I don't understand why everyone is saying go to church and fellowship as if they automatically breed good chicks. One of the worst behaved girl I ever encountered in my life is a chorister in one of the famous pentecostal churches and she also has friends in different department, they all hang out together like a pack of hyenas.
AjanleKoko: Nice perspective. You talked about the chicken. Now let's talk about the egg . It's kind of hard to expect staff to be motivated when the owner is a truant, undisciplined, and is only milking the company's opportunities. Why should an unpaid employee now take the initiative to drive the business, while the owner is busy setting fire to the opportunities?
I've been in this same situation at the very start of my career, when I worked for a software company. The owner had major clients in oil and gas, banking, FMCG, etc, but was taking out money as fast as it came in. The dude did not invest in the company at all, until the staff started to leave. The only benefit to me was, I was able to sharpen my software engineering skills enough for me to find another job and press on, but the level of motivation itself was very low. In fact, all the development staff resigned within a month of each other. A couple didn't even have jobs. The last straw was when a multinational FMCG was considering the deployment of our software across its Africa operations. Their top brass visited our offices and were disgusted. They even put in a plan to phase out our application as soon as they saw the state of our environment.
For non-tech people, such as sales and marketing staff, who have little to gain by way of skills, they will have it a lot more tedious if all the odds are stacked against them. Imagine being stuck with an impossible product to sell, no tools, no incentives, and no wages. Yes, some have persevered despite the odds ( I know a few guys who worked as commissioned insurance salesmen and were able to build a solid network of clients which stood them in good stead), but most will not, and those impossible odds will drown them eventually.
I'm a co-owner of a small business myself. We have a few staff that we pay at the going market rate, and we also motivate them with transportation allowances as well as laptops/smartphones and BB subscriptions for the salespeople. If you are running a business and can't put in some level of enabling environment . . . well, you deserve whatever results you get. As it's popularly said, if you pay peanuts, monkeys will work for you.
How does the actions of PROSTITUTES affect the way hardworking Nigerians are treated by the Germans they work for? Why even bring PROSTITUTES into this matter? Some people are just senseless.
I don’t know where to post this but I think it fits iunder religion. It’s about keeping hope alive. No matter what your circumstances are, there’s something in you that Glorifies God.
Sung Bong Choi has been dealt an incredibly tough hand at life, being an orphan since a very early age, living on the streets alone for 10 years of his childhood selling gum and energy drinks to get by. Sung has not only an angelic voice, he has incredible perseverance to overcome the bad odds in his life and finally has his chance to change his life.
@ PureOhio Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't you people just meet? Did you expect them to be all up on you just like that? Give it more than a couple of meeting before jumping to the conclusion that they've lost interest in you. It's hard to believe but not all Nigerian guys are dog panting after the next steak.
I have no problem with black women marrying Chinese men or any foreign man. Men have been marrying foreigners years, so let the sistas have their turn.
M M M: some black girls re just falling hands dis dayz.
I second Mr. Siena's comment, it is is a brilliant presentation. Kudos to you. This certainly quenches the myth that when water enters the engine there is no hope. This section is getting interesting and informative. Thank you all!
To All - Can we have more writes ups and presentations like these? There is nothing wrong with buying and selling but it will be good to also have informative discussions. Please don't take offense.
Have you asked yourself why the drainages are used as garbage dump? Maybe if the govt provided a good refuse pick up system, people would be less inclined to put their trash in the drainages.
This is a sad thing to read. In another country, the staff will come together and fight for their rights but not Naija. Someone is treating them like dogs and they take it because they have the e go better mentality. They can't coorporate and don't show up for work to teach the management a lesson because they are afraid of being let go. Only in Nigeria will people prefer to show up for work and not get paid than not show up and get what's due to them - RESPECT.

Some cars that don't come with ACs from the factory. Recently I came across an Chevy Aveo (SV Model) without factory AC, the owner was looking into how to manually have one fitted in. Some people also buy cars in the absolute base model, which means very little car features comes with it. From what I hear though, non-factory fitted AC cars are very rare.

Does your bishop really say is it your money? Or is you own plane missing? Na wa oh!
In my humble opinion, having a special thread put on a sticky for only pre-order dealer smacks of elitism and can be seen as a way where some people are formally lifted above others. This is an equal opportunity forum; let everybody be known by the works of their hands.
We have to assume the buyers are not little children who need to be cuddled. If I am going to be dropping a large sum of money for a car, you best know I will be doing everything in my power to make sure I don’t get cheated.
I’ve been looking to buy a car for 2 months now, having calculated how much I want to spend based on the kind of car I want, I know the pre-order route maybe the way to go. I didn’t just land on the auto section and pick the first pre-order thread I saw, what I have been doing instead is taking a list of the dealers in the pre-order sales, looked at their history, which is really easy to do with search buttons and clicking on the poster’s profile. In the two weeks I was able to narrow my list down to a couple of dealers. I’ll still do the same thing for non-pre-ordered cars.
My criteria: Longevity and customer relations/testimonial. That’s all the accreditation this buyer needs.
The question I want to ask for those in favor of “Approved dealer” is if this "Approval List" is really for the buyers and not a way to spotlight some sellers over the others, then what guarantees does it comes with? For instance, what happens if an approved buyer defaults? Can the people who did approving be held responsible for his default? If no, then what is the essence of your approval? You are telling us go with lagbaja and tamado but if anything happens, we are on our own.
The only way to get some semblance of normalcy is to press home the fact that both buyers and sellers have responsibilities and if these responsibilities are upheld, the chances of a diligent buyer who has done his homework crossing paths with an untrustworthy seller is very slim. Each party taking their responsibilities seriously won’t eliminate the risks but it significantly reduces it.
All the other issues like people posting with multiple IDs will be moot if everybody adopts the by their fruit you shall know them philosophy.
Finally, I want to suggest that things like temperament should be put into consideration when picking a moderator for a highly charged section like this. Some people get too hot under the collar too quickly to be mods. Yes, Mr. chelseabmw I'm looking at you.
Araboy: Hey Hottie I m not sure if u are an Anglophone but your spelling remind me of myself when I first start studing English in College it's pathetic to see a Franco-Arabophone like me mastering the grammar better
You mean when you first STARTED studing English, right? Here's an idea, master the grammer properly before you make fun of someone else. Pinhead.
