater chance for your child to suffer from neural tube defects.

The main cause behind anencephaly:

During your pregnancy, the brain and spine begin as a flat plate of cells, which rolls into the tube, called as neural tube. If entire or a single part of neural tube not succeeds to close, then it leads to an open neural tube defect (ONTD). This small opening remains exposed or enclosed with a bone or skin.

Anencephaly and spina bifida are the most popular open neural tube defects and comes rarely. Anencephaly is the condition where neural tube fails to close at the base of the skull, whereas spina bifida happens when the neural tube fails to close anywhere along the spine.

Once a baby is born with open neural tube defect in a family, then the chances for ONTD in the family again increases to 4-10%.

The main causes behind anencephaly include: deficiency of folic acid, undiagnosed diabetes, harmful chemical exposure, genetic causes, hypervitaminosis A, use of anticonvulsant medications and higher temperatures of 102 degrees or higher for more than 5 hours.
If anyone doubts God exists, all they have to do is count the number of women who give birth in Nigeria Successfully.  How can the health Commissioner not know about this? undecided

You people are acting like what the OP wrote is false. The truth is in Naija today, connection is what gets you in and if you don't have those connections you have to be ready to give something up. I have friends calling me and asking me to speak to my uncle to help them because they found out the GM of one company is the brother of my uncle's friend. One of my Aunty's friend complained bitterly of recent because her daughter told her one of the area uncles who promised her a job is using style to ask her out, mind you the area uncle is older than the mother and knew the girl since she was in primary school. These things happen and pretending it does not and saying the OP is whining is just plain stoopid. undecided
